"Goodd!" Maverick said loudly, his arm hanging around Goodd's neck so heavily that the smaller boy was forced to lower his head. "We have a new student here. Come say hi!"
Goodd timidly looked up at Olivia, and hatred was evident in his eyes. But it wasn't the same hatred Badd had when she looked at Olivia in their universe. It seemed like Goodd's disdain for her came from the assumption that she was in cahoots with Maverick.
How ironic, Badd (or should she say, Goodd) had one of her goons bullying her (or rather 𝘩𝘪𝘮 in this universe).
"There's no need, Amada." Olivia shook her head, walking toward Goodd. "Just let go of him."
Maverick looked hesitant to follow her, but he did so anyway.
Goodd continued giving her a dirty look as if she was the one harassing him.
Olivia walked toward him and leaned, giving Goodd a closer look.
"W-w-what?" Goodd demanded, looking away from her scrutinizing gaze. "What do you want?"
"What's your name?" Olivia asked.
"What is it to you?" Goodd would've spat at her if he could.
"Hey!" Maverick warned, but Olivia blocked him with her arm.
"I'm Olivia Twyne," She gave out her hand, smiling gently. "I'm new here. I hope to get along with you."
Goodd's cheeks suddenly flared red. Hesitantly, he took her hand and shook it.
"I-I'm Alexander Goodd," He stammered in a small, unsteady voice. Then, a realization struck him. "How are you related to--"
"But we call him 'Gooddie Gooddie.'" Maverick interjected.
"Just like in my universe, they call Badd 'Baddie,'" Olivia mused. "Though I don't think the context of how they say Goodd's name is the same as hers..."
Goodd blinked. "What?"
She shook her head, forcing a smile again.
"It's nothing."
"OLIVIA!" A voice angrily roared from behind them.
All three of them looked at the source of the voice, only to see Oliver seething and JaNyx panting and trailing behind him.
Upon spotting Oliver, the color drained from Maverick and Goodd's faces.
"Sh*t, gotta go," And with that, Maverick walked away and disappeared from sight.
"I... I also need to--" Goodd was about to turn his heels, but Oliver suddenly ran toward them.
He winced, expecting Oliver to beat him up again.
But Oliver didn't have his attention on Goodd.
Instead, he grabbed Olivia's collar and pulled her closer to him.
There were only a few people left in the garden since lunchtime was about to end, but the remaining people who did see them gasped and started murmuring.
"Olivia," Oliver said through gritted teeth. "I was looking for you."
"We," JaNyx corrected as he tried removing Oliver's hand from Olivia's. "Hey, you said you don't hurt girls. Stick to your principles."
With a scoff, Oliver let go of her collar and pushed her, causing Olivia to stumble backward. Thankfully, Goodd caught her back before she could land on the grass.
Olivia glared at Oliver as she gathered her composure.
"What's with the look?!" Oliver shouted. "I literally saved your life by bringing you to the clinic!"
"I could handle myself--" Olivia winced. Her head injury was starting to hurt again.
"No, you can't! You literally fainted!" Oliver pointed accusatorily. "Look, you look like you're about to faint again!"
"Please, don't fight." JaNyx laughed wearily. "Oliver, do I need to remind you that Olivia has a head injury--"
"Which she probably deserved!" Oliver crossed his arms like a kid.
JaNyx frowned."Don't say that, man."
"Well," Olivia crossed her arms as well, making JaNyx raise an eyebrow at how similar their mannerisms were. "You deserve to get slapped!"
This only angered Oliver even more. He tried to seize Olivia's collar again, but JaNyx shielded Olivia from him.
"Oliver, please," JaNyx pleaded. "Let's all calm down and be reasonable young adults here.'
In the background, Goodd eyed Oliver, then Olivia, then JaNyx, who raised both hands in front of the two Twynes in an attempt to calm both of them down.
Like that dinosaur keeper meme.
"What the hell is going on...?" Goodd muttered, causing the 'dinosaur keeper' and two 'dinosaurs' in question to look at him.
"Oh," Oliver said. "You're still here."
Goodd blinked, pointing at himself.
"Obviously," Oliver rolled his eyes before shooing him away. "Go away, Goodd. We're busy."
Right on time, the bell rang, signaling the start of their afternoon classes. The people around them started heading toward their classes, leaving the four of them standing under the shade of the huge tree.
Goodd looked at Olivia worriedly, to which she replied with a dismissive shake of her head.
"I'll be okay, Goodd," Olivia assured, giving him another gentle smile again. "Please go to your class."
Goodd gasped, and the blush on his cheeks intensified. "A-are you sure? Twyne will hurt you--"
"He won't," Olivia said firmly. "I know he won't."
"He will!" Goodd insisted. "He's the type of person who won't hesitate to throw you into a well!"
"Been there, done that," Olivia said, more to herself than to him. "Please, Goodd." She pleaded, addressing him now. "Go."
Goodd was unsure if he should follow her pleading but decided to follow it anyway. He gave one last glance at Oliver and JaNyx before running toward the hallway.
Once Goodd was completely out of view, JaNyx looked at the two Twynes with an irritated look on his face.
"I can't believe I'm missing class because of you two."
"Oh?" Olivia blinked. "You're studious in this universe, JaNyx?"
"I just don't wanna lose my scholarship," JaNyx explained before scratching the back of his head, giggling. "You're really calling me JaNyx! At last, someone who respects me enough to use my IGN!"
He then turned his attention to Oliver, nudging him.
"I know," Oliver rolled his eyes. "You already said that I should learn from her. You don't need to repeat it."
JaNyx authoritatively placed his hand on his hips. "I 𝘥𝘰 need to repeat it because you never seem to learn!"
He looked at Olivia, smiling creepily at her.
"Stop making that face," Oliver reprimanded. "You're gonna freak her out."
But Olivia often saw the same expression on the JaNyx of her universe, so she didn't interpret it as 'creepy.' It was just her version of looking excited.
She assumed that this JaNyx was probably the same.
"So," JaNyx drawled. "I've been waiting to ask this since I saw you, but..."
"Stop," Oliver facepalmed. "Nyx, I swear to God if you continue--"
Olivia gestured for him to continue.
So he did.
"Is the JaNyx in your universe hot?"
It was Olivia's turn to facepalm.
