Chapter 16 - You have Failed

The eerie quiet after the fierce battle hung in the air as I studied the Goblin Leader's Orb in my hands. A glimmer of hope flickered within me, knowing that this mysterious artefact could potentially replenish my dwindling mana.

Without hesitation, I activated the Goblin Leader's Orb. A surge of mana coursed through me, revitalizing my exhausted body. The world around me shifted as if the very air had become charged with energy.

Ding!

[Mana Restored: 100]

[Mana: 130 / 270]

A sense of relief washed over me as the system notification confirmed the restoration of a portion of my mana. The mysterious orb had proven to be a lifeline, offering a brief respite in this unforgiving world.

As I caught my breath, I examined the surroundings once more. The grotesque goblins' remains and the macabre scene served as a stark reminder of the challenges I faced. The countdown for the main quest still lingered in my mind, urging me to press forward despite the physical toll the encounter had taken.

My undead skeletons, though battered, remained at my side, loyal companions on this strange journey. I could sense their existence as an extension of my own, linked by the peculiar rules of this reality.

"You can rest now guys, everything is over...for now," I said to my three skeleton goblins.

Clank!, Clank!, Clank!

'Right, I still don't understand what they are saying.' I bitterly thought to myself as I saw skeleton goblins open his mouth to say something but only the clacking sound of bones could be heard.

Anyway, after that, all three goblins disappeared into ashes and attached themselves to my shadow.

"Now let's do this." Saying that I stood up on my leg and walked toward the dead body of goblin Shamen.

I pointed my hand towards the dead body of goblins Shamen and said,

"Arise..."

Ding!

[You have used Raise Undead Skill.]

Ding!

[The Raise Undead Skill has been failed. Your level is too low.]

"What? So I have to level up but how?" I asked allowed as my Raise undead skill failed.

'Wait a minute I remember something...'

"System opened status window."

Soon a transparent status window appears in front of me.

"System Can I level up by using experience points?" I asked as I saw my eco point is now 500.

200 expo I received when my undead goblin killed those 3 goblin and 100 must be when I killed the goblin shamen. The remaining two hunger must be from when I was trying to escape from the train.

So if my guess is right then I can level up by using these points.

Ding!

[Yes... You can level up by using the Exp point.]

"Okay, now that makes things easy." saying that I closed my eyes and said, "Level Up."

As I uttered the words "Level Up," a surge of energy enveloped me, and a strange sensation rippled through my body. The very fabric of my being seemed to shift as the experience points I had accumulated coalesced into a transformative force.

Ding!

[Congratulations! You have levelled up.]

The notifications echoed in my mind as I opened my eyes, feeling a newfound strength coursing through my veins. The world around me appeared sharper, and more vibrant, as if I had transcended a barrier that separated me from a higher realm of existence.

The status window displayed my updated information, the increments in attributes reflecting the benefits of levelling up. A newfound clarity filled my mind, and I could sense a heightened connection to the mysterious powers that governed this world.

"Now, let's try that again," I mumbled, turning my attention to the lifeless goblin shaman at my feet. With renewed confidence, I pointed my hand towards the corpse and uttered, "Arise!"

Ding!

[You have used Raise Undead Skill.]

This time, the response from the system was different. I could feel the surge of necrotic energy as the goblin shaman's body twitched, and an ethereal glow enveloped it.

Ding!

[You have Failed to raise the Goblin Shaman as your undead minion.]

The system's cold announcement lingered in the air, signaling the failure of my attempt to raise the goblin shaman. Frustration welled up within me, the sting of defeat harsher after tasting the exhilaration of leveling up.

"Failed? But I just leveled up!" I protested, confusion etching my face as I questioned the system's decision.

Ding!

[Your level has increased, but the Raise Undead Skill requires a higher proficiency in necromancy. Your current level is insufficient for the successful resurrection of higher-class undead creatures.]

The system's explanation brought clarity to the situation. Despite my overall level increase, the specific skill needed a more profound understanding of necromancy to command creatures of greater power.

Grim determination replaced frustration as I accepted the challenge laid before me. I needed to delve deeper into the mysteries of necromancy, unlocking the potential to control more formidable undead minions.

"Fine, I'll just have to get stronger," I muttered to myself, my gaze shifting to the ominous horizon where new challenges awaited.

With a renewed sense of purpose, I surveyed my surroundings, searching for any clues or resources that could aid my journey. The Goblin Leader's Orb had proven invaluable, and I wondered if there were other artifacts or information hidden amidst the aftermath of the battle.

As I moved forward, my heightened attributes and increased connection to the realm of necromancy bolstered my confidence. The encounters with goblins had been intense, but they served as stepping stones in my evolution within this strange reality.

The echoes of clanking bones accompanied my every step, a reminder of my skeleton goblins' loyalty. They had played a crucial role in the recent battle, and I knew their existence would be vital in the challenges ahead.

Amidst the eerie silence, I embarked on the next leg of my journey, guided by the unseen threads of fate in this world where survival demanded not only strength but also mastery over the arcane arts.
