Morning came and Calista woke up to her maid calling her name. Lazily, she pulled herself up to sit, stretched her arms and legs, and yawned. The bright sunlight coming through the window and the warm breeze blowing throughout the room made her even more sleepy.
"Ugh. My body's heavy, Lola. I don't think I can leave the bed," Calista mumbled, rubbing her eyes with both hands. She looked at her maid with groggy eyes and sighed. "Can you wake me up later again? I need an hour or two more sleep," she added, curling her body under the sheets.
"Oh. This is so nice," Calista whispered with a satisfied smile. "Lola, leave the windows open. The sunlight feels pleasant in the morning," she added and snuggled her face into the pillow.
Lola let the lady be for five minutes before she dropped the bomb. "The duke has invited you to a meal," the maid said without batting her eyelashes. She watched her lady throw the sheets and jump off the bed.
