Prologue: Nearly dead

Tatsuya is an orphan but is said to be the descendent of Saiki Shindo, in terms of strength the strongest of the 7 great hunters. His real parents are unknown. The family that adopted him died in an attack of demons but the people think that the one who killed them was not a demon but himself.

Tatsuya has black eyes and hair. His height is 5.5 ft.

It is the year 2012 and the world is not what it was. There are many creatures called demons who can kill you anytime. It is very rare to meet a demon on the street because there are many hunters in the organization that keeps the streets safe. The world is divided into 7 continents and the organisation is active in all the 7 continents. The world population is estimated to be 1 billion but the true population is 2 billion. There are many things which the public don't know about the organisation. The organization is trying to keep the peace for the last 200 years.

Tatsuya is living in a apartment and has a part time job. His life was normal but he is different. He has a broken gate. A gate is something inside the human body which prevents the body from absorbing the divine energy around him. Use of excessive divine energy can decrease the lifespan of people. The gates can be either sealed or broken. Broken gates are rare and have great talent. But they can die young due to the excessive usage of divine energy.

He is living a normal life and is a high schooler.

Today is a normal day like any other. He wakes up from his bed and does his routine. He then goes to school.

In the way to school a girl is waiting for him on the road. She has beautiful brown hair. Her eyes are blue. She is a girl with a good figure and is taller than tatsuya. She is 5.7 ft. They have been friends for a while year . They are going to the same high school.

She is looking at the sky with a worried face. Tatsuya calls out to her "Shizuka!"

Shizuka turns her face towards him and says "Ah you came."

"Did you wait for long?" Tatsuya asked

"No. Not at all." Shizuka answered.

They both started walking.

"You seem worried about something. What happened?" Tatsuya asked

"There are new rules issued by the organization." Shizuka said

"Rules?"

"Yes, they are issuing a rule for highschoolers to join the organization after they complete their highschool." Shizuka explained

"So we have to join the organization?"

"Yes, if we don't we will have to pay a heavy penalty."

"Hmm..."

"So have you decided what you are going to do? I think we should join the organization. You are strong unlike me and the organization provides good benefits too" Shizuka said

"You want to join the organization?" Tatsuya asked

"If you join I think I have no choice"Shizuka said

"What do you mean by that? You don't have to force yourself"

Suddenly a sword comes flying and leaves a hole in tatsuya's chest. It was a katana not too long neither too short. He starts coughing blood.

"TATSUYA!!!!" Shizuka screamed and looked behind and saw a guy with white hair.

"Don't move or the next one will go to his head" the guy said.

"What do you want" Shizuka shouted

"I have no business with you. I am just here to kill him." The guy replied.

"Why are you doing this" Shizuka cried

"It is none of your business" the guy said

Tatsuya falls to the ground.

The man addresses himself as a semi S class.

*People who are nominated for S class are called Semi S class*

The man says that if she keeps quit and doesn't tell anyone about him then he will think of leaving her.

Shizuka is not able to move a muscle. She is crying.

The guy grabs the katana. He pulls it out. Tatsuya's body twitches and stops moving. The blood flows out.

Shizuka cries and screams "NOOOOOO"
