The little girl shrieked and the Avatar swept in, transforming its arm into a scythe, and slashing at the man's arms.
Clang-! Sparks flew.
'What even is that?! The Avatar exclaimed, "Nano-machines, son"'
'Argh-! Stop with your stupid references. Nobody gets them either way!'
It delivered a kick which was blocked yet again. 'It's so damn hard-!' it cried, "That's what she said".
'...Shut up, and release the seal'
"Got it, boss"
'Are you high? Can you get high?'
Anyway, after releasing a multitude of impaling projections, completely overwhelming the old man, he tried to escape. But, to his surprise, his feet were stuck in the earth.
Trying his best to escape, the old man enforced and amplified the power of his lower body by covering the majority of his upper body with the parasite; up to his neck too, of course.
And, in went the Avatar for the kill. Throwing a downward roundhouse kick straight to the old man's face at 12 times the speed of sound.
Like how a watermelon would when you wrap too many rubber bands on it, the old man's head exploded and his brains scattered all over the place. His lifeless body remained in its initial position, unmoving.
'Well, shit… didn't think that'd kill him' the Avatar fidgeted, "No shit, that killed him. He's human—I think".
I sighed and said: "I'll just revive him. Just—this once. Give me your vessel".
I manifested in the Avatar's body and proceeded with the revival.
"You don't need to see this, kid" I said as shadows surrounded and engulfed the girl, muffling her screams and blocking all sound from entering. "Finally got rid of the noise… Now, to test this bad boy out—" I created a life form. 'Ugh… a zombite? Can';t you just revive him normally?' the Avatar, filled with disgust, asked.
"No, no, no, no. You don't realise how handy this could come to be. Especially in a war. Alos, this isn't a zombite that was found on Yggorth. This is a genetically engineered, physically enhanced and restorative-binding type of parasite set to obey me and only me".
'Well, I kiiinda obliterated his head,' the Avatar pointed out uneasily.
"No worries. As long as you don't make any mistakes in the future, I won't have to delete your consciousness like the other failures" I warned. 'Well, I guess I should do this often-' it said, aside.
"I'll just rewind time on his head. That's pretty much the extent of my time-related abilities, after all" I ignored the Avatar.
Now, I might sound like a complete asshole, but I'm not completely in the wrong here. You see, these Avatars that I create… they're not perfect—as any other human—but, what I mean by that is that almost every one of them has major flaws.
Now, for a quick, little flashback…
I was recalling the results of the manufacture of the Avatars, and most of the observations were… weird, to say the least.
"001's impulses were overridden—possibly due to the complete exposure to the universe—and its processing unit—its brain—was fried… Huh…this is gonna be hard"
…
"002's completely inoperable-! What is this?! Raagh!" I struck the Avatar, obliterating it.
…
"003 just spat gibberish onto my face and continued for hours before I had to terminate it… Was my understanding lacking?"
…
"004 and 005 immediately killed themselves after examining their bodies and not uttering a single word… What's it this time? Surely, the pressure is not too immense. Let's make them unable to harm themselves and install a kill-switch, just in case. Well, not like they can harm me either way"
Finally, after an infinite amount of time, 008 was the first operable Avatar with a supernatural urge to die. I still don't get why, but it doesn't really matter.
Let's go back now…
I released a centipede looking thing into the hole that I seared through the old man's head, leading to the cranium, exposing the brain. Poor guy, really. At least he wasn't alive to witness it—yet, that is. The head, now attached to the body, fell limp.
Now, to fix the internal decapitation. The parasite can't do it, so I'd need to look at it myself.
…
The old man woke up with a prolonged gasp, as if he were winded(Well, he did get obliterated-).
"I died-! Why am I back?!" he felt his chest, "What… what the hell are you?!"
"Ahh… that—you don't need to know; to be fair… I don't know myself" I spoke in a hushed voice. "No-no-! Stay away! Don't come any closer!" he squirmed as my hand drew closer to his face.
And, that's that~
I extracted information about the planet from both him and the kid. I took the old man's parasite, his left arm, and let the girl go. She was charmed—for some reason—and wanted to thank me for driving off the scary grandpa(Pfft-), but I didn't want anything from a kid—as much as I may appear to be an asshole—so I just teleported away.
"Take care of the other 3 hooligans out there" I ordered, "Also, place a tick on the kid, ask her of her mum and if she had any books on her magic".
'You could've done it yourself; you were right there. Now, I need to go back and search for her' the Avatar sighed. "Use the seal that I released. Your powers will be sealed again after a while" I advised.
"I'm out-"
…
Alrighty… back to the present, with the boys: Raphael and Lucifer. I quite missed them.
Now, the main purpose of going to the world of Salem when I broke free from the bounds of the Trapezohedron was to retrieve a few items that the Avatar responsible for said world had stored in a well hidden place.
I was pretty much all-knowing at this point. Now…remember that temple we came across in R'lyeh? I've a hypothesis about it. One line of that rune language mentioned waking something up before the Star aligned. So, as any sane person would, I plan to wake that something up—that might very well be the bane of me. Also, it could very well be the Abyssal guard twins at the actual entrance of the temple, as opposed to the hole that I created in the wall, or—the statue of Cthulhu. If it's the latter… can't say I'm positive about my chances of survival. And thus, I must get all the assistance that I can: Lucifer, the self-proclaimed Monarch of Death; a God of War.
Raphael is not comfortable with fighting anymore, or so he says.
Oh yeah, the me when I was trapped in the Trapezohedron… let's just say that he's dead. Again, I don't have any more knowledge of that.
"Haah… finally, a breath of fresh air" I moved through the dense forest of trees with mossy trunks and a varied colour palette for their leaves; most were green, some emitting a magical glow of purple and blue.
Dried leaves crumbled and rustled with a crisp sound as I moved towards the giant tree with rainbow leaves, standing at a staggering height of 90 metres, its trunk a width of 15 metres, covering the area around it in a radius of almost 100 or so metres with its leaves.
Raphael: 'A rather majestic looking tree. What do you plan of it?'
"Oh, I wanna eat it-" I said quite calmly, considering my main objective.
Lucifer: 'You're not serious, are you?'
"No, I am. Although, that's just a sub objective. My main point of interest is not the tree, but what's hidden beneath it. For you see, I 've been here before—well, technically—and I've collected a few things that may prove to be useful, and have hidden them under this tree, in the middle of an extremely dense forest" I explained, "Although, it's a pretty obvious place to hide it, it really doesn't matter. There're too many monsters around this area, so no one really dares to come here unless they've balls of titanium, or are really strong"
Lucifer: 'So, you still wanna eat the tree?'
"Yep~"
Lucifer: 'Why…? Surely, you can eat those monsters you mentioned earlier if you're that hungry.'
