Chapter 3 - History

"So what's the play by play here?"

Rubbing my hands together the boy who was also a god playing on a pool table struck the white ball causing the rest of the balls to rocket around the table.

"Well I will use on of my artifacts to see your life and adapt accordingly to it"

"Ok then lay it on me"

Pulling out a mirror from out of nowhere he placed it in front of me as I eyed my body.

Honestly?

It looked like that despite having died I didn't even change in the slightest.

Well except maybe for being naked and being covered by a censor bar on my crotch.

I eyed my body closely wondering if anything else had changed.

Defined muscles which stayed, short black hair that stayed, the small scars I have accrued since my journey.

And most importantly, the most defining feature on my body besides my height of two meters, my eyes that were heterochromatic.

"Oh this is just the character adjustment screen"

Waving his hands the God of Fun and Games reappeared holding a camera before throwing it away.

Sticking his hand somewhere in space the boy seemed to rummage for something.

Picking out several things which were funky looking.

One of such things being a crab with a cowboy hat.

"Hah! I should really apply my divinity on these soon"

Grabbing a large magnifying glass he smiled.

And when I say large it was large.

Holding it with both hand the boy spoke. "Now stay still this should only take a few moments"

Blinking as several dots appeared on my own body I glanced downwards and saw the black censor bar.

"It might hurt though"

"Wait what?" Whipping my head upwards I was blinded by the light that hurt my eyes.

And the places with the small dots shone simultaneously.

The feeling was not pleasant in the slightest, it felt like as if someone stuck several needles inside of me at once.

Piercing pain struck my body simultaneously as I convulsed at the incredibly uncomfortable feeling.

And luckily there weren't actual syringe needles otherwise I might have had to have surgery to have them all removed.

Because good God-

"Thanks!"

-Is that painful.

---

Thanking the man who he had taken from his reincarnation cycle the boy called the God of Fun and Games grinned mischievously.

He could lower the pain slightly but where was the fun in that?

Smoothly changing his subject of focus from having fun to watching the mans memories the boy raised an eyebrow.

Hearing the word good God from his thoughts the boy yelled.

"Thanks!"

Before said thought continued to talk about pain.

Snickering the boy looked through the magnifying glass and looked at the mans life.

---

Images continued to flash between both of their eyes.

The images ranging from brief glimpses of my/ his birth quickly flashed as if a dream.

If not for the piercing pain that had become a numb one continuously bring me to my senses.

The images continued to flash by.

A crashed truck along with some blood splatters and various screams vaguely surrounded me.

"Interesting but not what I want"

A school writing on a green chalkboard learning some basic math alongside my comrades as students.

"Not here"

A University where several dozens of children were sat on rows and rows of chairs listening to some lecture about geography.

"Let's speed up"

An internship with incredibly taxing work hours.

An official job working as a city planner.

"Boring"

These images flew by if only for a moment before a more familiar image crossed my mind.

It was the day I made a decision.

The day where I left home to wander the world.

"Ah this is what I was looking for"

The God of Fun and Games mind's eye stared through the magnification glass and stared through it.

Using the many focused lights to tell him a story.

---

I had what my friends called an intense wanderlust.

When I was younger I just had this innate curiosity which to be fair was in most children, to explore the world.

But I think I was an outlier with a higher curiosity than my peers.

Because whenever possible I climbed walls, walked pavements, vaulted poles, crawled through holes.

All to find whatever it was I was looking for.

And I don't think my wander lust ever faded in the slightest.

If anything my wanderlust grew stronger as I grew older.

When I wasn't infusing my homework with meat and giving it to the stray dogs nearby or doing a small job to earn some money on the side.

I was grabbing my things including my homework, bag alongside several other things.

And vaulted whatever was in my way and found the secluded areas with great views and did my work there.

Using one of my mat I usually just lay there until dusk while doing whatever I thought I could do.

Usually admiring the landscape and simulating ways to get to those places.

"Intense wander lust eh? I can work with that"

And thanks to those ventures out for those hidden places, I had a well built body meant for movement and dexterity rivaling yogaists.

(The actual terms for this would be appreciated)

My height was a limiting factor I wasn't to sad about as although several places were closed off to me when I grew, much more opened up.

In fact, whenever I had friends I didn't actually go straight home but instead showed them the special places I had been to.

My favorite when I was in college was a small rooftop that was left bare with no windows facing it and could only be accessed by an alleyway.

And luckily it was facing towards the sunset so whenever I had the time I usually sat there admiring the sunset.

It seemed like a slight oversight that this place was left untouched and no one could see it but it was my sanctum sanctorum.

Quite the fun days when I never left the confines of the city.

It was only when I left the confines of the city did I leave my job and start adventuring everywhere either on foot, plane, glider, vehicle.

Anything.

---

Clapping his hands in front of me I jolted away at the sudden closeness as his green and blue eyes stared into my own.

Grinning at my surprise the God of Fun and Games spread several cards in the air and spoke.

"So you are one of a kind person that pursues a different type of fun than me, which I agree is a fun concept."

The cards which hovered face down from me prevented me from seeing what they were.

"These are what I call the wishes you will receive"
