As soon as Rune stepped out of the room, he heard a noise coming from the door. He paused while Miko headed towards the third room where Nate was waiting. "Hey, Rune," Nate called out, "there's something I need to tell you too."
Instead of following Miko to the third room, Rune had a strange sensation that something bad was about to occur. He decided to trust his instincts and walked towards the front door, gripping the flashlight tightly, recalling Renko William's advice.
Carefully, he approached the front door just as Nate came out of the third room. Nate lingered in the small hallway, observing Rune's movements toward the door. "Is everything alright?" Nate asked, but before Rune could respond, Rune quickly turned around and gestured to be quiet.
Rune proceeded towards the door, but before opening it, he moved towards the left window next to it. Peering outside, he noticed a woman walking on the opposite side of the street. She had striking white hair and was wearing a flowing white dress, but what caught Rune's attention was that she was walking barefoot.
Observing Rune as he peered through the window, Nate's concern grew, prompting him to inquire, "Do you see anything, Rune?"
Rune caught sight of a figure strolling down the street, but he couldn't discern the full view. Anxious, Rune questioned, "Won't she attract monsters?"
Although Rune only had a partial view of the lady, he silently observed her progress down the street.
Suddenly, a deafening roar emanated from the direction the woman was heading. Startled, the woman halted, prompting Rune to turn to Nate and suggest, "I think we should lend her a hand."
Upon hearing this, Nate calmly approached the front door, reaching for his gun holstered at his waist. With caution, he slowly turned the doorknob and gently opened the door.
"Screek, Screek, Screek!!!!"
The monster's noise grew louder and, following a brief pause, the woman froze as she heard heavy footsteps approaching from the end of the block.
"Hey, come over here!" Nate called out, his eyes fixed on the woman. However, she remained silent and slowly pivoted, leaving Nate stunned with an expression of shock on his face.
He was filled with horror as he whispered, "Damn, what have I done?" He couldn't look away from the woman, her ravaged body haunting his conscience. Half of her body was gone, leaving only one leg behind. Surprisingly, the other side remained unharmed, creating a strange contrast of normality in the midst of chaos. Even though she was clearly infected, she still had a hint of humanity, a reminder of those who had succumbed to corruption.
As soon as she heard Nate's voice, she swiftly turned and ran towards him. Witnessing this, Nate promptly shut the door and then looked at Rune, who appeared startled and scared. Rune anxiously asked, "What do we do? What do we do?" The woman's banging on the door immediately caught their attention, followed by a loud roar from earlier.
"Sccccreek!!!!!"
Upon hearing that, Nate hurriedly rushed to the living room and pushed two chairs towards the door, creating a barricade. He then turned to Rune and reassured him, saying, "Alright, I always had a feeling something like this might happen, so I prepared in advance. Follow me and let's get Miko."
Rune felt a sense of relief upon hearing Nate's words, knowing that Nate had made provisions for such a situation. Rune went into the room and grabbed the black bag filled with food supplies. He then said, "Miko, let's go."
Miko, looking perplexed, asked Rune, "What's going on?"
"Don't worry, let's just go," Rune said confidently. As they made their way out of the room, Miko suddenly heard a loud banging noise against the door. Immediately, she knew what was happening and quickly followed Rune into the second room, where Nate and Duke had already gathered.
"I need your help with moving this," Nate called out, pointing towards a wooden dresser. However, before they could start doing anything, he opened the drawer and took out a picture that Rune had discovered inside. With the picture in hand, Nate held one side of the dresser while Rune took the other. Slowly and cautiously, they began to push the dresser away, keeping their focus on the task at hand.
Suddenly, Miko heard the sound of banging on the front door. She quickly turned and glanced down the hallway, only to realize that the previously closed door was now wide open. To her horror, the monsters that had been relentlessly banging on the door had managed to enter the house. As Miko looked on, she noticed an infected lady making her way towards the hallway. Simultaneously, another monster, resembling a caterpillar but with black skin and eight human arms protruding from its body, was crawling through the slightly ajar front door.
"It's happening! The monsters are here!" exclaimed Miko as she forcefully shut the door. Simultaneously, Rune and Nate had already moved the dresser, revealing a hidden passage to the basement. As the relentless banging on the room door continued, Nate lifted the small door on the floor, exposing the entrance to the basement.
Just as he unveiled the door, a monstrous creature resembling a caterpillar burst through, extending one of its menacing hands and attempting to snatch Miko.
"Help me! Ahhh!" Miko screamed in terror.
Reacting swiftly, Rune swore under his breath, "Shit!" He firmly grasped Miko's hand and pulled her away from the clutches of the monster, which persistently tried to snatch her towards it.
Oh no! Nate noticed what was happening and without hesitation, he tightly held onto Mikos's hand and swiftly pulled her away from the clutches of the terrifying monster. Meanwhile, Duke sprang into action and raced down the stairs that led to the basement. Once Mikos was safely freed, they all hurriedly made their way down the stairs while the monsters viciously smashed through the door. In a one move, Nate swiftly closed the basement door, successfully blocking the monsters from reaching them. .
