Just a few days later, Huiyin saw Zixin at the nightclub again. But this time, he was drinking way more than before. Even if she didn't know why, she didn't want to be a busybody. She watched him from afar and made sure he doesn't get into any trouble. When other young women surrounded him, he would shoo them way or yell at them. After he drank his third mixed alcoholic cocktail, he knew he couldn't handle it anymore. The side effects from alcohol started to hit him harder. He tried to walk in straight line but he kept on bumping into people.
As he started to look around, all of the people looked the same except for one young lady. He didn't know why but something about her attracted him. He walked sloppily and he was feeling hot at the same time. Just as Huiyin was cleaning up, she accidentally bumped into Zixin.
"I-I am sorry. I didn't mean to---" When she looked up, it was the CEO of the Diamond Corporation. Lin Zixin. He looked at her as if he was about to eat her. He looked into her terrified eyes, and whispered.
"Ruining? Is that you?" He smiled as he saw her. Huiyin was dumbfounded and speechless. She looked at him and replied.
"CEO Lin, I'm not Ruining. You got the wrong person."
"NO!! You are Ruining! You are my wife!" He smiled and continued, "You promised to be with me, you are also pregnant with our child! You are not dead, no... you are not dead." Huiyin looked around and there were no one in sight.
"CEO Lin, you got the wrong person. Is Chris with you?"
"Chris? Who is Chris? Ruining, are you cheating on me?" Zixin embraced Huiyin tightly, "Please don't leave me, Ruining. I promise I will be good to you."
Just then, Chris ran up the stairs and apologized.
"I am so sorry. This is his second time, we tried to get him to stop but... it doesn't seem to be working. Thank you, Miss. Thank you so much for your help. We'll handle the rest." Chris and another person tried to get Zixin off of Huiyin but it was useless.
"Ruining.... Ruining..." Zixin slowly whispered her name as if he's hoping she could appear again.
"CEO Lin, we need to go now. Ruining isn't here. She's gone!" Chris was getting impatient so he blurted out.
"NO!! NO!! She's here, I'm not leaving!" Zixin cried while Huiyin stood there feeling so out of place. She calmed herself and said, "I don't think he'll leave any time soon. How about this? I'll look after him and after he wakes up, I'll drive him back to his company. I'm on night shift so I'll be staying here."
"Would that be too much work for you?" Chris replied and Huiyin shook her head.
"It might be better this way. I'll take him back after he's sober."
Chris sighed and nodded, "Miss. We will never forget your kindness. Sorry to share this but today is his wife's death anniversary. For the past three years, he either locks himself up or drown his sorrow with alcohol. He can not get over Ruining's death." Chris had some sniffles but he smiled, "At least, Ruining and their child are safe up there."
Huiyin looked at Zixin and she remembered what happened three years ago. She nodded slowly and replied, "Could you text me his office address? This is my name card." She took out her name card with one of her hands while Zixin was still embracing her.
"Miss, thank you once again. We'll leave him in your care." As Chris and the others walked away, Huiyin carefully took Zixin's arm and guided him to an empty room which used to be the boss' study room but since it's no longer used, Zixin and Huiyin could use it.
Huiyin laid Zixin down on the mattress while she cleared some dusts. There were a few pillows in the cupboard. All of stuff are ready to use so she wouldn't have to worry about buying any missing items. It was getting quite late, Huiyin was feeling exhausted after a long day. She sat on the mattress to rest but suddenly, Zixin pulled her close so fast that she didn't even have time to think.
"Ruining..." Zixin whispered. "Please stay with me. Don't leave me alone." Huiyin laid beside him and saw his tears coming down. Huiyin didn't think too much. At the worst, she gets fired.
Huiyin placed her soft and pale hand on his face in order to wipe away his tears. Her heart ached for him. But because of her past, she wasn't sure whether her feelings toward Zixin were genuine or fake.
"He is quite a hunk, though." Huiyin whispered. But she had to remind herself that Zixin isn't someone whom she could get closed to that easily. She tried to turn away from him but it was useless. She sighed as she gave up on trying. While Zixin slept beside her, she kept on replaying the incident at the back of her head. That day was difficult for her but for Zixin, it felt like hell on earth.
Even though she knew CEO Lin from three years ago, bringing up the past would be a difficult job. She also doesn't like to be at the centre of attention. She believes that if she starts to like him now, then almost everyone would know. She had to hide her feelings and her darkest desire for Lin Zixin.
"Ruining.... Ruining...." Zixin whispered that name over and over again. It could make anyone annoyed and irritated but not Huiyin. She accepted the fact that she could never replace Ruining but it wouldn't hurt if she added a little souvenir for him.
"Lin Zixin... don't be afraid. I'm here." She whispered as she slowly fell asleep. This feeling of relaxation was something she never experienced. Though she experienced jealousy before, but this time, it was much stronger. But for the sake of her well-being, she decided that she will back-off tomorrow morning. She knew that forcing love wouldn't be a great idea at all.
