Mindy took a deep breath and dialed the familiar number. After a few rings, a voice answered on the other end.
"Hey, I needed to talk," Mindy said, her voice carrying the weight of the day's events.
"Of course, what happened?" the voice replied, a mix of concern and curiosity.
As Mindy started recounting the incident at the boutique, the words flowed out like a release of pent-up frustration.
"You won't believe what happened at the boutique today. Chloe and her friends... they were ruthless."
Mindy sighed deeply as she continued, "It was like a public humiliation. Chloe mocked my family's financial situation, belittled me, and then, to top it off, she got the manager to question me.
I tried to stay composed, but it got out of hand. The manager even asked to check my bag. It was mortifying."
