The next morning, Aeliana quietly turned the doorknob and stepped into her room expecting to find Ruby still asleep in bed. However, to her surprise, Ruby standing by the window, a towel wrapped around her body, her wet hair dripping onto the floor.
On seeing her Ruby rolled her eyes and move to her bag, pulling out her dress for the day.
"Ruby," Aeliana began, her voice soft with regret. "We need to talk to you."
"We have nothing to talk about," Ruby responded, taking an extra towel to dry her hair, her movements tense and deliberate.
"Yes we do." Aeliana continued, taking a step closer. " I know you're upset, but please, let me explain."
Her friend remained silent, her back turned to the princess as she focused on getting dressed.
Aeliana's heart sank at the sight of Ruby's cold demeanor. She had hoped that Ruby would understand, that she would support her. But it seemed that her hopes had been in vain.
