Chapter 109 - The Newcoming of the Malaise

Mama Tick instinctively felt the danger strike at the very core of her being.

Staring at the bright blue light which came from the once insignificant threat to their sacred body, the mama tick was proven wrong many times through the loss of its limbs before it decided to put down its pride.

Revealing its full form, an even vaster majority of her body lay underground, but that was fine since she only needed to open her mouth to devour the puny insect.

But since that puny insect revealed its capabilities by focusing an amount of mana to the point it was visible to the puny mortals.

It felt afraid.

With every fiber of its being rebelling against her will to go devour the puny insect that dared to harm its glorious body.

Mama Tick hurriedly stopped crawling to the sky and instead wanted to sink back into the earth.

Retreating as quick as possible, the gigantic segmented maw which served to only devour large creatures like Conjunctivis quickly closed.

But not fast enough.

As if sensing her desire to retreat, the arrow blasted forth like a comet.

Unhesitatingly closing her gaping maw, the split segments slowly came together.

But not so sadly, they didn't close fast enough.

zipping straight through the small gap in the mouth, the maw closed around the blue trail of the arrow and all of the purple eyes of the monster trembled.

And that was the last thing it could coherently do before the Mama Tick was plunged into a world of pain.

Blue light seeped straight out of its body as the upper part of it swelled immensely.

Bursting from the broken limb segments, its limbs flailed as explosions after explosion occurred within.

Tearing apart its body, the rampaging mana which had been released from the firm control of the Accidental burst forth with renewed vigor.

Tearing through the muscle fibers, shells, organs and everything in between, the purple eyes were filled with blue before they burst into liquid messes.

Exploding from within, bits of flesh flew off of its body as purple blood mixed in with blue light fell off its body in droves.

Taking this as their chance the crimson blood fire which unhesitatingly crawled up the blood in an eager rush to devour the blood within the mama ticks body.

When it came in contact with the mana, the blood flame was invigorated.

Flaring upwards the Mama tick's gargantuan body was immediately covered in blood red fire that moved as if alive while mana rampaged within.

Screeching loudly the creature convulsed and crushed all of its unfortunate subordinates and immense brood.

Flailing crazily its body slammed into the distracted form of both Gerald the Knight and Conjunctivis the Imprisoned mutation.

Quickly reacting by extinguishing the flames on their bodies before they could become a problem, from afar, the Collector stared avidly at the screaming boss monster before slinking away none the wiser.

As the screams of the monster reached a new crescendo, the boss monsters body tensed as if sensing its final moments.

Swelling even larger in parts, those parts exploded in unison before the entire body of the boss monster exploded into a gory mess of fire and blood.

Hitting every single being unfortunate enough to be nearby Mama Tick, fleshy chunks burning in crimson flame were sent flying to who knows how far.

Following the gory explosion of meat, the explosion of balls of light dense enough for one to see it was revealed.

They were all cells, lighting up the sky in their beautiful brightness that seemed to shine even in the clouds in blue.

---

'Holy hell that was grand.'

Watching the Mama Tick explode into a ball of blue cells galore, I mulled over the things that made this all happen.

'For one I think the mana I put into my bow was literally ten times my total capacity and when adding the mana in the air around me...'

+++

Note: base mana capacity is currently 100

+++

'Yeah... I guess the results were worth it.'

Staring at the devastation, the Marksman's bow slowly disintegrated into a fine wooden dust.

It made sense since the bow outputted something beyond what it could normally hold.

However...

'Strangely enough, I still feel powerful.'

Feeling the hidden strength which was levels above my previous strength which allowed me to tear apart a zombie apart with my bare hands.

'Now I felt like I could tear apart that goliath creature.'

'Of course you can, those Goliath's despite being the war beasts of Sevallia and have been chosen to become the inheritor.'

'Your still here?'

'Of course I am, but I will soon disappear since I used most of my strength in beginning the ritual, the rest will come by when the time comes.'

'What do you mean by that?'

'...'

'Hello?'

Nothing but silence replied to me as I realized the subtle presence which lingered in my mind disappeared.

'Oh... well... I pray you live a good life in your next life.'

Briefly praying to the king of Sevallia, I felt the malaise that was resting within my body.

How did I know that it was the malaise in my body and not mana?

I have no clue.

But nevertheless.

Clenching and unclenching my hands, I quickly descended from the sky while the wind whipped at my exposed skin.

If anything, despite the dizzying heights, I felt like I could tank the fall without using any of my other powers to negate the fall thanks to the malaise subtly empowering my body.

