She always thought the duke was referred to as a beast because of the unsightly scar on his face. She had no idea it was because he was just like Lola, who turned into a wolf on the night of the full moon.
"My lady," Damian broke the ice after minutes of embracing the shaking lady in his arms. "You need to go back inside. It's cold out here," he mumbled quietly. Damian felt something was wrong about his body and he already guessed it was because of the lady he was hugging.
Knowing this, he pulled away from the hug while avoiding her eyes. "Let's go. I'll walk you to your room," Damian said and offered a hand to escort the lady.
Calista took his hand. She found the warmth he emitted soothing.
