Chapter 2 - So what now

"So... Now that I have established I have died due to my memory..."

I blinked "What now?"

I still had the same body from before my death and I was an eye catching specimen if I do say so myself.

Standing at a whopping two meters tall at my apex of growth.

My body was trained by adventuring wherever and whenever.

Doing several heart racing and heart stopping challenges and stunts.

Hell I killed a live scorpion and ate it's flesh because someone dared me to!

But besides that.

Because of what my friends describe as wanderlust.

Which I call a liking for adventure.

I climbed up mountains, dived into oceans, Boated in storms, skydived in the skies and spelunked into caves.

All of which does not help me in seeing what I'm supposed to do.

"Well... I guess... Do what you were going to do before appearing in front of me?"

"And that is?..."

"Reincarnate with most of your memories in some unknown world I don't even know where?"

"What"

"Yeah" the boy who was most definitely not as normal as he looked.

Even though he looked like someone decided to just throw paint on the boy and just made the predominant colours the main ones on that area.

As his heterochromatic eyes, pale skin, rainbow hair, and extremely weird taste in clothing made him look like a fashion bomb.

And not in the good way.

"Rude"

Oh yeah, I forgot he can read my mind

Manifesting a giant chalkboard into existence, the boy hummed as his limbs blurred for a moment.

"I'll explain things for your little mortal brain to understand"

And he calls me rude.

Reincarnation.

A sentiment in religion that depnding on their views could be an entirely different thing.

In Nordic religion after death depending on how you'd die you either went to Valhalla or to Helheim.

Both places where the dead gather.

In Christian Religion you go to either Heaven or Hell depending on your sins.

Heaven being a place where good people gather and Hell being where the baddies gather.

In the Hindu Culture, the Samsara cycle is a cycle that when you die your soul or 'atman' enters a new body to begin a new life.

In the process of the soul or the 'atman' moving to a new body the soul forgets all its previous memories.

And said body could be anything ranging from trees to swords.

Anything.

This is known as Buddhism.

This is the religious thought of reincarnation.

And depending on your faith you go to any one of these religious idealogical heavens or hells or cycles.

And if your aetheist you just go to a random one decided by the wheel of fate.

The dead souls had to go somewhere right?

Reincarnation is similar to the Buddhist culture one.

In that when you die your soul is moved to another new born body.

But instead of going through any of the relevant cycles to cleanse and purify the soul of all past life.

Accounting for various factors in that life.

They directly enter a new body as they enter the sea of void instead.

And gain several fragments of unknown powers seamlessly melded to their body.

As a result of their chaotic soul that had just died.

So when that soul reincarnated into a new body.

Alongside memories of their past life they could exploit.

They usually had other powers to use.

"I'd that a good enough explanation?"

I sat there incredibly confused as the words this seemingly ten year old boy said imprinted itself into my mind.

"I... Guess so... But then if I'm what you call a reincarnated soul..."

"What happens when I took you out during the reincarnation?"

"Yes"

"Simple I will now acclimate myself to your preferences and give you my powers as a god and--

"I'm sorry, A GOd!"

Ignoring my voice crack the boy now known to be god looked at me amused.

"Well I'm not an omnipotent and omniscient being and the ones that are don't really pay attention to us, if anything I'm more like those gods from the other mythologies."

"Incredibly powerful beings that could decide my fate at the snap of a finger?"

"... When you put it that way..."

"So that's a yes"

"Yes"

Silently staring at the ten year old looking god one order random thought entered my head.

Gods from Greek myth usually rule over something right? So if he says he's like one then...

As if reading his mind the boy smiled and snapped his fingers.

"Glad you asked, I am the God of Games and Fun!"

And as if a veil that was covering his eyes had been lifted.

Everything instantly became clearer and revealed what the strange Mish mash was.

It was in fact a combination of old arcade games, carnival rides and games, new arcade games, future? Arcade games and literally games in general.

Seeing a blue screen pop up in the distance depicting a rather familiar screen overlooking a land at the corner containing a sharp eared handsome man.

Oh shit.

"Yeah I'm rather proud of my collection"

Still floating in the air the boy was now wearing a Vr headset and was making a shooting motion.

"Most of these games which I'm fond of are, did you know? From scientific civilizations like yours"

Blinking slowly at the word civilizations like yours I thought.

Honestly shouldn't be surprised that other life forms exist in the universe when a literal god is in front of me.

"Oh yeah" Now playing one of those old arcade games with a joystick and several pads.

With the screen depicting a yellow circle with an opening and closing triangle eating all the circular pellets on the screen as it dodged the ghosts.

"And before I was so rudely interrupted"

"Sorry"

"Where did I leave off... Oh right!"

Coughing to clear his throat the boy played a hand held console with an image of a race beginning.

"I will acclimate myself to your preferences, a bonus I'll probably give to special cases like you, and give you powers within my authority"

Is this going where I think it's going?

"And I will make you my apostle as the god of games and fun"

Is it not going where I thought it's going?

"So to do this correctly I will first give you three wishes that under my authority I may give"

Grinning lightly the boy added now kicking a feathered ball into the air with both feet.

"Choose wisely because if it's outside my jurisdiction then you will have wasted a wish"

It went the direction I was thinking!
