Chapter 33 - The Merchant

The name Aria if I looked at it strangely was just the end of the name of the game called Terraria.

Walking towards the library for the third time this week I walked along the streets of the city hurriedly.

The heat of being a savior of the city had died down recently, but I didn't mind.

I was honestly more worried about what I had learned in the library books.

Unlike the Minaft Continent which was embroiled in war.

The Aria continent was relatively safe.

That was if you didn't count for the danger of other humans of course.

But besides that, the main enemy of the Aria Continent wasn't just humans themselves, but it was the large organization called the Lunatic Cult.

Their power reached everywhere and they had their roots and claws in basically every city.

But if I was correct, the Eye of Cthulhu had never been successfully summoned before.

Always being foiled of their plans by spies in the Lunatic Cult they went quiet for a time.

And if my conjectures were correct, they were commencing a purge within their ranks.

Which meant that right now? They were incredibly dangerous as no one knew their plans anymore.

Letting out a breathy sigh I grabbed the books from their piles and placed them back to where they had come from on the shelves.

There is no need to mull over something I now knew but couldn't use in this point of time, maybe in the future this knowledge of my mine could be useful, but for the current me who hadn't found any signs of cultists.

It was basically useless.

Nodding to the librarian who was now staring at me with zeal for some reason, I walked out of the library.

I might return when I had something else to think about, but I already found out all the information I needed to currently know.

'But that's the worrying part'

If my thoughts were correct, the Order of the Blue moon, also known as the Lunatic cult would soon cause massive changes in the world as they worked underneath the bright unknowing surface.

Hoping to unleash their God the Moon Lord, who only got his name after being sealed on the moon, which was Ironic considering he wasn't part of the moon in any shape or form besides being sealed on it.

So goodbye normal life, I'll... probably not miss you.

But to ensure that I didn't get one sidedly massacred when the time comes and all hell literally breaks loose.

I should gather my own strength and start to abuse the three different game systems.

Terraria? You are the first.

Opening the doors to the merchants guild I smiled.

Ever since my bringing of several resources that had several different uses, I was treated as if I was a VIP, which, according to the rankings I was akin to a Gold rank.

Someone who could bring lots of profits to the Merchant branch.

"Oh" Opening the doors in the direct line of sight of the old man who first met me in the merchants guild he shouted and gestured at me to come forwards.

"Young Slade! You're back! Here to collect the rest of your earning are you? Come come"

Hobbling to behind the wooden counter where he initially was surprised at my amount of items he lifted a giant bag of something the size of my chest.

And although I looked skinny, that was compared to my height.

"Hup!" Slamming the bag on the counter with a loud thud, the wooden counter creaked in protest at the sudden weight to it.

"Here, the rest of your gold and silver"

Letting his hand go of the bag he pointed at me and spoke through his large beard. "Don't do what I see the young nobles do when they are given a budget and spend it all in one place, that money would be better used in buying food for your skinny body"

Pinching my skin I rolled my eyes and grabbed the large bag of coins before it disappeared into my metaphysical wallet.

Eyeing me with curiosity the old man, who's name by now I had learned was Joseph Seymour opened his bearded mouth.

"I've been wondering for a while now but... where did you find an artifact that contains a spatial inventory of it's own?"

Raising an eyebrow I balanced myself on the counter with one hand and looked to Joseph. "What do you mean by that old man"

Waving his hand Joseph spoke "Spatial artifacts like the one you are using to hold your coin aren't rather common, in fact the one you are using depending on it's size and limit could go for one platinum to dozens at the maximum"

Widening my eyes at that amount, my voice showed my disbelief. "What? Is it really that expensive?"

For context, 100 copper = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 gold, 100 gold = 1 platinum.

To the inhabitants of this world called Axia, the existence of this coin system was one that was widespread all across the world, even somehow being used by the Goblins who were known for their raiding tendencies.

One gold coin, for the average worker was enough for them to live a comfortable life for an entire year, a platinum coin being enough to live happily for the rest of their life.

Which was why I was so surprised as a million copper coins was one platinum coin.

To bad I had no desire to sell the very useful inventory for money, and even if I did, I wouldn't know how on Earth- I mean on Axia how to use it.

As I thought about those random thoughts in my head, Joseph looked around for a bit and gestured for me to lower my ear.

Which I obliged to and listened to his words. "Say... now that you're extremely rich after draining our entire merchant's Guild of all its allocated funds"

"Don't you think you should pay us back?"

Raising an eyebrow I looked the grey headed man directly in the eyes, only briefly replying.

"And how am I supposed to do that?"

Grinning with a smile akin to a fishers having tossed the bait and having it bitten, it was now time to reel in the catch.

"Tonight, at one of our side establishments, a special auction meant for only the wealthy is going to be held at this location."

Bringing out a map from out of nowhere he laid it on the counter, before pointing at a certain location on it.

Recognizing it for being the trading establishment from the Guild known for finding decently valuable things quickly I looked at Joseph.

"Of course you can't just enter the special willy nilly otherwise, all the rabble will be filling the auction house without the money able to buy anything"

Flashing a special looking card, the mans smile couldn't have been any wider.

"Luckily I have just the card meant for this auction"

"So what do you think? Are you interested?"

Holding the card between two of his fingers, Joseph grinned as I opened my mouth,

"I..."
