Chereads / Chaos Harbinger: God Of Destruction / Chapter 7 - Hidden Mission

Chapter 7 - Hidden Mission

Hori furrowed his brows, well, attempted to furrow his brows. After trying to make the movement, he was reminded that he was incapable of movement, at least temporarily.

"What does observation mean?" He asked softly. He understood what the swordsmanship meant but he didn't understand what observation meant.

Ding! Observation: It allows you to see the stats and information about other people that you come across

Ding! Restriction: Can't be used on beings with a wide power variation between themselves and the host

Ding! Warning: When used against stronger people, they will notice. Increase the level to annul this side effect

"Oh…". Hori muttered. "Can I use it against Derek?"

Ding! If host uses it against the aforementioned person then he will notice

"Do it!"

Name: Derek Haynes

Identity: Young Master of the Haynes Family

Race: Human

Rank: Sixth Level Apprentice Mage

Element: None

Attributes

Strength: 89

Speed: 94

Agility: 96

Intelligence: 35

Skills: Swordsmanship

Title: None

Remark: Young male with good fortune

Hori felt his head spinning when he saw Derek's stats. How was he supposed to escape from someone that was that much stronger than him.

While he was thinking this, he didn't notice that Derek had already started moving. He stood completely still until…

"What the fuck?!" He felt as Derek shoved the handful of dirt on his mouth.

He staggered backward out of reflex, then clutched his lips, feeling the rough texture of the dirt that surrounded it.

Hori didn't know where he got the courage to do what he did next. He didn't even know what events followed his sudden burst of confidence, all he knew was that two minutes later, he laid on the floor, every single part of his body aching all at once.

Damnit! This is all those thrash editors fault. If only they could recognize true genius.

A low sounding groan escaped his lips as he slowly sat up. The thrash MC that beat him to this stage should've been long gone by now.

He began to ponder his situation. According to what he wrote in the first volume, he only had five years until the bored god finally decides to destroy the entire world.

A banging headache assaulted him as he thought about how he was supposed to get stronger than a god in five years. In the grand scheme of things, this character was utterly thrash. He probably wouldn't be able to reach the Sorcerer rank in his lifetime.

He thought back to the main character. The main character also had a thrash talent until he stumbled upon the spirit demon core in the abyss.

But he couldn't go to the abyss.

Ding! Host has unlocked hidden mission

Mission: Go to the demon abyss and retrieve the spirit demon core

Spirit demon core - effects

Gives whoever infuses it unlimited potential allowing them to reach even the highest ranking of mages. Has no known side effects. Extremely sought after by other powerful mages

Rewards: 1x meditation technique

"Can I at least get a weapon?" Hori muttered hopefully. He didn't feel that the system was heartless enough to send him to an abyss filled with demons without at least giving him a weapon.

Ding! Host cannot get a weapon at this time

"What? Why?"

Hori was briefly taken aback by the words of the system. Why couldn't he get a weapon. Wasn't the system sent to assist him. Then again it was called The God Punishment System, so he didn't feel it was wise to get his hopes up.

Ding! Host is broke

Hori's cheeks turned pink from embarrassment. At that moment he remembered vaguely the reason why Arthur and the main characters were such enemies.

The main character had gotten everything that Arthur had wanted, he came from a rich family whereas Arthur was born in the streets, he had loving parents whereas Arthur had no one to look after him.

It would've been fine if the main character had any form of talent in magic. By the age of fifteen, an average child should've reached the apprentice rank. The main character had yet to start circulating mana.

Arthur felt like the main character was wasting heaven's gift and hence punished him on behalf of the heavens.

"So I'm on my own then?"

Ding! Host had been borrowed camouflage suit

Camouflage suit - effects

Allows the wearer to completely blend in with their surroundings. Has no effect on high level demons

"That's all?" Hori raised a brow.

System can retract its gifts if you want

"I'm good". Hori said hurriedly.

Mission commences now
