Chapter III
12 years later.
A lady is seen adjusting her hair in front of a mirror.
She is very beautiful with meek features, the sprinkles of innocence. Her beautiful green eyes complimented her perfect blond hair. She had pink Rosy cheeks and supple lips which could made a man not want to not kiss her. She was a work of art, a beauty to behold. Her collar bone made it hard for her to be irresistible but perhaps her well shaped breast made it harder. Although she was very beautiful, she was the weakest vampire in the land hence it made her protected like an egg.
"Elsa, where are you? Hurry, we don't want to be late." Her mother called out to her.
She had gotten a special invitation from Lord Raiden who was now crowned king Raiden.
Her mother didn't want her to be late so she wouldn't form a bad impression.
"Mama, I'd be down in a few minutes. Please do give some time."
She took one final look at herself in the mirror and concluded she was ready. She them made her way out of the ro so she could join her mother outside.
"Mother, I am ready."
"Alright let's go."
They hopped into the carriage and the Coachman set rout for the palace.
They arrived at the king's court. They were met by some maids who took them inside. It seemed everyone was expecting Elsa.
They came before king Raiden and asked bowed their heads down before him.
"You may rise." His very authoritative voice said to them.
And they did.
"How are you Mrs Lucas."
"I'm very well my king."
"Elsa?"
"Yes, my king?"
"How are you doing?"
"I'm fine your majesty, how are you doing?"
King Raiden was stunned by Elsa's question of welfare to him but of course he didn't let it show.
"I am fine."
We've been having issues with rogue wolves for a while do I'm always preoccupied."
"Please do not tire out yourself, my king." Elsa said with a smile on her face.
"How can I not when our latest discovery is the existence of witches in the land."
"Witches?!" Elsa said almost with a high tune.
"Yes, witches. Although we know not what their purpose or mission is, we are still working on it."
"I fear there may an invasion soon." Elsa said in one breath.
"Why do you say so?" King Raiden asked while staring at her.
"We are still dealing with the rogue weres and now, witches?"
"What if they come together to form an ally?"
"That won't happen Elsa dear, king Raiden is up to the task." Elsa's mother said in a hearty tone.
"It could happen." King Raiden said to Mrs Lucas before turning to Elsa to say
"But like your mother said, I'm up to the task."
"I hope so your majesty." Elsa said.
"Come with me Elsa, if you don't mind Mrs. Lucas." king Raiden said
"No your majesty, you don't need to ask." Mrs. Lucas said in between giggles and sweet smiles.
That being said Elsa was taken by the king away.
They walked into the garden in silence until king Raiden turned to her and said "How is Kane doing?"
"He is fine your majesty. Ever since he came into our lives he's been such tremendous help."
"What kind of things does he help out with?" King Raiden said unemotionally.
"He helps father at the workshop, he cuts wood and keeps us all company."
"I want you to be very careful Elsa. He is not who you think he is."
"What do you mean your majesty?"
"He isn't a human as perceived neither is he a vampire. He is more or less a werewolf in disguise. I'm still working on what he truly is but until then be wary of him."
"Your majesty, I really hope it isn't true."
"Why?"
"He is like family now."
"Come let's go to the dungeon." With that, they both headed to the dungeon.
The dungeon was dark, cold and eerie. It also reeked of blood and death.
He guards bowed their heads when he came in and took them to the place where the werewolf was kept hostage.
"He is a were." Elsa said to Lord Raiden.
"Yes, he is. He was found early this week trying to kill someone".
"What do you intend doing with him?"
"Getting information then sending him to his moon goddess." King Raiden said with full sarcasm.
Elsa's face got pale as soon as she found out what his last sentence meant.
He then took her over to the witches.
But they didn't interact with them. With that they left the dungeon.
"What would you love to have as breakfast?" Lord Raiden asked her.
"I have already had my breakfast, your majesty."
"You had breakfast before you came to the palace? Why is that?"
"I am sorry your majesty, I didn't know I was to be honored with the privilege of having breakfast at the palace."
"I think I should get going now, you majesty."
"Why?" King Raiden asked.
"I have to be on time at Calhoun's game."
His icy cold grey eyes met with her lemon green eyes and he just chuckled.
"Ok then, let me see you off."
Her visit to the palace was short.
She and her mother thanked the king for hosting them at the palace before leaving. He in turn gave them gifts for Calhoun and their father.
They hopped on the ride home and during which Elsa fell asleep. A few minutes later her mom gently woke her up.
"Elsa dear, we are home." her mother said.
She woke up stretching her body and came off the carriage.
The environment was very quiet but Mrs Lucas thought it to be that everyone was sleeping.
But when she entered into the house she was met with a slaughter scene. Her husband lay dead on the floor with his head bleeding.
Calhoun's body parts were littered over the place like he was torn apart by a wolf.
Every other maid was lying dead including the butler too.
The house was painted with blood.
Her family just got annihilated. She let out a loud scream which made Elsa hurry into the house but she halted her steps as soon as she met the sight before her.
Her mother suddenly collapsed
"Mother, mother please wake up."
"What happened here?" Elsa asked in total confusion to no one actually
"Mom please wake up we have to leave now."
"It's not safe for us. Please wake up."
Elsa said almost crying. When she didn't get a response she took her mother's wrist and tried to look for a pulse, when she didn't find a pulse, she bent down to listen to her mother's heartbeats but she didn't hear anything.
That was when she confirmed her mother was long gone.
She looked around for Kane but found no one so she decided to head back to the Palace and report this scene to the king. She was a mental mess, she was so devastated but when she managed to make her way to the carriage. She was met with a dead coachman.
