Months after examination;
After he was done with his exams, to helped his mother with her little selling business in order to make more income
A week before, he had been notified on the arrival of his results
He was anxious and scared to say the least but he had to gather the little courage he had left in him
But before he could do anything, his parents had already made a move
When he walked into the hut that faithful day, he was met with the worst and heartbreaking scene he had ever came across
His eyes widened by the scene
His mother was bitterly weeping in his father's arms while she clutched a piece of paper tightly
So many thoughts began to ran in his mind
Did he not get the scholarship?
Did he fail his family?
Was this how their family was going to be until they withered away?
Were they going to live in poverty until they withered away?
He probably failed considering his mother's state
What was he even thinking?
That he would get the scholarship to a rich and well-known school?
That he alone would be choosen from a his school ?
It suddenly sounded funny to him
But he couldn't bring himself to cackle
It sounded like a dream to him
A dream which couldn't come true
And grew so many and different kind of flowers in his dream which couldn't bloom
What a shame he was onto his family
He didn't even notice when tears began to cascade down his redened cheeks
He was filled with anger, disappointment, fright, disgust, embarrassment, frustration, sadness, shame, guilt and so many emotions that he could identify
What now?
He asked himselflf
Life goes on?
His back was stuck to the door while he stared at his weeping mother's trembling figure unable to step forward for his presence to be acknowledged
He couldn't bring himself to take a step forward to even console his parents
He felt defeated and demoralized
With hot fat stream of tears falling from his redened eyes, he slumped down the door with lost hope while he just stared into space
"Hyung!~"
Little Felix beamed with a smile as bright as the day while he pointed his tiny index finger at his older brother
He looked up from his bowed position towards his brother
He wondered why he had such a bright smile in such a moment of grief
With immediate effect his mother's head snapped to the direction where little Felix was pointing
He heard his mother gasp
"My son"
The woman stood and quickly dashed to her son
When he saw his mother moving towards him, he immideately stood to accept any form of beating and slaps from her
Instead, the woman engulfed him in a bone crashing hug
One which made it almost impossible for him to breath
"I'm sorry"
Those were the only words he could muster up as he circled his arms around the woman's trembling figure to console her
His heart pained while he listened to his mother choking on her sobs knowing it was all his fault
"My son"
More sobs
"I'm-"
The young lad was about to apologize again but his mother beat him to it
"I'm so proud of you"
"huh?"
Discombombulated, the young lad's eyes shot open and frowned his brows
He couldn't make sense as to why his mother was proud of his failure
"I'm so so proud of you my son"
She sobbed and clutched onto his shirt tighter
"W-Why?"
"Because your going to seoul"
If human eye could just pop out of their sockets by just opening them as wide as the ocean, then the young lad's eyes would have been bouncing on the floor the moment his father let out those words
"I'm so so proud of you "
His mother said as she buried her head deeper into his neck
"Congratulations oppa, you had the scholarship
I promise I'd follow your foot steps "
Nayeon congratulated him while hugging his side
"I'm going to S-Seoul University?"
He asked his father who stared back at him with so much emotions in his eyes and a proud smile
He nodded
He was very proud of his son to say the least
His son had done many, countless things for him to be proud of but this, this made him realize how unstoppable his son was
He knew he could never be able to do what his son just did
Not even in a million years to come
The young lad was only seventeen
And at his age he managed to top the whole of Busan in accademics with just little resources
He honestly didn't know what he did to deserve such a strong soul like his son's
He couldn't help but stare at his son with so much adoration
He did what over a thousand couldn't
He was proud of his son
The young lad pulled away from the hug
He regarded his mother's redened eyes with tears spilling out but regardles, a proud smile adored her lips
"M-Mom di-did ..... did you hear that?"
He stuttered with wide eyes while he held his mother's skinny arms in his grasp, occasionally shaking her
He felt adrenaline rush through his entire body
"D-D-D-d you?
I had t-the sc--scolarship
I DID IT
MOM I DID IT"
At that point the young lad was hopping on his ten toes like a little rabbit with a wide grin adoring his lips while he brought his mother closer for a bone crashing hug
"Yes my son
Yes you did it
You did it"
His mother also began to hop along with him
Soon his father also joined the hug and covered his family with his arms
Present day
The young lad stood before his family in the train station
Both his hands clutching the bags his mother had packed for him
He regarded his family, his love, his life, the reasons for his eixtence
Indeed he was going to miss his family
Even though on different occasions he had thought living in Seoul and having a life there, he never thought he had to leave his family
They had a very special place in his heart
"Go on the train's here"
His mother said trying to force a smile
"M-Mom"
That was the only thing he could say before he engulfed his mother in a tight hug and burst into tears
"I'm gonna miss you
I'm gonna miss you all"
He choke on his sobbs making his family tear up and join the hug
They had gone through that same situation for like a million times
"We'll miss you too my son
Now go before it takes off
If it does you're not spending the night in my house"
Everyone let out a sad chuckle
He let go of his mother and gave them a quick perck each on their cheeks and said his last
"Goodbye"
He stepped in the train and watch his family as the train took off
He watched how they all waved at him with both sad and proud smiles adoring their lips
Indeed he was sad to leave his family in their condition
But the sadness didn't consume him that much because he knew he would come back as a better person
He wouldn't come back empty handed like how he left
He'd come back with riches and wealth
He'd be bigger, better, richer, wiser and stronger for his family
All these thoughts kept lingering in his head until he eventually fell asleep with tear stains on his cheeks while he clutched his bags to his chest
