"Okay so here's what happened…"
I told Jordan everything. From the moment I woke to find that Billy had turned into a ravid, to the how I killed him, grieved him, how I did I small burial in the infirmary, how Lydia comforted me after, how I almost died to a black wasp, how I saved Rina, how I looked for him on the lower classroom floors.
All the while Jordan silently listened. I didn't know what he was thinking but I didn't stop talking either because regardless of how scared I was of his reaction the fact that I was finally telling him was like a weight lifted off my chest. By the time I was done telling the tale of how I killed the Second star eagle with the help of Lydia and Rina.
When I was finally done with my story I kept my head down. I didn't want to see his reaction at all.
A long silence was what I got. No yelling, no frustrated words no broken words. Silence and it made me all the more uncomfortable.
"You've been through a lot buddy"
Jordan spoke after what seemed like an eternity causing me to look up. I saw his face looking at me with a sad smile.
"W-what?" my voice sounded weaker than it was supposed to.
"What?" Jordan gave me a puzzled expression
"Aren't you angry?" I asked
"Of course I'm angry" Jordan didn't even spare a beat. "…but I'm also glad I didn't lose my only remaining best friend.
"J-Jordan…" my voice choked up. As a tear silently slid down my cheek. A heavy weight that I didn't know I was carrying was lifted off my chest.
"Hey hey why are you crying like a baby?"
"I'm not crying"
"Seriously stop crying and looking at me like that. People are gonna think dirty things"
"Seriously?!"
Lydia and Rina could only watch as the two of us bickered for a few more moments. Jordan and I continued to bicker back and forth for sometime.
"Hey Huey what level are you now?" Jordan suddenly asked
"Tsk…why don't you go first beetle killer" I taunted
"Hmph…I'll let you know that I'm at level 8 now" Jordan said with his nose up like an arrogant young master.
"Pfft…ha ha ha! Is that it?" I teased him
"Hey what's your deal man? Tell what level are you?"
"Alright" I motioned for him to come closer and I whispered it in his ear.
"WHAT! YOU'RE LYING!" Jordan's voice resounded throughout the entire gym causing everyone's attention to fall on us
"Shhh! Keep it down and besides I'm telling the truth…if I heal up I bet I can kill that eagle ten times over"
It was my turn to be arrogant. Jordan turned his head away from me as he mumbled complaints
As we were chatting
"Excuse me do you mind if we talk" I heard a soft voice from the distance causing everyone around me to look over.
A beauty with a silver hair and ice blue eyes was coming our way. Beside her was a black man with short hair as well as a blond guy who looked like prince charming.
"Woah…the ice fairy, prince charming and wait isn't that Mr. Ping the security guard?" I whispered to no one in particular. Luckily only those who were sitting around me were the ones who heard my comment and Jordan was having a hard time containing his laughter.
Knowing him I'm pretty sure he had the same thoughts as me when he first met these guys.
"Hello I'm Veronica Goldwin the student council president"
"What the student council president?" I looked at Jordan in surprise. Was the president always this beautiful? My eyes unconsciously fell on Lydia and Rina
"What are you looking at you pervert"
Lydia retorted noticing my stare but a light blush formed on her cheeks.
Ignoring her I looked at Veronica
"My name's Huey Coleman" I replied trying to act friendly
"These are Conrad White to my left and to my right we have_"
"Mr. Ping!"
"Good to see you well kid but please call me Grem" Mr. Ping said with as he smiled at me. I smiled at him.
"I see that you guys are already acquainted" Veronica said. "Now can we talk?"
"If its about the Monsoon eagle then don't bother asking I already told my friend here that I…no we killed it on our way here. Its also part of the reason why I'm in my current state"
I went straight to the point. Jordan had already told me that the group was planning to start the backup generators for electricity but since the eagle was terrorizing them they couldn't do that but that was before I stepped in and killed it.
Conrad sneered at me
"You want us to believe that you killed that vicious beast?"
"I don't care what you believe in" I shrugged nonchalantly.
Conrad grit his teeth and was about to say something else but Veronica interrupted him.
"Are you sure you killed it?" she asked
"Of course we did. Wasn't easy though"
"Alright"
Veronica nodded before she gestured towards Conrad.
"Come on lets get a few people ready. When the rain stops we get two groups. One group will go get the generator running while another will have to go to the cafeteria to gather pots as well as food supplies."
Veronica gave out her orders. She truly was an excellent leader as Conrad immediately got to work organizing the people. Of course most of them were unwilling to go out but after reassuring them that the eagle from before had been eliminated, some volunteered.
15 people were selected. 5 would go with Grem to start the generators while Veronica and Conrad would lead the rest to the cafeteria. Jordan would stay here and keep the order. Of course Lydia, Rina and myself would help as much as we could with this
