Chereads / King Of Necromancer / Chapter 17 - New skill

Chapter 17 - New skill

I -Thud!

"This will do for now." Saying that I threw away the cup noodles that I stole...no that's not the right word.

Since the world is already at its doom and everyone is dying anyway, it doesn't matter if I stole or not.

After all, no one knows what will happen in the future from now on...

Sigh

Anyway, after defeating the goblin Shaman and the other three goblins, I moved away from there in a hurry. Because I know that other monsters will soon come to that spot to eat dead goblins.

After moving away from there, I walked inside the city of the Marin lines, and let me tell you, I wanted to puke at the sight in front of me.

Blood everywhere, dead bodies of humans. It didn't matter if it was a child or an elder citizen. Every one of them was dead.

I didn't find any survivors either, I was alone in the city at the moment.

So without any testing time, I snuck into a convenience store, picked up some cup noodles, and entered the abandoned building.

The night was already above, and it would be dangerous to roam around the city like this; who knows what type of monsters are still out there?

'I just hope that Aina, Mom, and Dad somehow survived this hell.' Then that was wishful thinking that I could think of at the moment.

"Hahaha, I didn't receive an answer from either." A bitter laugh escaped from my mouth as I muttered to myself.

I'm an idiot; I still think of all that useless stuff at this kind of moment. She didn't like me anyway.

"As for that fucker..."

-Punch!

-Bang!

A wall beside me cracked as I hit it with my full strength; some of my blood escaped from my hand, but at the moment, I wasn't feeling the pain as I remembered the face of Sandeep.

That bastard threw me off the bridge, and the memory fueled my anger.

Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself that survival in this twisted world was the priority. The emotions could wait, and the rage could simmer in the background until the immediate threats were dealt with.

I moved deeper into the abandoned building, finding a relatively secure corner to rest. The cup noodles would be a meagre comfort in the face of the nightmarish reality, but in this new world, one had to find solace in whatever fragments of normalcy remained.

Now it's time to fully understand this system.

"System opened status window." just as I completed the words the status window appeared in front of me.

Ding!

======

There are a few changes I get to see when I open my status window for example when I level up, for example, I get 2 attribute points which I can add to my strength, wisdom, vitality etc...

The second thing I noticed is that my mana limit went from 270 to 400 likewise my health to it's now 300.

Also at level one, I can make only 5 undead slaves but that went to 8 now.

'It's still low considering that I got a unique class but my level is only 2 so I can't complain about it.

Anyway, my eyes settled on [Sub-Ouests] and [Necromancer Quest]. Earlier when escaping from the train [Sub-Ouests ] and [Necromancer Quest] gave me a mission.

While the sub-quest reward was just 200 Gold coins, the Necromancer Quest rewarded a skill card a skill card when I made my first undead slave.

Ding!

[Sub-Ouests Reward:]

- [200 Gold coins]

- [900--> 1100 Gold coins]

The notification appeared, confirming the reward for the completed sub-quest. The additional gold coins might prove valuable in this unforgiving world.

Now, with anticipation, I tapped on [Necromancer Quest] to claim the reward.

Ding!

[Necromancer Quest Reward:]

- [Skill Card - Mana breathing] -->(Passive)

Ding!

[Necromancer Quest Reward:]

- [Skill Card - Mana Breathing] -->(Passive)

'What? Why would I get Mana Breathing from a Necromancer quest?' I pondered, momentarily puzzled by the unexpected reward. The system seemed to have its mysterious logic in doling out abilities.

Intrigued, I accessed the details of the newly obtained skill card.

---

**[Mana Breathing]**

- **Class:** General

- **Type:** Passive

-**Rank:**G

- **Description:** Mana Breathing enhances the user's ability to absorb mana from the surrounding environment, gradually replenishing their mana reserves over time. The effectiveness of this skill increases with the user's level and proficiency.

---

A sense of understanding dawned upon me. While the skill might not align with the typical arsenal of a necromancer, the ability to passively absorb mana could prove valuable, especially in a world where magical energy played a crucial role.

With the rewards claimed and new skills at my disposal, I continued my exploration within the abandoned building. The shadows seemed to whisper secrets, and the silence echoed the grim reality of a city once teeming with life.

As the night pressed on, I found a vantage point within the building to observe the surroundings. The remnants of humanity's struggle against an unknown calamity painted a sombre picture, urging me to adapt swiftly to this new existence.

With the cup noodles consumed and a makeshift bed arranged, I settled down for a restless night. The shadows danced around me, and the echoes of the past lingered in the corners of my consciousness. The darkness held both danger and opportunity and as a necromancer, I embraced the enigmatic journey that lay ahead.

The morning sun, obscured by the remnants of a city in despair, marked the beginning of another day in this twisted reality. The quest for survival continued, and with each step, I delved deeper into the mysteries of the underworld-infused world that had become my grim playground.
