The goblin's head flew away from its body and rolled on the concrete road before stopping but no one paid it any attention. Larcen picked up the baseball bat and gave it to the guy whom he had just helped before looking around to find someone strong or skilled to give his weapons to.
Other than the athletic-looking guy he had just saved, he found two more people who actually seemed skilled. One of them was a tall guy who seemed to know how to survive instead of properly fighting as he used the random things he could find near him as weapons which made him extremely unpredictable.
Larcen then glanced at the other strong one and she was the only girl who was actually fighting and she was fighting better than most guys in the group. He first decided to help the guy first as he was closer.
He didn't use his flow state and simply ran towards him while he took off his bag before swinging it at one of the three goblins he was fighting. The creature yelped and its comrade turned its attention towards him before swinging its dagger at him which he barely evaded.
He then swung his machete and used the extra range to his advantage while he tossed the bag to the guy.
"Pick one of the two from the bag."
The guy ignored his words and used the bag itself as a weapon, imitating what Larcen had done a few seconds ago but was just better at it. The bag hit the goblin on its head and before it could recover, its head was banged more than ten times, killing it.
The guy didn't waste a single second and dashed towards the goblin that was hit by Larcen at first and repeated the pounding process before helping Larcen with the last goblin.
The system points went back to 9 with the third kill. The guy unzipped the bag and looked inside before picking up the axe. He then held the baseball bat in his left hand before dropping the bag down.
"Mike. My name. Thanks"
Larcen nodded but his attention was on the girl who was fighting the goblins with a crowbar. He could clearly tell that she was exhausted but before he could help her out, he saw Mike dash towards her at a speed that was almost double of his.
He knew that his job was taken away but he didn't care much as he decided to help out the one closest to him and to his surprise, he saw familiar faces.
It was Benjamin and the two girls. The poor guy used a car door to block attacks from the goblins while the girls stood behind him. Larcen began walking towards them and slowly sped up. He was about to slash the goblin nearest to him when he felt something hit his back.
He was sure that it was a blunt object from the point of contact but his ribs hurt like crazy as he stumbled forward. Unable to control his speed, he lost balance and landed face-first on the road but that was not the end as his body moved forward a whole extra meter, leaving streaks of blood on the concrete road.
The pain from the fall wasn't too much and he didn't feel any pain from losing skin from half of his face and some parts of his body too. The only thing he felt was numbness and the inability to stand back up.
He really hoped that a random goblin wouldn't attack him when he was helplessly lying on the ground and luckily, nothing of the sort happened. He didn't know what was going on but he could hear the sounds of heads being smashed.
It took him a whole minute to regain control of his limbs but along with that came immeasurable pain that assaulted the right side of his body which took the brunt of friction. His clothes had a few holes and his skin was peeled off.
He limped as he stood up and looked around. There weren't too many Goblins left anymore and as their numbers fell to less than ten, their buff was removed and they weren't too much of a threat anymore.
Just when he thought that he could rest easy, he saw a group of more than twenty goblins running towards them which reactivated the buff. Out of the eighteen humans he had seen a few minutes ago, only sixteen remained alive.
Larcen knew he wouldn't survive if he fought so he began to run, only to stumble and fall back down again.
"Fuck!", he cursed out loud and stood back up angrily as he opened the shop. He now had 11 SP and he decided to use it all. Two pills appeared on his palm a second later and without wasting any time, he tossed them into his mouth before directly swallowing them.
The next second, he saw two notifications on the screen.
{Consumed Pill of Stamina - +0.1 Stamina}
{Consumed Body Regeneration Pill - Healing all non-fatal injuries}
He could feel his body tingling. Especially the places where his skin was absent and he also felt light. His lungs seemed to have gotten clearer as he felt like he could take a long breath without coughing like a dying patient.
He pushed the screen away and focused on the oncoming Goblins instead of thinking of running away. Taking a deep breath, he tightened his grip around the handle of the machete before glancing at the people who were fighting the remaining goblins of the last group and the ones who were facing the new group like him.
The last eight goblins from the previous group were quickly reduced to two but the new group of Goblins had already reached their group. Mike ran headfirst into the group while the fighter girl followed right behind him.
Larcen's heart raced as he stared at the two of them running into the group. No one noticed the crazy smile on his face, not even himself.
