General Matthias looked to her in surprise.
"I hadn't considered that before," He confessed.
He'd been so focused on trying to find a solution for the deadlock, that he had overlooked this detail.
"What should we do then?" He sighed in defeat.
Athena pondered for a moment, "Why not use me as bait to lure them into action?"
"What?"
"The Insurgence had tried to capture me once. Surely they would want to do so again. Especially after how I killed some of their people," Athena suggested.
"Wait, killed some of their- You're the Kiss of Death?" Matthias lit up in shock.
"Kiss of Death?" She echoed his words.
She'd never heard of this term before.
"We received word sometime back about a mysterious case. A group of the Insurgence were found dead. All of them poisoned and foaming from the mouth. The poison could not be identified and rumors began to spread."
"What rumors?"
