Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty-Six

"So, a few days, huh?"

I hummed, exhaling the smoke from my lungs, looking at Akira with a raised eyebrow as he nodded.

"Yeah, I'll be back before you know it, man."

He grinned, causing me to chuckle as we were at the train station.

"Hey, stop talking to me like I'm your girlfriend, dumbass."

I rolled my eyes.

"Aren't you going over there to find your girlfriend in the first place?

He scoffed in return, a grin still on his face as he extended a fist and I bumped it with my own, as he turned and entered the train.

Honestly, it was kind of sweet of him to go and look for the girl he took a liking to, but would I ever admit that out loud? No, that was way too gay.

"Are you done giving your brotherly goodbyes?"

I turned my head to the side, looking over at Shoko with a raised eyebrow, my smirk widening at her deadpanned expression.

"What is the matter M'lady? Tired of our antics already?"

She huffed, rolling her eyes and snaking her arm around my own, dragging me away.

"If I leave you two alone, Akira is liable to put up a domain expansion in public, and Geto is with Gojo on a mission, so I'm the one that the responsibility falls to me."

She grumbled slightly as I followed her, my longer legs keeping up with her stride easily.

"We must have inconvenienced you greatly, all of those plans you had to postpone, it breaks my heart to see you so... downtrodden."

She turned around and gave me a raised eyebrow, though she couldn't hide the slight twitch of her lips.

"Would you stop that?"

I hummed thoughtfully, taking another drag from my cigarette and exhaling the smoke again.

"Alright, I'll stop. Anyway, it's just the two of us now. Do you have any plans?"

She sighed, digging into her pocket and taking out her own pack of cigarettes, putting one between her lips.

"Besides laughing around in my room, and maybe going for a walk, no, my day is free."

I watched as she looked up at me, leaning closer. Chuckling, I leaned down slightly so she could light her cigarette with my own and leaned back as she exhaled the smoke.

I mulled it over for a moment, it was still early in the day, and ever since I came to Tokyo, there was little time with all the training and the missions we went to, I haven't really explored anything except getting familiar with the city... so why not?

"Want to change stations? We could go visit Shinagawa."

She looked at me curiously, tilting her head to the side slightly before shrugging.

"Why not, it's close enough..."

She grinned at me, her hazel eyes twinkling with mischief.

"You're paying for the tickets, though."

I just shook my head in amusement, my lips forming a small smile.

"Who do you think I am? Of course, I'm paying, I'm the one that asked you to go with me."

She hummed and turned around again, putting her hands behind her back.

"Well, let's go then."

I smiled, falling in step next to her. The smoke mingled, dissipating into the air as her shadow moved closer to mine.

"So, this is the shrine of the seven lucky gods, huh?"

I muttered, looking at the shrine in front of us, other people were here, of course, looking around, sightseeing, taking pictures.

So far, coming here was worth it.

I felt a tug on my arm and looked down at Shoko who motioned her head toward a kimono shop.

"Come on."

Shrugging, I followed her into the shop, looking at the Kimonos with light interest, as Shoko looked around, checking the material, putting the kimonos up to her body, and turning to me for opinion.

She looked good in a white one with sakura flowers engraved on it. But otherwise, I didn't really have much of an opinion, just nodding my head occasionally.

"Try this one."

She handed me a blue kimono, and I grabbed it by the hanger, looking it over for a moment. Shrugging, I turned to the changing rooms, but not before she placed a black Haori over the Kimono that was hanging over my forearm.

Rolling my eyes with a smirk, I walked inside, pulling the blinds shut.

Taking off my vest, I hung it on the hanger and did the same with my shirt, wrapping the kimono around me, tying the sash around my waist, and straightening it out.

I looked into the mirror for a moment, giving myself a once over and sliding the blinds open for some "professional" judgment.

She was standing in front of the curtain with thee more Kimonos in her hand, and a smile.

I just sighed, resigning myself to my new part time modeling job.
