Chapter 30 - Chapter Twenty-Nine

I groaned pitifully, my muscles hurt as hell and my cursed energy was too depleted to do anything much for a bit. I tightened my arms around Shoko's waist, my forehead resting on her shoulder as she ran her hands through my hair.

"Tired?"

She asked, and I could feel the smirk on her face. I just nodded, not bothering to speak.

"Can you heal me?"

I muttered.

"If I do, how will you learn when to stop?"

I grumbled, displeased, not wanting to face the consequences of my actions.

I took a deep breath, exhaling through my nose, lifting my head off of her shoulder, as I felt Yaga getting closer. Turning my head in the direction he would be coming from, I waited patiently until he slid the door open dramatically, looking over the classroom, his eyes stopping on Shoko and me for a second before moving to the reason for my exhaustion, who was currently playing the snake game on his phone, trying to beat the high score that Geto had, the other two watching silently.

"You have a mission!"

He bellowed loudly, and I had to resist the urge to freeze his underwear, any loud noise was practically a hammer to my head right now, and we were standing right here, use your inside voice, damn...

"Mother Fucker!"

Akira shouted, flinging his phone across the classroom, and hitting the wall, followed by the laughter of Gojo and Geto.

I just dropped my head back on Shoko's shoulder, trying to tune them out. The phone was a Nokia, so it would be fine, I was more worried about the wall.

"Are you gonna come along?"

I nodded to Shoko's question, I would be fine in a few hours, There was no need to worry.

___

"What do we have to do again?"

Gojo asked, leaning against the subway door, despite the clear instructions not to do it. His excuse? He couldn't read.

"We, are going on a mission to exorcise a curse in a secluded shrine."

Geto answered, not even looking up from his phone.

I hummed absently, my eyes closed as I tried to rest up, cursed energy circling around my body, reinforcing it and pouring back into my reservoir.

"I'm bored, Gojo, do something stupid."

I opened my eyes, looking over at him as he pouted.

"You're so mean to me."

I gave him an unimpressed look, how useless could one be? Amuse me at least, you hardly do anything else.

I dropped my head back again, hitting the wall of the subway and groaning.

"Come on, we didn't train that hard, stop whining."

I would freeze his underwear, but I'd much rather conserve my cursed energy right now. He made a crater with my body.

"We're meeting up with someone from Kyoto, aren't we? Who do you think it is?"

Shoko asked, leaning back in her seat.

"Apparently, someone who knows a lot about shrines. I still don't know why we need help, we're the best it gets."

Gojo sounded exasperated, probably due to the insinuation that he, of all people, needed help.

I just couldn't really bother to care at the moment, it was most likely the one Akira met, or their old classmate. The subway slowly came to a stop and I stood up stretching as I followed the others out of the transport to meet up with our plus one.

Soon enough, she came into view, in front of a treeline that we had to go into to actually get to the shrine, she wore a Miko outfit, which was an... odd fashion statement, but to each their own, I guess.

"Hello, Utahime!"

Akira waved pleasantly, which was... unnatural. What was that?

I glanced at him, and he had a smile on his face, not the shit-eating one, not the ones he had when we did some stupid shit, he had a smile that could be considered...

Oh god, this was the girl, wasn't it?

"Hello to you too, Kurogawa."

The girl, Utahime, offered a small smile back.

I glanced between the two and hummed. The blackmail material here was bottomless...

"You two know each other?"

Geto asked, raising an eyebrow in interest, and I could see Gojo's gears turning as he connected the dots, before a grin broke out on his face.

Oh, this would be a good next few days.