It would still hurt like hell though.

'However...'

Taking out another bow, I aimed it straight at the monster known as Conjunctivis grappling with a stone giant.

Since I had the power, I should put it to good use, my body was already torn apart, a little bit more added to the mess would do no difference.

Focusing onto the two battling figures their names came up in my mind.

[Boss Rush Knight Gerald]

[Conjunctivis]

Since the giant was apparently a friendly, the tip of my bow aimed straight at the Conjunctivis.

Glancing my way on chance, the creature recoiled at the sight of me pulling back the bow.

Noting down the fact that the monster was trying to run away but the giant statue was holding it down, my new bow which would soon join the previous one in felling the great beast.

'Round 2, lets go'

---

"That damned king." The Collector grit his teeth as he carried the large cylinder on his back filled to the brim with blue cells.

Following closely behind his apprentice waddled quickly while listening to their masters ramblings.

"If he says he is idiotic, he should've stayed idiotic, those fucking plans of his are annoying."

Grumbling, the Collector made his way into the experimental room where the same giant machines and contraptions which surrounded the man on the chair lay.

"A foolish king should stay foolish, why couldn't he be the same naive little prince?"

Dumping more cells into the machine with fluid movements, his bandaged hands glided across the surface of the machine flicking several levers and pushing may buttons.

"What are you doing apprentice! Put the cells into the machine!"

Jolting into action, the apprentice continued to follow their masters bidding while dumping cells into the machine, focusedly staring at the cloaked figure of the Collector.

"Ugh, that damned king and that wife of his, why can't you see what I'm doing is the key to a higher plane."

Cursing out loud, the machine buzzed to life as the various pulleys and gears started to move and pumped even more liquid cells straight into the skinny frame of the man embedded on the chair.

"If you're dead, stay dead for God's sake, your plans are still interfering with me to this day!"

Flailing much like many of the other iterations, the Collector ignored the main body of the king and continued to stuff more cells into the body.

"At least fate is still on my side like it always is."

Watching the cells bolt straight into the body, the collector's mouth split into a wide grin.

Unaware or pretending to be unaware of the long hard stare that his apprentice gave him.

As he stared at the corpse, the machine suddenly burst into black smoke.

Seeing that one would usually think the machine had broke down much like what the apprentice thought.

That didn't actually happen however since the Collector was wildly smiling.

"Oh? I can't believe it! Fate really is on my side today!"

Happily moving to the other side of the room, he punched the wall and broke it down underneath the stunned gaze of the Apprentice.

Moving through the dust and rubble, the Collector took out a pair of devices and maneuvered through the myriad of wires.

Moving their head up, the half corpse which was more blue than ever, the collector smiled through the darkness of his hood and stabbed the device straight into the exposed chest, piercing through the skinny flesh and drawing blue blood.

Dissipating into the air, if Slade was here he would've noticed that the blood turned into specks of blue mana.

Convulsing in place, the half corpse felt pain beyond anything they could experience as the device activated upon exposure to mana and began to circulate the large round orb surrounded by rings in the device.

Rolling in place, the grey orb was filled with bright blue light as it started to suck in visible streams of blue mana straight into it.

Convulsing due to the input of mana beyond what normal flesh could endure, the Collector grabbed the connecting pipe and connected it to the other device.

Placing it on their back, the device glowed before it spread to clamp into the flesh, sinking its drills into the back.

Ignoring the pain which should've been obvious due to the drilling sounds, the collector excitedly smiled before holding the final device up.

Pressing the button on it, the orb which dug into the man's chest suddenly accelerated as more mana was sucked straight from the source.

Moving the now incredibly focused and condensed mana through the specialized tubule, it entered the final device and strength started to surge into his veins.

Staring at the actions in front of him with a sort of horrified interest, the sounds of bones cracking and rearranging rang out in the small room.

The Apprentice knew he should look away from the horrifying actions, but they couldn't help but stare with a horrid fascination.

A roar of pain ripped out of the Collector's mouth as the sounds of tearing clothes resounded.

---

Up above it all, the God of Fun and games stared down at the land with their multicolored eyes, using the phone screen as a medium to watch it all.

But despite being present in the world of Axia which was the world Slade was in.

His attention was not directed to the man who has his power.

No.

It was actually more focused on the purple lands of corruption and the red lands of the crimson.

Underneath the earth, two separate cults were preparing to summon something ghastly.

'You better hurry up Slade, otherwise this world will be lost.'
