Chapter 13 - An Unexpected Visitor

Nia's POV

Waking up the next morning with a pounding headache, I groggily scanned the room for any sign of Juan, but he wasn't there. With my messy hair and a growing sense of unease, I reluctantly left the room in search of him.

To my utter shock, I found Juan engaged in a lively conversation with a girl who could only be described as the most stunning person I'd ever seen. My voice caught in my throat as I watched her, of all people, holding Juan's attention.

"Thanks for inviting me over, Juan," she purred, her voice dripping with affection. "I missed you so much, miss what we had." I couldn't help but clear my throat, drawing their attention to my presence.

"Good morning, mi amor," Juan greeted me with a warm smile. But before he could introduce her, she pushed him aside and enveloped me in an unexpected hug. I felt overwhelmed and confused because I just wanted to know who this enchanting intruder was.

"I'm Mencia," she introduced herself, finally stepping back.

"I've heard a lot about you," I replied, keeping a cautious distance. She flashed a fake smile and attempted to fix my messy hair, which was beyond embarrassing.

Deep down, I knew I shouldn't feel this way because Juan and I weren't in a relationship, but I couldn't help the jealousy that prickled within me. Then Juan gently took my arm and pulled me closer.

"I invited her over to help tutor you for the beauty contest," he explained, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Mencia here is a previous Miss SanCasas; she won the contes two years ago." She attempted to flaunt her hair in a cringe-worthy manner, which made me cringe even more.

"I feel you two would get along just well," Juan said, beaming at me with that mesmerizing smile of his. I couldn't help but be flustered by his charm.

"Excuse me, Juan?" Mencia chimed in, her tone dripping with faux sweetness. "I don't think Nia has the potential of winning the contest." Her seductive smile was aimed at Juan, and I braced myself for what would come next.

"Why do you think so?" Juan asked, genuinely puzzled by her comment. My heart raced, and I couldn't tear my eyes away from their interaction.

"Nia is the prettiest girl I've ever seen; she's winning that contest ," Juan responded with an unexpectedly warm compliment. I couldn't believe my ears. Juan had just complimented me for the very first time, and it sent a rush of warmth through me.

I noticed Mencia's smile fading as Juan praised me. She quickly changed her tactics, attempting to undermine my self-esteem.

"Actually, she looks so messy, and she even has a very bad posture," she sneered, making me self-consciously straighten my stance. She was trying to make me feel ugly and insecure in front of Juan, and her behavior was nothing short of well bitchy ..

I couldn't bear to stay in that awkward scene any longer, so I mustered my courage and muttered, "Excuse me," before hastily making my exit. The encounter had been beyond embarrassing, and I needed some space to process it all.

A few minutes later, Juan found his way over to me, concern etched on his face. "Are you okay?" he inquired, his voice laced with worry.

I sighed and admitted, "I told her about us a few days ago, but I didn't expect her to show up today."

"I don't like her," I confessed, the frustration and unease still lingering. I needed answers, so I pressed on, "What did she mean by 'what you two had together'?" My tone revealed the curiosity mixed with a hint of insecurity as I watched for his reaction.

He chuckled, which only intensified my curiosity. "Well, we grew up together," he began, his eyes scanning the room as he recollected the past. "When I left my dad's , her dad took me in, and one night, she confessed that she liked me. We got caught up in the moment, and, you know..." He trailed off, leaving me to fill in the gaps.

I felt a sudden surge of anger bubbling within me. It was an intimate history that I hadn't known about, and it stung to hear it now. But Juan's words cut through my frustration, softening the blow. "But it was nothing," he continued, his voice sincere. "I didn't feel anything. You're the first girl I've ever had a real connection with." His eyes locked onto mine, and a tender smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

I couldn't help but blush as his words sank in. "Let's go out tonight, to party," he suggested, breaking the moment. "Soon after, we..." he cut his sentence and smirked .

"After we what?" I purred, my voice taking on a sultry tone as I looked into his eyes, a sly smile playing on my lips.

In response, he leaned in closer, pressing against me, the heat of his body sending shivers down my spine. His minty and warm breath ,brushed across my face.

With a sense of urgency, he began to kiss my neck, his lips trailing a path of desire.

His lips continued their journey along my neck, and his left hand on my waist tightened as he tried to pull me even closer. With a sense of urgency, his right hand moved to remove my nightdress.

"Why are you so hot?" he whispered huskily into my ear, sending shivers down my spine. His lips found their way to my ni**les, gently sucking, causing me to moan out loud in pleasure.

His words, whispered with raw desire, added to the intensity of the moment. "I'm so attracted to you," he confessed, his voice filled with longing.

But just as the passion between us was reaching its peak, an unexpected interruption shattered the moment. We heard a knock on the door, and Mencia's voice called out, "Juan."

I couldn't help but wonder why she was here again. Annoyance welled up within me as she continued, "Please, it's really important. I have to see you."

At first, Juan didn't answer, his attention divided between the temptation before him and the persistent knocking at the door. He hesitated but eventually pulled away, a mix of frustration and desire in his eyes.

"Hey, please give me a minute," he said to me, then hurriedly left to meet Mencia, leaving me in a state of anticipation and curiosity.
