Miley drank a cup of water in the living room as she stared blankly at the lawn in the yard from the window. Upon hearing a car enter the driveway, she peeked her head.
"Dr. Kelvin, Nice to see you again." Miley greeted.
"Miley, do you want to change the dressings in the living room or are you comfortable in your bedroom?" Kelvin respectfully allowed Miley to choose for herself.
"Let's go to the living room. The wounds are on my face and arms, so I don't have to lie on the bed to get the dressing changed." Miley led Kelvin.
"Is Dexter at home?" Kelvin asked.
"No. Dexter hasn't been back for two days." Miley said flatly.
"Did you two have any disagreement?" Kelvin asked her with a bewildered look on his face.
"No. We don't
." It was obvious that she didn't want to talk about the issue between her and her husband.
"Ahh... Let me change the dressing for you first and examine the scab on the wounds. Have you touched water these days?" Leaving their situation aside, Kelvin opened the medicine cabinet, put on his mask and gloves, and began preparing to change the bandage for Miley.
"I've been taking the drugs you prescribed for me and they have been quite effective," Miley said. "Dr Kelvin, would you like me to make you some coffee?" Miley added.
"Yes, quite a bit," Kelvin replied.
She then proceeded to the kitchen. Miley soon finished making three cups of coffee, one for herself and the other two for Tina and Kelvin.
"Dr Kelvin, try this one. It's the new bean of the year."
Kelvin picked up the cup and took a sip. It had a bitter and fragrant sensation. If people found it too sour, they could add a little sugar and milk. But Kelvin preferred the original flavour.
"It's good. It's grounded very carefully. You must have been making coffee for a long time now, haven't you?" Kelvin inquired curiously.
"There is a professional coffee machine here. I make use of it when I am free." She said.
"The machine was specially ordered from Italy by you. You used to prepare coffee for Mr Lombard every day." Tina reminded.
"Uhh...." Miley said after a short pause.
-----
"Dr Kelvin, we met before I lost my memory, right?"
"No. I have heard a lot about Miss Miley but we haven't personally met. Sam and I recently transferred to X hospital recently." Kelvin said as he took a photo of the coffee and sent it to Dexter.
"Dr. Kelvin. We've seen each other twice already. You are welcome to call me Miley as Miss Miley sounds too formal. What do you think?" She raised her eyebrows at Kelvin.
"Okay then, I shall refer to you as Miley while you can call me Kelvin and take me as your brother." Kelvin looked at her cheerfully.
"Okay," Miley said before she nodded her head.
Meanwhile, Dexter just ended a video conference and hadn't had lunch yet. When he received the message from Kelvin, he felt quite uneasy.
'It seems that doctors nowadays have nothing better to do. How do they find time to drink coffee during working hours?"
"What's the matter, Kelvin? Why did you send me this picture?"
Then he replied, "The coffee brewed by our new barista is out of this world! It's so smooth and delicious. So, naturally, I thought of telling you first. It's your cup of tea, Dexter. Or rather, your cup of coffee."
He almost burst out laughing as he typed the message. Nothing in the world delighted him more than infuriating Dexter.
"That's great, Kelvin. Does that mean you're going to send over a complimentary cup of this amazing drink for me?"
"Sadly, no," Kelvin answered, pretending to sound sorry, "We don't do deliveries, I'm afraid. Our customers are more than happy to come to us. That's how good our coffee is, as you know."
"Then stop wasting my time," Dexter replied and annoyingly turned off his phone.
When Dexter was on the way to his Villa, he saw a familiar figure. He hesitated for a moment before he drove over to where Sam's car was stuck.
He was speaking to someone on the phone outside of the car, holding an umbrella shielding his head from the rain.
Seeing Dexter, Sam was slightly surprised.
He greeted Westley in an indifferent tone, "Why are you here?"
Without a word, Dexter raised his eyebrow and took one look at the wheels stuck in the mud pit. Since it was raining so heavily, a large portion of the wheel was wedged firmly in the mud, it was impossible to pull the car out by hand.
