Mo Hu's material processing unit was operational and every few days, he would deposit the debris from the mine into the collection container. As the sorted materials filled the storage containers, he would collect the filled containers and store them in a different room on the fourth floor. While he waited to harvest enough resources to refine the ship and motorcycle, he studied the grand array, his own storage ring, and Quanliyan's library to create arrays to simplify his travel.
Four months later, Mo Hu had gathered all the necessary materials and completed most of the designs, but was lacking a reliable source of power. He decided to spend more time mining since solar power couldn't power the vehicles by itself. The next week his persistence paid off and he found a spirit stone mine. It was mostly low quality spirit stones and only a few medium quality spirit stones. Mo Hu was aware that spirit stones formed when in close proximity to a spiritual vein. The vein over time would strengthen and the stones around it would increase in quality due to the increase in saturation of Qi energy of a purer quality.
'Could it possible to create a rechargeable Qi battery using this stone and an artifact to infuse Qi into it.' Mo Hu pondered, 'let's test it out.'
He gathered one hundred low quality spirit stones and absorbed the Qi inside them. Then he took the drained stones and carved them into cylinders and engraved certain arrays on the surface. With one hundred batteries made, he turned his attention his attention to the battery charger. He built a table size container that could hold the one hundred batteries. He connected the charger to the spirit vein with an array similar to how the grand array was connected. He added monitoring, spirit gathering, and his own personal 'fusion' array to the artifact and activated it. Due to protections he installed to keep Qi from leaking, he couldn't sense the its operation, but two hours later a light flashed signaling that the minimum level of charge was complete. Mo Hu opened the infuser and pulled a battery out to inspect, and to his relief, the previously empty battery revealed a low quality spiritual Qi aura once again.
'If I keep them in for longer, they will eventually become medium or high grade batteries,' Mo Hu said.
He promptly returned the batteries to the charger infuser and altered the settings to high and activated the artifact again.
Mo Hu took out the blueprint scroll that contained the plans for his ship, bike, drones, and another addition, a tablet.
'First things first, I need a forge, lab, and glass blowing station. I think the second and third floor would be the perfect location for these facilities,' he decided. He spent the next week setting up all the equipment, and gathered the materials to begin the projects. His first project was the tablet as he settled on a folding style case with image capturing arrays. He installed the grand array control disk into the tablet so that he could completely control the island from his tablet. Once it was complete he moved on to the ship, he took inspiration from his past life and recreated his old yacht, the Delta Yacht, and scaled down its size. Although it was smaller, it had many features that the original lacked. It would travel both on top of and under the surface of the water and had invisibility and silent arrays to travel without being detected. He could connect the tablet to the ship and using the ship's equipment, build a map of the area. The next project was a hover bike with an enclosed cockpit, Mo Hu decided to make a hover bike over a motorcycle because he didn't want any curious people following his tire tracks. The bike would feature many of the same characteristics as the ship. The last artifact he designed was a drone, it couldn't attack, it was purely a scouting tool. Mo Hu ignited the forge and started refining all the materials, then used the refining techniques he had learned and practiced to shape each component and frame. He proceeded to start producing all the glass required before gathering all the parts, components, frames, and glass and engraving all the arrays onto them before assembling all the pieces together.
After a few days the batteries had reached high quality, so he stored all of them and left the cave, heading to the beach. He summoned the boat and entered, placing batteries into all the receptacles and turning power on. Lights flashed as lights for all the systems flashed temporarily, afterwards Mo Hu activated the power and began testing all the systems. Once he was satisfied he powered the ship down and stored it again. Then he brought the hover bike out and accomplished the same test again. Finally, he ran the drone through its own test and afterwards knew that when he returned for this trip he would have to produce a lot more.
'When I return from this recruitment journey, I will make more drones. They can explore the island and even patrol the perimeter of the island as well.' Mo Hu mused.
The supplies needed for the trip was mostly provided by the inventory in the ring, except for for meals. Mo Hu would gather the items himself and cook a large variety of dishes so that he wouldn't have to rely on hunting. The ready made meals wouldn't spoil the ring, and would be ready to eat when retrieved. With this step completed, he was ready to travel.
