Chapter 108 - The K!ngdom of the Mala!se (???)

As I was sucked away straight towards the top of the mountain, I suddenly felt the force of attraction pulling me stop suddenly and would've sent me flying if not for a different force holding me down.

An incredibly familiar force since I was quite... intimate with the force after interacting with the God of fun and Games.

Feeling slightly disoriented since my surroundings had changed in such short notice, I glanced at my new surroundings which weren't fraught with peril and danger like the previous one.

It was a courtyard in space.

Or something like it.

I don't know how, but in this place, the night sky was eerily clear here and everything seemed as if it was night.

Old worn down stone carved with remarkable amounts of craftsmanship lay on the ground underneath similarly carved statues of a man in a wide billowing cape wearing a set of armor I was also familiar with.

It was the set of armor that I had found within the cave, and the helmet they were wearing correlated to the sigil Cherry the last knight of the kingdom had worn in her last moments.

'So that's the kings armor huh? Interesting.'

Glancing at the other statue which consisted of a giant man wielding a twin headed spear while holding them with incredibly large gauntlets, a coughing noise caused me to snap my head towards its source.

That being a man sitting on a throne of stone with a large spear running straight through them.

Staring at the man who I knew was the king of this place, the following words of the king cemented my thoughts.

"Hello there Inheritor, my name is Alexander Dara Chelsea the fifth, the foolish king of the isles of Sevallia"

'So that's what the name of the islands is.'

'But wait.' Pausing at the thought, I immediately turned to the name that the man had said. 'Isn't Alexander Dara Chelsea the Fifth the name of the owner of the diary?'

I thought back to when I was in the caves and found the small hut where a diary lay besides a skeletal body.

'Isn't that the name of the guy who's armor I took from his body.'

Staring at the man on the chair, the man nodded.

"If you are thinking that I am a familiar figure then you are correct Inheritor, I am the same Chelsea you are thinking about."

'The fuck.'

Staring in disbelief at the man he continued.

"Did you really think you came here by chance?"

"Yes?"

"Well you are half right, fate indeed brought you here like I desired, and the chance part is when you did, but I see you were rather strong already."

Alexander chuckled as he glanced at the clear blue sky where a giant monster worm covered in ugly purple veins was located.

"Ok..." Swallowing that information a question lingered on my mind. "But since your here... who was the owner of the body that had a diary with your name on it? Alongside your armor nonetheless."

"Oh that, that was also me?"

"How does that work?"

He shrugged on the top of the throne "Thanks to the treasure that my double body had I was able to create an identical clone with my personality and my powers, that and with the help of the alchemists we could create Homunculi."

"Sadly the alchemist betrayed me and killed me when I was at my weakest and the guards were away from me."

He nodded to the other statue besides the kings statue.

"Nowadays, perhaps out of guilt, my friend who calls himself the Hand of the king when he really is just one of the Servants just guards me perpetually."

"Now that I think about it, what did my double body have on them?"

'...' Pausing I turned to look at my game system which still hovered on me, seeing that it still existed I manipulated it and opened the inventory revealing a small orb that just rested within it.

I didn't find a use for it so it just lay in there, but because I thought it was important the orb just lay there alongside the broken armor.

Thank goodness the armor was counted as a single entity.

Holding it out, the black orb reflected the light off of its shiny surface.

Seeing the orb the kings blue eyes shined. "Oh? You got the Treasure of Sevallia with you? That must mean you used the blood of the half angel?"

"Well... yeah." 'I mean the egg ate it but I did use it.'

"That's great!" I stared at the soul of the king who was trapped on top of the throne with a long spear stuck through their abdomen.

Staring back a large smile rose on his face. "That means that my body clone escaped without that blue bastard taking the treasure!"

Hearing that first apt description of the Alchemist I couldn't help but feel curious despite circumstances asking to me ask a different question.

"So... who was this alchemist really?"

Alexander's orange eyes froze before they stared far off into the distance where the frozen image of the full form of Mama tick alongside the Conjunctivis fighting were revealed.

And less noticeable besides them, the small form of Death was fighting a silver knight while swinging their scythe around.

His hands clenched as anger became visible on his face as if the thought of the Alchemist just irked them.

And I hope I was imagining it but I think the Giant Hand of the king just moved.

