The next morning, Kazi was very excited to begin school. This could be the saying that goes 'being a child at heart', even though his was a reverse of that. Who wouldn't be excited, after all, he was going to enrol in an academy where he will be taught how to wield strong magical powers that completely spit in the face of 'physics'.
He rushed into the bathroom to get himself ready immediately. Kazi looked at himself in the mirror that was placed in the bathroom.
He was at least 140cm tall, nothing too grand or low, he was average as most of the other kids. The only difference though, was that his body was better built than theirs. Maybe he would be at the same level as the top trained clan children.
'Wherever there is a clan or family, there is always competition... In fact, there doesn't need to be any clan even, humans are naturally competitive.'
Kazi had a much more fitted looking body, definitely not what a six year old should look like. He had considered changing his diet the best he could, but then again, this was a fantasy world, maybe under the effect of ora, it wouldn't have that much difference.
After he was done taking his bath, he threw on simple clothes, just a trouser and long sleeves. He figured it would also be a good idea not to look too different from the normal kids with chubby and normal tender fleshed bodies. After putting on his sandals that looked to made out of some kind of leathery material, he went to the dinning to eat the food his mother had prepared.
'She really looks down a bit.'
Kazi couldn't help but notice the expression on his mothers face. After all, she was never supportive of the idea of him joining the academy. He could only say a few words of encouragement to save himself from stressful situations in the near future.
On getting to the academy, the parents were urged to allow the children go in themselves, while the parents themselves waited around in an area provided.
Kazi could spot many parents that were dressed in similar clothing, like some kind of uniform.
'I guess the fighting force in every world wears green, huh?'
The children quickly headed towards a particular section there in the open, in front of academy building. Kazi spotted the crowed right away after arrival and headed there himself.
It was a simple as they just had their height and weight, then they wrote down their names and some other little stuff. In a very short moment, Kazi was done and left to meet his mother, same with the other children.
She still seemed reluctant to let him go when the children were asked to gather, but it was too late now, and Kazi happily left her arms to proceed forward.
The parents left, and the children were called for an assembly. Before their very eyes, two men appeared out of nowhere, astonishing the children, Kazi included. He understood that they only created such an entrance to wow the children, but it didn't stop it from captivating him too.
The ones who appeared were the principal and vice principal. The principal gave an awe inspiring speech that definitely uplifted the spirits of the children to even greater heights and boosted their morale. Kazi could care less about the speech anyway, as these were just cheap words to deceive the children. If it happened back in his formal world, this one with supernatural powers was no different.
'Be done with it, I have learning to do.'
After the speeches, they were all divided into different classes. Kazi was in the class 1B, so he located where it was and headed there.
Entering the class, Kazi spotted an empty seat towards the back and immediately walked over to take his seat. He did a quick scan around the class, but didn't find anyone note worthy. It was too soon for that anyway, 'the true gems will only show over time.'
The class looked like any other lecture hall, and had space enough for all the children.
After they waited some minutes and everybody had entered the class, the teacher came into the class before telling them to seat.
He gave a quick introduction, and without wasting anytime, went straight to ask them to pull out the little book they had each been handed.
"My name is Ra Sinko, you shall know me as Shinko. Alright, bring out the booklet you were given and recite the Oat."
Ra Sinko was a very stern man. He didn't look to be above 35, but he certainly wasn't below 30. There were particular emotions on his face as he spoke, even his tone sounded flat.
Everyone did as he said and pulled out their books, the one they had been handed. Ezra was also quite curious was the oat was.
Seeing that everyone had taken their books and opened then to the appropriate page, Sinko called for everybody to start at once.
'What the fuck is this bullshit?' Kazi couldn't stop the thought.
As instructed, everyone began reciting in unison;
"As a future sutori of the land, I swear to give my every effort to the support and growth of the land, to carry out unfailingly every order given by my superior, defend the land even with my life from enemies, foreign or domestic, and abide according to the laws and code as a sutori under the land." Kazi spoke grudgingly at some point as he was feeling unwilling to say such words out loud.
'This is completely crazy! I knew it would be a militaristic kind of setting, but this... They are brainwashing us right from the very first day!'
Give his life for the land? Carryout every order of his superior? Bullshit! There was no way Kazi was abiding by these bunch of shit. 'No way!'
Like an unfilial child, Kazi, from that moment, started having ideas of leaving the province. If he stayed, it would mean his life getting much harder as he can't exactly ignore these rules placed upon them. 'It's a trap! They could literally send me to my death and I have no opinion in the matter. It's exactly like the military from earth!'
