Chapter 27 - Crimson Wing

In a vast world populated by monsters and beasts, filled with magic and those who could create miracles out of nothing, there were many paths to power.

Naturally, most divided the world into two sides, white and black, it was the nature of humans, and there was only one question: Which side to join?

Situations were different and so were the mages, so it was often possible to meet a so-called Dark Mage, although it was a general concept that had nothing concrete.

The only thing that could be said about Dark Mages was that it was hard to find a good person among them, and many of them used forbidden arts, and demonic art was one of them.

"Well... Well... I've been revealed, after all. Hmm, I was expecting it to happen a lot sooner, so I had some hope that it would go smoothly, but that was overconfident..." Drakar muttered, shaking his head.

Whoooooooooosh.

Without hesitation, Halvor threw his axe straight at Drakar. The sharp blade, spinning at tremendous speed cut through the wind currents, quickly reaching Drakar's neck.

Drakar's eyes went wide as he abruptly spun around, retreating to the side. The flaming blade swept before his calm green eyes, it seemed that the Frist Circle Amplifier's attack wasn't something for him to worry about.

"You know, throwing away your weapon in the first attack is a big mistake." Drakar muttered, turning to Halvor, only to see his devious smirk.

Then, a wave of shivers passed through Drakar's body as he ducked sharply, at the last moment dodging the fiery axe that flew over his head.

"Tsk." Halvor snorted, catching his axe.

Ruby's and Lana's eyes sparkled with amazement, for it seemed to them that Halvor had almost won and was just a little unlucky.

However, Evan and Klaus had a completely different reaction. They realized that Drakar had done it as carelessly as a simple walk.

Drakar glared at them, causing Ruby and Lana to shiver.

"Oh, one mage, two rookies, and three commoners... If I were in a different position, I might have started to worry, but... Now I have you trapped!" Drakar exclaimed, waving his hand and turning towards one of the pods.

On his coat, everyone saw the symbol of two crimson wings, with blood dripping from their tips.

"Crimson Wing...? Fuck, things are bad..." Klaus muttered with a slight shiver.

"By the looks of it, he's far from the best opponent we could face, isn't he?" Evan asked, stepping forward.

Klaus nodded.

"Crimson Wing is in some ways a pretty well-known organization. Known for not recruiting crazies or psychopaths into their ranks, but rather confident and cold-blooded mages who have chosen the dark side with clear goals. However... what is more important is that some of the members of Crimson Wing are wielded in the demonic arts..."

Drakar raised an eyebrow, "Damn, how does a mere commoner have such knowledge? Guys, this boy is definitely hiding something from you. Although... why am I even telling you this if you're not getting out of here alive?"

Then, with a wave of his hand, Drakar broke through the flesh capsule, releasing a black monster in a copious stream of white liquid.

A few seconds, was enough for the black monster to regain consciousness and begin releasing its fellows, one by one.

Halvor was ready to attack, but as soon as he took a single step, Drakar's palm was on Reine's neck, sleeping and innocent. Despite the chaos going on, she was unaware of anything.

"Hush. I don't think we should hurry. Judging by the fact that you brought those two girls here, you consider yourself a hero, don't you?" Drakar said quietly, but his voice echoed throughout the room.

At this time, most of the capsules opened up, as did the cocoons, releasing the parasites outside.

Halvor was angry, rage boiling up inside him like a volcano, but there was nothing he could do. If he let Reine die, he would never forgive himself for it.

'Shit... Halvor turned out to be too kind... First, it helped us since he saved us, but now it's our turn for trouble, right?' Evan pondered, looking around.

In all, there were about twenty black monsters and a hundred parasite guards.

Halvor could handle ten or even twenty opponents at the cost of serious wounds, but it was too much even for him, especially since Drakar wasn't going to stand aside.

"Bastard! Let the girl go and fight me in a fair fight!" Halvor swung his axe, staring menacingly at Drakar.

Drakar looked around, made sure all the cocoons had opened, and lifted Reine off the ground.

However, he didn't go to Halvor, but to the altar, where there was nothing left of the young man, just a mummy of skin and bones, without a drop of blood.

Drakar kicked the young man's body like a bag of trash and placed Reine on the altar, allowing the main larva to begin the meal.

"Sorry, just don't want to be thrown off schedule by your intrusion. I still have four youths to drain, and these two are one of them." Drakar uttered, looking at Lana and Ruby.

His calm but eerie gaze, like a butcher in a slaughterhouse gave them goosebumps, shackling their bodies with chains of fear.

Halvor waved his hand, standing in front of them and covering Drakar's intimidating gaze with his broad back.

"Didn't even think of that. You're not hurting anyone else, not these two, not this one!" Halvor exclaimed, waving his hand as if giving a signal.

At the same moment, a powerful bolt of lightning flew out from behind his back, quickly approaching the pipe of the main larva.

Drakar quickly stood in front of the altar, creating a thin circular barrier of blood in front of his palm.

The lightning ricocheted off, flying to the side but still hitting part of the main larva.

"RRRRRRRAAAAAGGG!!!!!!!!"

An ominous sound, unlike any other, came from the main larva as part of its thick tail exploded. Chunks of flesh flew off to the sides, causing fury in every parasite, for to them it was like attacking their mother, which was not wrong.

The black monsters stepped forward, crumpling the ground beneath their feet and shaking with rage. There were seconds left before they attacked.

"Stop, don't you dare act without my command, or you will turn to ash." Drakar exclaimed menacingly, and no one else made a move.

'How strange... I thought I was going to get in trouble for this Cursed Cell girl, but it seems other than that she's a regular commoner...' Drakar pondered, shifting his gaze from Hana to Evan.

'They look at me with fear, some with wariness, and some as an enemy, but him... What's that nasty look, like I'm a lab rat to him!'

Evan's eyes sparkled, watching Drakar with interest.

All he needed was to see the demonic arts wielded by Drakar.
