Two weeks later-: Manticore eSports Club, City A
"Has anyone seen Alex? Coach was looking for him, also coach wanted everyone in the conference room. " Kira spoke as he looked towards his teammates in their shared practice room playing different games.
"He might be in the garden or his room." Michael spoke from his seat without turning around to look at him as Kira left the practice room and went to Alex's room first
There he saw Alex, He was laying in bed while holding a book, "Hey Kira, What brings you to my room."
Truthfully, Kira never noticed Alex was always wearing a mask, it was only after the tournament that he noticed the mask on Alex most of the time. "Hey Alex, Coach was looking for you. He said to bring you over to the meeting room."
"Alright, I'll be right behind you just have to change clothes." Kira had left the room and went to the conference room. The others were already sat down at their respective seats, soon Alex would walk in and the coach with the manager beside him had started talking.
The topic about was the previous tournament , They were clearly looking for a scapegoat for the loss. The players had a calm look on their faces apart from Kira, Alex, and the coach.
When Alex turned his head he saw his teammates apart from Kira like they expected this to happen. While the manager spoke, A person entered the room and sat beside him.
When the manager saw him enter, he immediately put their focus towards him, " This is James Smith or more known as Desfall. He'll be your new team captain."
Alex looked at the manager with his eyes wide open, "Excuse me??? How come I wasn't notified of this change?" The manager scoffed at him.
"As shown by the video earlier, this change is necessary. Upper Management has decided to replace you, As for how you were notified, That isn't our problem." The manager spoke condescendingly towards him before standing.
"You're being benched Alex, It's effective immediately consider yourself notified now." James had a smug smirk on his face as he looked at Alex's surprised face.
"So I'm getting replaced by the manager's nephew. I guess your uncle's friends at NCG had enough of you ruining their team then?" Alex snapped towards James before angrily standing up and taking off his team jacket, leaving it on the seat.
He angrily stormed into his room and started packing up his stuff when Kira entered the room and saw Alex packing up everything he owns.
"Captain, Calm down." Kira tried to speak to him but he was ignored. He could hear Alex grumble about spending 3 years helping them reach the top only to be kicked out, Ungrateful rats, and Degenerates.
"CAPTAIN!" Kira yelled and Alex turned his back to see Kira at the doorway. Alex would only then stop and sit down on the bed looking towards Kira
"What is it Kira? Are you here to say goodbye? Don't even bother." Alex sighed heavily as he zipped up the duffel bag.
"I didn't know you were going to get replaced as well, even the coach was surprised as well. The other three on the other hand... It seemed like they knew." Kira spoke dejectedly as Alex now felt disappointed instead of angry.
"Kira, you should leave me be for now." Alex stood up and made Kira leave his room before closing the door then walking over to his nightstand and grabbing a phone hidden in it's drawer
He contemplated for a moment before opening the contact list and called the only number present in it.
"Young Master, You've finally called using this number, Are you ready to come how now?" An elderly voice spoke through the phone.
"Yes, I'll be coming home. Tell Grandpa I lost the bet."
