Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Caution Is Better

"They really are amateurs and I guess that was the reason why they are called low level. If it wasn't for their stupidity I am sure that it wouldn't have been so easy for me to defeat them and it would have taken a lot more work."

Dick thought to himself. He knew that if they weren't so bad at defending themselves that it wouldn't have been so easy for him to penetrate their defenses.

Dick turned towards the other goblins as their foul breaths fanned his face. He watched as they bumped into each other slightly as they firmed their stances.

"You don't want to do this. Haven't you learnt from the others that I defeated." He asked them with a cocked brow.

They don't answer and he watched as two of them charged towards him and he sighed. "I guess we are doing this." He announced.

They tried to grab a hold of him but he was quick to dodge their movements as he side steeped term. He grabbed a hold of each of their arms twisting them backwards causing the goblins to cry out in pain. He raised their bodies into the air effortlessly before he was quick to slam their bodies down on the ground.

A loud crack was heard as their heads hit the ground.

[Two Goblins harvested.]

Dick turned around to face the rest of the goblins but before he could react he felt a sharp pain in his arm. He looked down at his bicep to see that one of the goblins had cut him with a blade.

This caused rage to flow through him. There were only a few goblins that were left and in a blind moment of rage he punched them in the stomach and gave a few of them uppercuts as he was able to easily decimate them.

One of them seemed to have not died completely as it stumbled towards him. He firmed his stance as he looked at the creature. He charged towards Dick and Dick was quick to dodge his movements.

Dick extended his foot causing the creature to trip. In the process it dug its claws into Dick's foot. Dick cried out in pain as the goblin fell to the ground. Dick held onto its neck tightly until he felt its breathing slow down before it went limp in his hold.

[ 2 Goblins Harvested.]

Mother nature had a funny way of working. Although, humans are seen to be superior to other creatures there are certain things that we could learn from creatures.

Goblins for one operate on a killer instinct and do not allow the fear of dying to stop them from taking down an opponent. They would be willing to risk their lives in order to win.

Humans on the other hand will run at the sight of a potential death. That is why often a times mages may lose a simply quest when they underestimate just how much goblins even low level ones are willing to fight in. order to survive.

For that Dick knew that he had to have some level of respect for the goblins .they didn't fear death but rather they ran straight towards it. Where he carried hesitation about facing his challenges head on they didn't and instead they were willing to risk everything and would walk right into the eye of the beast.

He had only gotten a few injuries and they had been enough to deter him in his steps. But they, even when he burnt their flesh were unwilling to back down and they still tried to defeat him.

He had to give them some form of credit for that as he knew that it wasn't easy and anyone else in that situation who wasn't a goblin would have run from the threat of getting killed.

Dick was apprehensive as he watched as several more goblins appeared around him. Their numbers were one that he hadn't anticipated and it seemed as though they had even lurking in the trees.

He had a slight limp in his foot and with the e injury on his arm it made it hard for him to use. His glow punch.

He watched as some of them pulled out weapons and he widened his eyes at the sight.

Dick was quickly alerted and it was in that moment that he made the decision that maybe it was time for him to retreat. although he wanted to defeat the goblins and finish the quest they were outnumbering him.

He wasn't willing to risk his own life in order to finish the quest. He was quick to turn away from them as he pushed a few of them aside before heading back to the forage of forest bushes.

He kept himself hidden and he watched as the goblins turned their gazes away from the other goblins whom had fallen as though barely being affected by their demise.

They began to search around the bushes trying to find Dick who remained still and just out of sight. Soon enough they heard.

A light rustling gin the bushes away from him and their attention was turned elsewhere. He was relieved when they quickly gave up their search for him after several failed attempts to locate him even though he was right under their thumb.

They didn't even care about the carcasses of their lost companions as they began to huddle together and make their way back to the fire.

They made it seem as though nothing had happened and they were quick to return to their previous positions. Dick knew that it wasn't over yet. But he couldn't help but wonder why they seemed to be so unbothered by everything.

[Low level goblins have fragile mental powers. You can use Psychic Pollution Abilities to increase their fear.]

Dick groaned at the system's words. "You couldn't have told me that earlier before you forced me to go out and fight them and end up getting injured. Don't you think that maybe all of this could have been avoided then." He cursed.

The system didn't respond to him as usual as he rolled his eyes. He guessed that it wouldn't really be a quest if he could have gotten the easy way out of it.

Dick closed his eyes as he tried to channel his psychic pollution abilities. He connected himself to their minds and eh tried to plant the seeds of a gruesome sight before them.

He made them imagine their flesh being torn from their bones before their bodies were set on fire. When he opened up his eyes again the sight brought a smile tohis face.

He watched as they screamed in pain as they fell to the ground and began to roll around as though trying to quench the flames from their bodies. He pictured them being hunted down by a high level goblin and watched as they tried to run away from it.

They continued to run around the forest floor out of fear. This time Dick decided that it was best for him not to kill them individually he had to be more careful.

He didn't want them to lash out at him with their dying breath and end up injuring him again. He didn't want to know how that would end.

He made his way out of the bushes once more as he watched them run around without uniformity. He decided that he would only injure them fatally individually one by one.

He approached the first goblin and he kicked him behind his knees knocking him to the ground. He took his blade and cut him behind his ankles leaving him unable to walk.

He turned towards the next goblin and he punched him in the chest causing him to stumble. He landed another punch to his knee causing him to fall to the ground.

He walked up to the next one and he lifted his foot before round kicking him in the face causing his body to go flying against a tree before knocking him unconscious. The others were still under the psychic pollution and he was able to reach them before he knocked them out as well.
