"Hey" Ella shook my arm as I laid in bed fast asleep. "Wake up."
I buried my face in the pillow and groaned, "Why the fuck are you waking me up? Are you insane?" It was six-thirty AM, I looked over and saw Ella still in her pajamas, sitting beside me.
"I had sex with Jack" she blurted.
That woke me up. I looked into Ella's beautiful green eyes and saw the guilt, she definitely didn't enjoy it. I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes
"What! What do you mean?"
"I don't know I'm so stupid Marissa, he invited me over for a party. Jack was wasted but I wasn't drinking because of my ADHD and we made out on the couch and went up to his hotel room, I woke up this morning and he wasn't there"
Suddenly I remembered I also didn't fall asleep myself yesterday.
I didn't sleep with someone's fiance did I?
Ella stood up nervously fiddled with her nails and played with her hair.
"He told me yesterday he wasn't seeing someone. he swore it, he couldn't keep his eyes and his hands off of me Marissa! He was all over me. He was so gentle at first though, we were in love Marissa, I'm so stupid.
"I thought you liked Jack Ella"
"But that's the problem Marissa, I let him know I like him, we had sex and now I can't find him"
Ella was near tears and I felt so bad. She probably did love Jack but he's a Lores, a family of playboys with a reputation of replacing ladies like underwear . I rubbed her shoulder and gave her a hug.
"Look Ell, we'll talk about this over breakfast okay"
Ella nodded as tears began to drip down her face,
"Okay but right now Marissa, what the fuck have you done!"I tilted my head confused. Ella frowned angrily,
"Remember I knocked on your door and your voice from the other end of the door sounded different? Did you shapeshift Marissa! Or was Killian in here!"
I rubbed the back of my neck guiltily, "Maybe"
Ella's eyes widened "Marissa, we are literally six steps from his wedding venue!" she whispered harshly and pointed towards a pillow I had slept on, "he was right here!"
I gulped nervously
We looked at each other silently in terror when both our phones beeped in perfect synchronization. Ella stood up and walked to her phone.
"We have to get ready for the beach, there's a party and we are expected to be there, I'm guessing it's a do over from yesterday's disaster "I rolled my eyes,.
"Like I care" Ella shot me a scolding look," We can't skip this, what do we even have to tell Mr Lores if we don't show up!"
We sighed and decided to quickly get ready and head down to the beach. It was six thirty- five and as we came down to the lobby we saw everyone checking out, families, friends and the Lores clan heading out the doors. As we passed some lobby attendants the lady greeted Ella and asked her to get two towels for herself for the party.
"She has one," I quickly responded
Ella looked back and forward at the two women before blurting, "she's my PA, I told Mr. Lores she could join"
The lady smiled, "Perfect ma'am, you're both expected in the party soon" and handed Ella two towels, I couldn't understand why Ella would even do that for me and cause this unnecessary confusion but I was happy she did it for me.
The beach was about ten minutes away from the hotel and it was full of tents and umbrellas and party tables, waiters serving drinks, DJ blasting music, children running around with buckets and shovels digging the sand. Ella and I spotted a few colleagues including a blonde boy in swimming trucks, talking to two women who looked like their family.
"Barry" I whispered, he was in one piece. It was nice to see him like that.
We sat by the bar and ordered a few drinks, Ella wasn't interested in anything she had going with Jack so it would be fun to help her have some fun today at the party. Some time into our conversation, the Lores family arrived as well as the fiance .
"No, Fucking, Way!" I whisper shouted in shock as Killian and his family passed by our direction.
This is the first time, besides others, I haven't seen Killian in a suit. He looks amazing in his swimming trucks, golden sun-kissed skin, a fresh undercut and beard with a few tattoos here and there, a watch on his wrist that costed more than my annual income.
I then looked at Jack who was beside him He had an amazing smile but his eyes were green and I immediately saw the difference between Killian and himself. I groaned inwardly, Killian Lores was perfect!
Killian could have any woman but the fact that he wants someone who doesn't belong to him ticks me off. Jack is an asshole who fucks around but Killian Lores looked like the guy in your wildest imagination with those charming sahara eyes, a deep voice and the perfect height difference between the two of us-
Ella waved her hand in front of my face and I snapped from my imagination. "Earth to Marissa!"
We watched Killian talk to Jack's mother then he looked back at me then to the fiance .
Killian had a huge grin and suddenly exclaimed
"HOT STUFF!"
"Oh no" I say as he walks towards ME and Jack stood in his spot, surprised. Ella looked at Jack and I panicked but Killian already grabbed my hand and pulled me to his family
"Jack" Killian called, " I'd like you to meet my Girlfriend, Marissa"
My mouth dropped open, I was pretty much awake and alive to know this man is engaged to someone else. I stared at Killian with a bewildered look but he pinched my arm and smiled,
"Be a good sport Marissa." He whispered.
Jack looked surprised at Killian and looked back and fourth at us like he saw his ghost.
