Chapter 41 - Start of training

He removed all the thoughts of the other alliance and focused on Ayaz and Elie and asked,

[Well, it will be much better than the opposite.]

[Nope.]

He sighed and looked around the class. There were many still surrounding Sam and Chris While others were moving out of the class.

He did not waste any time and asked,

Kane took some time and said, [You know what, let's just blend into some group and leave the class.]

[Bro, it's better to stop that bitch tomorrow first, then start with other plans. After so much drama I feared she might confront you today, so better leave the class.]

Well, from the start he was not much interested in making friends, so he stood up and joined a random group around him to blend in and left the class.

The main building had nothing but 5 classes. He moved downstairs to the hall and saw many from different classes talking among themself sharing their experience.

Without any doubt, the center of their topic was competition and groups. He did not want to get involved with anyone, so he moved out of the main building.

As he moved out, the wooden badge started blinking in his pocket. Checking the badge, he found a new notice.

There were a few lines congratulating him for joining the academy, and then a list of free awards appeared below it that he could claim.

In was a bunch of basic stuffed Kane told him about, like basic weapons, healing potions, some day-to-day stuff, and more. After the message, students rushed outside in masses toward different buildings to claim their rewards.

Kane said at this moment, [Forget about the reward. It is better if we use our time productively than to waste it standing in line.]

He nodded,

[Well, we cannot learn the mana arts until the spirit egg hatch. So it is better to train the body.]

[Nah, I don't want to waste the work I did to correct your kick and punch form. Trust me, I know what a strong body can do. With the strong recovery of this world, I know after the training we are going to be a force to reckon with and many mana arts even need body training, so forget everything else.]

He compared the low copper potential with Kane's expert opinion and it became very easy for him to go with Kane's decision. Even he wanted to see what he could achieve with his body.

[Haha, let's start with running.]

He was about to rush onto the tracks when Kane said, [Nope, forget about the track. You need to go behind the academy.]

He started moving and asked,

[Nah, I have a much better place in mind.]

He was confused as he only knew 3 places to train and Kane already rejected all of them. 'Is there some other advanced training area?' He thought to himself and started following Kane's direction.

Soon, he walked past all the domes and crossed the last end of the track into the forest. He moved 100 meters deep into the forest when Kane said, [Stop. We reached our training ground.]

The surrounding scene surprised him. The trees were so densely packed that he could not see past a few meters and the roots were going out of the ground here and there, making it very hard to walk.

Kane did care about his reaction and said, [Perfect, do some warm-ups and start running in parallel to the track.]

[Oh, you tell me what you gonna work out on when you run on track?]

[Only those 2 things. Now look in front of you. It is a natural track full of obstacles. See those roots covered in algae? Those are perfect for balance training. Those bushes and low branches will make you jump. The thick tree trunks blocking your version will make you shift left and right, good for agility and quick decision-making. Those-]

He stopped complaining and started doing some stretching to lose his body.

A few minutes later, he took the stance and stared at the gap between the two trees.

Kane shouted, [Go!]

He launched with full energy, taking big steps. Ten seconds in, he slid on the root, falling hard on the ground.

[hahaha] Kane started laughing.

He lay on the green algae as he realized this was going much harder. Not wasting time, he got up and started running again. Not even a minute passed he was again on the ground, and again and again. The cycle continued to repeat for hours.

Drake was in mud from head to toe. His clothes were in a mess, with some holes here and there. There was blood seeping out of scratches all over his limbs.

Not caring about any of that, he got up and bent down to take the stance. It was tiring. There were multiple blue spots on his limbs, sending pain to his brain. He had trouble breathing. Sweat was dripping from his eyelids and chin.

Even with all that, he had a massive grin on his face. The taste of addicting soil, the smell of damp algae on his body, the buzzing of insects, the surrounding green, and the softness of leaves all excite him.

Bum, Bum Bum Bum!

The loud beating heart trying to tear out of his chest, all of this felt unreal. He never had this feeling before, the feeling of being alive. He loved it; he wanted more, and he would not leave it.

Drake pushed from his legs and started his next sprint.