Breathing out in ways I didn't know were possible in soul form, he opened his eyes.

"The Alchemist... You don't need to know what that bastard is anymore, you just need to know he thinks he discovered the key to immortality and now is just using that damned Malaise to create more of those cells to his own damned benefit!"

"..."

He let out a long sigh as he slumped against the throne. "But nevertheless, due to his cunning the man is now the only one who has won."

Mulling over his apparent sad state, the soul in front of me shook his head.

"Anyways, the real reason why I brought you in front of me."

His body lifted up off the ground as the sword followed him.

Moving forwards, the king looked to the sky which swirled with dark hues and pressed his hand on my forehead.

"It was no coincidence that you came in contact with the soul orb, and the fact that you used the blood means that all the requirements have been met."

Staring at me with an incredibly focused gaze, I squirmed slightly.

"Now then, I'm going to begin the ritual."

'Wait what?'

Pushing his hands into my head the King closed his eyes, at the corner of my vision I could see the Hand of The King stretching out there arm.

Feeling my soul get jerked straight back to my body, it quaked as I felt an unknown energy course through it.

Feeling the wind suddenly whip at my cheeks, I suddenly realized I was in the sky.

Realizing that I was back at my previous position, I couldn't help but wonder if that was a dream.

If it was, it was rather vivid.

Having those thoughts, a l pulled out Marksman's bow and pulled back the string.

'Oh don't worry Inheritor, it wasn't a dream.'

Nearly loosing the arrow ahead of time, I wildly tried to stabilize myself as the voice of the King resounded within my mind.

'HOLY!'

'Don't worry about it inheritor and focus on what you're doing, soon enough you'll understand it.'

Shaking my head desperately.

I pulled the string of the bow back as I tried to focus.

'Ok then!'

Focusing on the monster several thoughts rang in my head as I tried to ignore the mind which now resided within mine.

'The Mama Tick is to big and bulky for a small bow like this to do any damage, so what if I...'

My arms tensed as I utilized the familiar flow of mana to flow through my arms to my hands.

But instead of flowing straight to the runes which would control the plants around me.

I controlled the flow to move around the bow.

Feeling the unfamiliar yet familiar connection with another object, the mana in my body spread to my bow and arrow.

Pulling the arrow back to its utmost limits, my eyes seemed to focus on the large maw of the monster known as Mama tick.

Staring down the ravenous gullet of the monster, I focused all my mana I could into it.

'Since I probably won't get a chance to do something like this again...' Mana surged from my body in waves as I consumed potion after potion.

Glowing a bright blue in my hands, blue flames rose from the bow as mana leaked out of it inefficiently.

But who cared about efficiency when there was an overwhelming amount of it?

'I like your style of thinking Inheritor!' The voice in my head laughed 'anyways, the ritual is complete and soon you should feel it.'

'Feel what?'

Trying my absolute hardest to contain and condense the rampaging mana inside the bow, the blue flames seemed to nearly break the bow as it surged uncontrollably.

And that was when I felt it.

Feeling a foreign energy enter my body, in my specialized vision I could see the blue sparks of light which hovered in the air moving straight towards my body.

'Oh shit.'

Cursing loudly mana surged towards my body in waves as unbeknownst to me the egg and the orb in my inventory were quickly absorbing the tide of mana.

But alongside the mana which surged towards me, the orange dots I called the malaise followed.

'Oh fuck'

Cursing even more, my body seemed to swell up as an uncontrollable tide of energy ravaged my physical frame.

'UGH!'

Gritting my teeth and trying to focus, I instinctively felt that if I didn't take this opportunity, it would never come again.

And despite not knowing what that opportunity was I focused.

Feeling the energy rampaging out of my body, blue lights left my eyes.

Opening my mouth in a silent scream of pain, the black head of hair on my head replaced itself with the black flames of the beheaded.

But unlike last time, a blazing black fire that seemed to swallow everything left my head.

Instinctively feeling something break, I sent all my focus to the tip of the arrow where a power akin to a nuclear bomb was focused.

Pulling the bow back to utmost limit of it could before breaking, mana surged out in tides as it formed a superimposed form of myself in the air.

Letting the arrow fly, all the mana which was running through my body ran as if released from the bindings that bound them.

Tearing through the air, the results of the power which released itself was horrifying.