Jack finally cleared his throat and said "So you are THAT Marissa " he stuck his hand out to mine, " Nice to meet you, again"
Jack pulled Killian aside for a quick chat as they pointed over at me, Killian had a look of glee as I fidgeted with my nails. After what seemed like an eternity, Killian hugged him and walked towards Ella and I by the beach . Killian looked so happy as if he saw a pot of gold.
Ella however was staring at me wide-eyed, I didn't want to tell her the entire story. Killian walks up to Ella and I with a grin,
"Ladies " he said but is interrupted by a pair of hands that wraps around his torso from behind.
Ella looked shocked as the fiance placed her chin on Killian's shoulders. I was already ready to go but his face came into focus and I looked at Nicole.
She smiles sheepishly

Killian introduces her as if he's introducing a brand new shoe from Louis Vuitton. She smiled and said hi to both Ella and I like we were complete strangers,
Nicole works as the secretary at The Lores™ NY, she's been on a 'needed break' since my Birthday, why didn't she tell anyone she was getting married.
Let me rephrase, why didn't she tell anyone she was getting married to Killian!.
"Marissa?!" Nicole called surprised to see me, like she didn't recognize me before" What are you doing here, who invited YOU?" she chuckled but we heard no laugh from either Ella or I. She seemed really surprised to see me while Killian wraps his strong arms around Nicole's waist and holds her close like we aren't here, like I'm not here.
Ella looks angry and I try not to puke
Killian and Nicole discuss things like the wedding. He kisses her cheek as she laughs and flirts.And I can't stand that stupid laugh.
Killian looks at Nicole longingly as if I never met him the previous two nights and I decided to leave them to their fairytale.
As Nicole flirted with Killian I walked away but Jack grabbed me and pulled me to the side. I reluctantly followed
"Hey you!" He smirked but his smile didn't reach it's peak as his eyes dulled and his gaze follows Nicole and Killian walking down to a further point on the beach, holding hands, making plans to go into the waters for a swim.
"I know you and Killian have a thing and trust me when I say this he's crazy about you, you're all he ever talks about and I'm quite sick of hearing the name Marissa all the time, but he has to put on a show, and impress Nicole's family and the press" he explains as I silently look away
"Look his hands are tied, if anything he didn't want you here at this event anyways, so you have to lay low until this party is over. Nicole is getting very jealous with all the stories he's been telling about you, just stick with it okay"
Jack then rubbed the back of his neck as I stared in the horizon Killian looks really happy and it sickens me. Nicole wasn't very nice but they are very gorgeous together as a couple.
"Did I really hear it was just your birthday?" Jack calls me back into reality
I look away towards the ocean Killian looked amazing walking around by the beach, holding Nicole. Looking absolutely stunning
Jack watches the same view and looks down sadly "For what it's worth, I know Killian would much rather be celebrating this occasion with YOU." Jack walks back to the party and I sight Ella back by the bar sipping drinks, we both watched as Nicole's family hugged her and Killian enthusiastically and
I was hoping it was all a sick dream.
The girl who treated me like trash, stole my boyfriend on prom night, is now marrying the love of my life. The love of MY LIFE!! I felt a chill down my spine and all I wanted to do was drown until I can't feel anything anymore.
Ella had gotten so distracted with a tall drink that she didn't realize that Nicole and Killian began approaching our direction hand in hand until they are standing in beside Ella
"Ella" Nicole smiles, she seemed happy Ella is present but frowned as her eyes spot me beside Ella."You are here with MARISSA?!" she affirms like I'm the third wheel. Ella shot her an indifferent look, " I'm her PA!"
"PA" Nicole muses, " Why'd you get demoted?"
Killian nudges Nicole and stares angrily at her and she rolled her eyes with a grunt
"Actually I got promoted to be the CEOs PA" Ella snapped back at Nicole
Nicole widened her eyes, she looked pretty annoyed at Killian, Nicole huffed at Ella and turned to Killian,
"You made Marissa CEO?, Really?"

He smiles lovingly "If you have a problem Baby, take it up with Mr Lores" he remarks
Ella winks at me silently cheering that I got promoted despite Nicole's taunts
"Well, it would seem I have to get my congratulations in order" Nicole pouts. "Not everyone goes from stripper to CEO in a year" she smirks at Killian who gives Nicole a disapproving glance
I immediately thought Killian would defend me and tell Nicole she's out of line but instead, his grip around Nicole loosens and immediately my stomach churns and my eyes swell as I watched
Killian do a shameless PDA on Nicole while Ella watched horrified but Nicole placed a hand on Killian's cheek and turned it towards her giving me a filthy glare
"We have an announcement" she squeels happily dragging Killian down to the center of the beach
Ella rolls her eyes and grabs another drink from a passing tray. No doubt she's wasted.
Nicole clears her throat as Killian whispered something into her ears causing a faint blush and she nodded, she glared back at Ella and I and a grin spreads across her face
"We wanted to tell you before our actual wedding and family announcement. We are expecting!" Nicole grins ecstatically and wraps his hand around her waist again.
I stopped breathing,
Killian looked pretty shocked and panicked at Nicole
Ella dropped her glass. And everyone at the beach starts cheering.
