Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Reborn

If you hate I tried and background building, feel free to skip to chapter 11: Final Result

. .

. .

. .

I don't know where I am, or… what I am… I've been trapped in this unending void of darkness for what seems like an eternity…

All I'm sure of is one thing… I'm already dead…

Maybe, this is hell? Because this sure can't be heaven.

. . .

In the sea of darkness that seemed to devour light itself, a lone white outline in the form of a human body containing no features floated endlessly with no direction or cause. All it had to keep it company were its thoughts.

Out, deep inside this endless darkness, was a sort of creature, also made entirely of darkness, with arms all over, even surpassing those of an octopus. Its form was that of a titan, as it seemed that the other outlined being uncontrollably floated towards the dark monster.

'Is it, laughing?' The white figure questioned, looking at the dark monster that could squash it with a gentle body gesture. There was no way to make out in detail what the expression of the face of the dark monster was, if that was even an expression.

As the white figure drew close, its instincts kicked in for it to run, but then, there was no way to control where it went, after all, it had simply been carried along by the darkness.

The closer it got to the titan of a monster, the clearer the white light deep within it became. There was no way to see beyond the white light, but despite the feeling to run, there was another that compelled the white figure and brought a sense of comfort, really, peace amidst chaos.

The white figure was aggressively sucked into the white light as it seemed to trigger a memory.

Hey! Watch out!

Stooooppp!!!

BAM!!!

. . .

'I lost consciousness after reaching that light.' The figure thought to itself. 'Where am I? I feel… Different.'

'I have, a body. I can feel my body. Though…'

While these thoughts were being processed, it was almost impossible to open the eyes, but hearing was still possible, though a bit muffled.

"Miss Valera, it's a boy!" A woman's voice resounded in the baby's ears. He could feel that the one who had spoken had him in her hands.

"Huff.. huff.. huff.." An exhausted huffing came from elsewhere in the room.

"She's too weak, she lost too much blood." Another woman said.

'Is my mother going to die before seeing her child? Before that…' In that moment when he was handed to another person, the baby started crying. It caught the attention of those around, since the baby took a while before crying.

"Take the baby away and wash him."

"Wahh wahh wahh wahh"

It felt so easy to cry as a baby. He was taken away immediately, but since his eyes were still shut, he could only tell what was happening around him through what he heard.

'That was a bit chaotic, but it seems I have been reborn.'

Though it was a little unexpected, but the old soul seemed to be taking the new developments with a calm mind.

. . .

About some hours later after he was born, his eyes were now open and he could make sense of his surroundings.

"Come let's go to your mother, ok?" A female nurse said as she picked the little baby up.

.

"Ms. Valera." The nurse said to the woman who sat up on the hospital bed as she spotted the approaching nurse.

"My baby…" She received the baby warmly, one could almost solidify the love.

"He's such a cute and chubby baby!" Another nurse commented.

"He took over his father completely. He has his father's eyes and hair colour."

"What will you name him?"

"My baby, I'll name you, Daivi." The baby's mother said.

"Wow, Daivi, what a good name!"

'What the… I don't understand a word they are speaking! Weird, I'm pretty sure I could make meaning of it… Also, what the fuck is a Daivi??' Daivi thought to himself. He smiled however, which brought a jolly mood into the ward and the nurses celebrated with the mother shortly before returning to their duties.

. . .

Some days later, Valera brought her new born child out of the hospital to head home. It was then that Daivi quickly realized that he had not only been reborn, but he wasn't in modern times. The first clue was the fact that there were still horses pulling carriages around. The buildings around didn't look modern either. The infrastructure was pretty good, but the design seemed ancient for the most part.

'Great, I have to relive history now.' With this thought, the baby in Valera's hand began crying again. Seeing as he was crying so much, she couldn't help but think if the breast milk he drank that morning was not enough.

. . .

Time went by quickly, and Daivi with it. He was already a year and some months old already. The infant brain was also really amazing. He could already understand the language of this new world fluently, what was left was speaking it, no matter how much he tried though, he couldn't produce coherent sentences yet.

During this time, there was something even more shocking that he had found out. He was not just sent to some undeveloped era, but was also sent to an entirely different world. Maybe in this world, even the laws of physics functioned differently.

It would have sounded like a poorly said joke if he didn't witness it, but he had witnessed people that ran faster than horses moving around, and it seemed like walking around with a huge sword on one's back was a common thing here, enough that no one seemed to pay much attention to such people, though they weren't many of them.

Because of this, Daivi had long theorized the existence of something like magic in this new world he was in, and rather than despair, he was quite excited to grow up and learn this magic thing. He had dreamt about such a world back in his former world countless times after all. This was practically a dream come through. Maybe dying isn't all that bad, he thought.

. . .

Soon, Daivi turned two years old. There was no celebration to speak of, but it was no problem, he was already used to it even before he was born in this world.

Over time, he learnt of some new pieces of information. Besides that, he found it pretty difficult to genuinely love his new mother. Maybe it was because he already had a mother in is past life that he truly loved, he couldn't bring himself to accept this new one as his mother. Though, he was grateful to her for feeding him and changing his sheets that he so uncontrollably sullied every so often. It was frustrating, but if there was something Daivi prided himself, it was the fact that he was patient.

'I have this name! Sounds weird. What the fuck is a Daivi?!'

He had no father in this world, as it would seem. As to why that was, he couldn't say. Other than that unimportant matter, the real bad news was the fact that he had been born into a useless House.

(A/N: I am considering using Clan in place of House, since it's easier that way. I thought of using Sept, but clan seemed the better choice in this context, and its cooler)

Of course, this particular information was gathered from the opinion of others that were not part of the clan. It was not a general opinion, and he had only heard it from some people carrying blades. Even then, he kept the idea just in case it turned out to be true.

During these times, Daivi was taken outside to play in the park and such with other children, and he had to be there and play with these dumb babies that didn't understand the world yet. It was really tiring, but then, Daivi possessed great patience. He was able to allow himself not hit any sand lover around him.

Time went by, and Daivi started talking more fluently. Learning in this infant body was super easy, plus his mother spoke to him so much that he got tired of it. He had asked his mother about his father in a childish manner, the best he could.

"Mama? What about dad? The other kids have dads, why don't I have one?"

It only caused her to cry and in the end couldn't give any answers, not that he needed them anyway. He only thought it would be the normal thing for him to do as a child, after all, everyone else had a father.
