Chapter 52 - The Lunar Order

I held my hand up to the shining sky and felt the suns rays touch my pale skin.

It was a mystery at how my skin could stay the same tone under the immense time spent underneath the yellow sun.

But I didn't care for it.

I propped myself up from the small mountain of corpses below my body and looked at my master standing next to another man.

It's been an entire month since I had learned the Air cutting technique from my master.

And in that time I did many things that interested me.

That included making the pair of weapons in my hands which aided me in tearing the goblins apart.

[Light's Bane]

Unlike the weapons I usually used which came from Dead Cells which were usually more effective in tearing enemies apart with ease.

I was using the Light's bane from Terraria as I had the Demonite bars on hand and the fact that I desperately needed an upgrade.

The light's Bane was that upgrade being a step up from the Blood sword that Exyl was fond of using.

With Dark slashes attacking my enemies while following the blade.

It also pierced through armor plates and thus was the result underneath me.

I couldn't ignore the great help the new techniques I had learned from my master also had a hand in the battle.

"It seems that I didn't make a mistake in hiring you mister Slade!" A jolly fat man chortled in laughter as he stroked his mustache.

In rich attire, my hirer jollily laughed out loud as his eyes raked through the undead corpses below my feet.

"Well I was hired for this after all"

Glancing back at the spot where my master was, I was unsurprised to see that they were already gone.

And although I had questions regarding the other burly man, I didn't push my master.

I could find out later after all, or he would tell me.

Looking at the undead beings who had mostly been bisected in two halves, the man muttered to himself.

It was a habit I found my employer seemed to have whenever coin was at stake.

"How much can all of this go for? If we go on the agreed split for the A rank adventurer I hired..."

Yeah.

After the corpse of the Eye was looked at properly while taking into account of my contribution in the battle of Tinell.

The Mages concluded that although the Eye of Cthulhu wasn't completely dangerous, only being on the level of the King Slime.

It was still a boss that was at the minimum at the level of B grade.

And so, the Mages told the adventurers guild.

And the Adventurers guild, under the scrutiny of the worker.

Had conferred the honor of being an A rank adventurer.

Although I was 70% sure that my master the ninja had something to do with my newly increased rank.

I didn't have anything to prove that fact, and I had no desire to prove it as at the end of the day it was a beneficial thing.

But why was I hired by this merchant?

To guard the man alongside his convoy of merchant goods nonetheless?

It had something to do with the news that entered my mind the other day.

---

"Slade!"

Rina, drunkinly dumped a ton of beer into their throat as she tried to not throw up onto me.

"dID yOu.... heAR?"

I smiled as we were in the middle of celebrating the fact I had become an A rank adventurer besides Rina and her group of friends who became B ranks as well accounting for their contribution in helping the people.

"No?" Sipping the flagon of cold beer in my hands I let out a sigh and looked at Rina "What is it?"

Slightly tipsy Rina waved her Flagon and spilled Beer everywhere as the cogs in her brain visibly turned.

"woooord.... is aMongsssst the Adventuuuurerss... that..."

Dumping the rest of the beer down her throat, the fox ears on her head twitched.

"Guyyysss calliiing themselvessss the LunaaRRR OrDErrr haaave beeeeeeen spotted..."

Her brain visibly tried to compute as I solemnly looked at Rina who was oblivious to my stare.

"Neeaarr the Oceeaaanns... with the MALAisE!"

Her shout attracted the attention of the other patrons in the bar.

But it didn't last long as their gazes only saw another drunk in the bar, of course a few gazes landed on the two 'jugs' of beer in front of her chest.

But it went away upon noticing the sharp weapon besides her.

Falling into a drunken daze while staring at the air, Katrina and Amanda who had opted out from drinking several flagons of beer like Rina sighed.

"Just so you know, the Lunar Order are a group of cultists who have been around for quite a while now"

Taking a sip of her flagon Katrina continued to explain.

"They go around preaching about the Moon lord all the time and are bastards who successfully sacrificed a city before to their lord."

"But besides that" Smiling brightly with a smile that would definitely tug the heartstrings of a few men.

"Your blood has several medicinal properties and is rather powerful, this is the result of it, you can have it"

Showing me what was within her palm I opened my eyes before smiling as I took the unexpected gift.

Pocketing the item into my inventory.

I continued to party the night away with the three people who I had connections to in this world.

Besides the Merchant, the Elf Named Exyl and my master.

...

Man I have no friends.

Ignoring that revelation I dumped beer down my throat and only got tipsy in my sight.

Everything else besides my physical faculties were fine somehow...

Nothing more beer could fix.

After the party where I literally drank a shit ton of beer and had to pay a gold coin for the costs of the entire party.

I decided to leave the bar, waving goodbye to the three party members who all supported each other.

Rina being the drunker one of the three.

And as my footsteps rang in the night air of the city of Tinell.

I thought about what I was to do tomorrow in my tipsiness and set a goal for myself.

To find the Lunar order.

Otherwise they would summon the moonlord and all life that I know of would literally be transported to the underworld.

Unless the Moonlord had bullshit soul stealing abilities.

Man, when I'm drunk I swore a lot huh?

---

And in order to do that, I had to go to the port city that the Lunar order were spotted in.

And why not make some money as a side job.

Flashing my adventurer's rank and plaque to the merchant group heading to the port city after negotiating my pay.

I was than set with the duty of guarding the caravan and had thus far eliminated every single little critter in my sights.

That being the undead.

Returning to the small Carriage as I waited for more danger to pop up while enduring the uncomfortable carriage that had no comprehension of the thing called suspension.

The sun moved along the sky in a parabola as we neared the port city where clues to the whereabouts of the Lunar Order were at.

And soon enough.

We reached the Port city of Amurath.
