Chereads / King Of Necromancer / Chapter 18 - Privileged?

Chapter 18 - Privileged?

"Hey, you fucker Gobline wise! Show yourself." I shouted at the top of my lungs. The morning had come and I was currently standing on the rooftop of the building where I was staying.

The view from here was nice at least that's what I wanted to say anyway. I could see the destruction of the city from here, I could also see the Marin beach and the broken bridge where I fell and died.

Thankfully I managed to revive by my S ranked skill otherwise I would be dead right now.

Currently, I was calling the Goblin who appeared on the subway train yesterday. There was something I wanted to ask him.

Last night I checked the system, and I got the gist of how I use it but I still do not know what I can do with gold coins.

I mean I have like [1100 Gold] and there is no instruction to use it.

[Haha, it is sad that things turned out like this. It was very interesting, Also you should watch yourself if you don't want to get killed by me.]

There was a sound effect before the Gonlin Wise's voice was heard.

The disembodied voice of Goblin Wise echoed, teasingly dancing on the edge between taunt and warning. The goblin's presence, still concealed in the shadows, added an eerie layer to the conversation.

I remained vigilant, scanning the surroundings for any signs of movement. The goblin's elusive nature made it clear that this encounter wouldn't be a straightforward one.

Soon enough the gobline wise appeared. I couldn't tell for sure from his expression alone, but this guy was interested

"Then kill me."

[...Huh?]

"Kill me."

[······.]

"You can't kill me?"

The Gobline Wise didn't move. It was natural. He was having a lot of fun with me right now. Furthermore, he wouldn't have come here to see me if he had been planning to kill me. For this guy, I had to survive here or I at least had to die miserably.

[Haha. You are making me angry. Look, now...]

The goblin big shaped eyebrows wriggled furiously.

"You can't kill me, you said that gods are watching this world which means, at this moment they must watching us too. Am I right?"

The goblin's eye turned red from anger as he gazed at me.

[Don't act Cocky, you human, If you test my limit I will kill you for sure.]

'Okay looks like I pushed my luck too much..'

Ding!

[God of Underworld is staring at Goblin Wise!]

My eyes widened as I heard the system notification, turning my head toward the goblin I found that his face turned pale.

[Oh! No! I was kidding a great God! It was merely a joke. I swear on my name.]

Goblin said as he turned his head toward the sky.

Ding!

[God of Underworld is given a warning to Gobline Wise.]

'God of Underworld..' If I'm not wrong the necromancer class I got from the card belonged to him.

Soon a smirk comes to my face. I don't know what this 'God of the Underworld' is but I know that it is my side.

[Yes! Of course, Great God I understand.] Goblin said as he received a warning from God.

"Hahaha." a laugh escaped from my mouth.

[What are you laughing at human?] Goblin said as he heard my laugh

"Hahaha. I find it amusing how Goblin Wise like you fears the wrath of the God of the Underworld. Maybe you should think twice before threatening me again," I replied a sense of satisfaction in my tone.

The goblin's frustration was palpable as he glared at me. It seemed that, despite his cunning and strength, there were forces beyond his control.

[Enough of this! I didn't come here for a theological debate. What do you want, human?] Goblin Wise growled, his irritation evident.

"I want information," I asserted, seizing the opportunity. "Tell me about the gold coins. How can I use them effectively, and what can they provide in this world?"

Goblin Wise, still smarting from the divine warning, hesitated before responding, [Gold coins are the currency of this world. They can be exchanged for various goods, skills, and even influence.]

"But how can I do that? there weren't any shop options on my system window." I asked with confusion on my face.

[About that, well you see...]

My eyes narrowed as I saw the goblin wise was hesitating but why? I don't think I asked something that couldn't be answered.

There is something he is hiding from me!

"What are you hiding, Goblin Wise?" I said as I pressured him with my question.

[You are smart for a human] Goblin Wise said as he let out a small sigh.

[Shop is available only if you are privileged]

"Privileged? What does that mean?" I inquired, sensing there was more to this revelation.

[Some individuals are granted privilege in this twisted realm. It could be bestowed by the beings overseeing this world or earned through unique feats. Privileged ones gain access to hidden shops, offering a wider array of goods and abilities. They are rare, and their influence can shape the course of this game. But let me tell you something human. No one in this world is privileged enough to open the shop.] Goblin Wise explained, his tone carrying a hint of both bitterness and envy.

"So, how do I become privileged?" I pressed, determined to unveil the secrets concealed within this mysterious system.

The goblin stared at me and said [ You can't.]

"That's some kind of sick joke?" what the hell is going on here? Why can't I become privileged?

A twisted grin appears on Goblin's face

[Because it's up to us to decide. And I will not permit you to become privileged. Hahaha]

The goblin's sinister laughter echoed through the desolate landscape, creating an unsettling atmosphere. It became evident that obtaining the coveted privilege was not merely a matter of personal choice but was influenced by the whims of those already holding power in this warped reality.

[Hahaha, you think becoming privileged is within your control? It's a game, and we are the players. The rules are set by forces beyond your comprehension. Your fate is in the hands of beings who revel in chaos and unpredictability.] Goblin Wise taunted, revelling in the revelation.

As the reality of the situation sank in, frustration and determination welled up within me. If the game's rules were dictated by capricious entities, then my path was fraught with uncertainty.

Wait minute! Did he say 'us' which means there are more goblins like him?

'Then there must be a way...' this time twisted grin appears on my face.
