When asked to think of two polar opposites, the first thing that comes to mind to most is ice and fire.
That is because when considering the basics of the basics, the two extremes of the temperature scale were the most representative of opposites.
Fire could melt and evaporate while ice could freeze and condense.
Of course the actual technicalities were more complicated then molecular decomposition and recomposition but in essence that was what it is.
Now.
When asked whether or not they have imagined a reality where they have controlled a superpower the common answer amongst many is yes.
And if that answer was no however, then their childhood was fun it was not.
Anyways.
A not so well known fact was that in combination witht eh five sense touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight there were two other senses.
The sense of gravity.
And the sense of temperature.
And right now I was experiencing the extremes that my sense of temperature could send to my brain.
It was incredibly complicated to describe, but if I had to, then I felt as if my body was dipped in an ice bath in the middle of a spa.
Something I never thought for the life of me I would experience.
Staring wide eyed at my surroundings right before closing my eyes due to a painful douse of salt water in my eyes.
I recalled the imagery I had just seen at the last moment.
It was something straight out of fantasy.
Well I guess I am in a world where magic exists so I shouldn't be talking, but nevertheless.
It was incredibly beautiful.
Glistening in the sea water the small ice like shards gleamed with blue flame which swirled inside the sea, causing the bodies of ice to glitter attractively.
A bit to attractively it seems as when I opened them I saw a Guardian swim eye first into the spike of burning ice.
'Holy hell this is crazy.'
Staring wide eyed at my surroundings, I noticed an incredibly inconspicuous thing that without prior knowledge would've gone incredibly unnoticed and brushed off as an increase of power.

Probably useless knowledge dump incoming

Due to the high salt content in sea water also known as sea salt in lay mans terms, the freezing point of sea water was much higher than that of pure water.
That was why although pure water boils at 100 degrees celsius, it generally doesn't when mixed with other chemicals.
Anyways, this meant that a unique ecosystem adapted to the sub freezing conditions of the North and South poles could form.
This ALSO meant that creatures who hadn't adapted to the uniquely sub freezing temperatures would suffer a whole deal more as was seen right in front of my very eyes.
We don't get unadapted more than a camel in the middle of the Arctic or in this case a warm water ocean guardian meeting a miniature ice berg the size of a yoga ball.
And by meeting, I mean brutally killing the guardian with the full weight of a condensed ice ball covered in the spikes of the heavy weight of their sins.
And I don't know what type of sins a sea creature could commit in the middle of the sea with nothing around but water, But I'm rolling with it.
'Well I guess it could commit murder but it is a dog eat dog world out there, are murder charges even effective?'
Turning around, I brought my hand up as I instinctively ignored the people in the ocean and fired long sharp icicles which whirled through the water to their designated targets.
Skewering them whole, they became something akin to a shish kebab as blue meat balls covered in spikes were skewered with ice blue sticks.
The only downside to such a method however is that it took blood.
And by blood I mean my blood.
The blood that runs in my veins.
Grimacing from the penetrating pain which gave my fingers an inescapable itch of underneath the skin like itching, something I really hated having whenever I was outside, I switched to the blood sword.
At the least I wouldn't be hurting myself that way and giving myself the urge to dig underneath my skin and scratch the itch.
And seeing as I was basically able to rip apart flesh with my bare hands albeit with some trouble, if I could endure the pain I definitely could do that.
Anyways.
Turning around in the water with some shoves with my arm I stared at the rest of the enemies that were swimming around in the water and by extension the large group of humans whom had suddenly appeared.
Probably from that ship I had just crashed into a while ago after being hit by something.
'What even was I hit by again?'
A shockwave hit me from the side as I was sent tumbling through the water.
Ending up upside and quickly reorienting myself, I stared at the source of the collision which just so happened to be two very distinct beings.
The very old looking grey guardian which had sent me flying to the surface in the first place and a bearded man who I had a vague impression of.
Although that might just be my mind playing tricks on me.
'Interesting how he's using a gun though.'
'...'
'Wait he's using a gun.'
'...'
'HE'S USING A GUN.'
Realizing that the bearded man fighting the guardian was indeed using a friggin gun in this magic centric world, I realized that in the course of...
'How long has it even been since I have arrived in this world?'
Realizing that I indeed had no idea how long I have been in the world I started to recall th--
'STOP GOING OFF IN TANGENTS!!!'
Slapping myself to stop myself from jumping into that rabbit hole of thought, I ignored the fact that I had no concept of time and instead focused on a very important fact.
The fact that someone was using a gun, underwater no less.
From what I can recall guns weren't in the forefront of this worlds usage as swords, spears and basically cold weapons were the only things that were used.
I mean, when someone using a sword was able to just deflect bullet as if they were anakin skywalker reincarnated it really seemed counterintuitive that you would use a gun.
But now I realized how dumb I was.
'I really wish I kept that laser gun which I completely forgot about until now.'
+++
Honestly did as well ;-;
+++
Since I was rather unsatisfied with the capability of the gun which couldn't help me in the slightest as I was getting swarmed, I threw it away onto some unknown place in the middle of my journey from the Kingdom of the Malaise to here.
And now I regretted it.
Because although I threw it away due to a lack of mass murder capability, I realized what I was missing.
More bullets.
Watching the pirate man with one eye patch covering his eye in stereotypical pirate fashion, the minigun in the form of a shark continued to spew out streams of bubbles which tore into the flesh of the Guardians surrounding the elder.
But it seemed that the penetrating power of the bullets had much to be desired as besides afew glancing shots, the blood leaking out the Elder Guardian was nothing more than slightly larger scratches to the beast.
So I should go and support that guy right now.
Quickly swimming towards him, I realized another thing.
Although the skewed aquatic movement I just created on the spot was suitable for fighting enemies surrounding me by controlling the three dimensions.
I found out that it was... very weak in moving quickly to say the least.
Thank the lord that I was able to use ice to kill the Guardians otherwise I would've been their brand new punching bag.
Anyways.
As I realized that fact, I glared at the Guardian which was twirling around like a beyblade shooting a very powerful laser all around it all the whil the Pirate man swam around it quickly.
'Wait a damn minute.'
Quickly focusing my gaze on the pirate man, I watched how he was swimming around as if water resistance was just a name and realized that he was just using a popular concept that overtook my childhood.
Using the guns recoil in the water to jet around as if on a joyride.
'Now in hindsight that is something that I should've realised.'
'He really should keep that thing under control though.'
Feeling blood leak through the base of my foot I blissfully sent jets of heated steam water through the base of my feet towards the elder guardian Blood sword in hand.
'Wait, why aren't I attacking him right after he just shot my foot?'
Belatedly realizing that fact it was to late by then as like Nezha the Chinese God of Fire, I blasted towards the Elder Guardian and brought down my blade.
Bloody sword leaving a trail of super heated bubbles which instantly evaporated the water, the power of frozen flame quickly consumed the durability of the blade.
And by using that durability, I was able to cleave a large gash into the side of the elder guardian which instantly flailed in panic once I cut off its tail.
'Thank you for distracting it pirate man.'

Did you guys enjoy that fun fact?
Yes?
Well please accept my gift of cursed knowledge that the spinning circle you see when your computer is loading is called a throbber.
Have fun with that information.
