Mo Hu was pleased with what he had accomplished so far, but he felt there were a few more issues that needed addressing before he left. His first task was monitor the island during his absence just in case others entered like those teenagers a year ago. He had a simple answer for this and began to manufacture drones, aerial, naval, and sun nautical, each with the same design and purpose. While operating the drones would patrol the island, arrays would keep invisible, silent, and undetectable by scans using Qi. Any alerts would be sent to his tablet and they held multiple batteries but were programmed to return to base for charging before running out of power. In the event of not being able to return, the drone would activate its spirit gathering system to limp home and send a distress signal to Mo Hu. He created ten aerial, six naval, and two nautical drones. He activated half and programmed both teams to patrol for eighteen hours where one hour would be shared by all.
'Quanliyan?' Mo Hu called out.
'I'm here, do you have a question?' Quanliyan responded.
'I have a question and a proposal for you,' Mo Hu replied, 'if I'm not mistaken, you said that you are an artifact spirit before, correct? Which mean you have a connection with your artifact?'
'That is correct,' Quanliyan replied, curious what Mo Hu's thoughts were.
'Would it be possible for you to from a connection with the grand array?' Mo Hu asked, 'and if it's possible, are you will to do so?'
'And what would that accomplish?' Quanliyan was confused by the idea.
'By you connecting to the grand array, you would be able to monitor the whole island and command the array even when we are away. By the way, where is your artifact?' Mo Hu asked.
'Ah, I was wondering when you become curious about that,' Quanliyan sighed, 'My proper name is the Sage's Advice and I'm an artifact that attaches to a cultivator's eyes, head, and spine. It's not a stretch to say that I'm always with you and have been since you were an infant.'
Mo Hu was visually shocked and after a few minutes of silence, he stood up and paced around the room. After drinking some tea, he asked, 'How did you find me and why did you meld with me when I was just a child?'
'After the previous cultivator I was attuned to died and I was damaged, I did my best to hide in the common world,' Quanliyan explained, 'then one day as I was sitting on a merchant's stall, your mother passed by carrying you and even though I didn't have much energy left, I could tell there was something different about you.'
'Different? What do you mean different?' Mo Hu replied seemingly suspicious.
'Even until today, I'm not sure why but you're the only person I'm unable to scan. I'm fairly certain that you have body constitution that is extremely rare or never been seen before. I've existed for over one hundred thousand years and haven't a clue what your body constitution is,' Quanliyan revealed.
'How can you be so sure?' Mo Hu questioned.
'There are three reasons why I feel that something is special about you,' Quanliyan continued, 'The first is that you breakthrough realms and stages with ease. This isn't normal, even geniuses and prodigies have to still attempt to breakthrough. The second is that you walk through formations like they aren't even there and I've never seen anyone accomplish that. The last reason is that this island is surrounded by high level sea beasts and beast kin yet they never noticed you during your travels. Honestly even with you surviving and hiding skills, it should have been impossible to hide from all the beasts, magic beasts, and beast kin. Their senses are highly sensitive, but you slipped their territories with no effort.'
'Does that mean that my ability to simulate my skills in my head is also related to my body's ability?' Mo Hu was curious.
'I'm afraid not, while you do have a perfect memory, your ability to practice in your mind comes from me,' Quanliyan responded, 'but I do have good news, since I'm attuned to you, I'm also attuned to your "tablet" so I can oversee the grand array.'
'One last question then, why should I believe that you won't try to overtake my body once you've recovered enough?' Mo Hu sternly asked.
'I don't suppose there is anything I can say to clear your suspicions, just know that to control another person's body is very difficult. It's not hard to entice or guide a person into making a decision but to literally take over a body requires someone who is closely compatible to the target. Each person is born with a body and soul that perfectly fits, and even if another soul enters your body, there will be differences and those differences will be enough to cause the attacker to fail. Of course there are those cultivators that follow the Demonic path and often make great sacrifices to accomplish such deeds but with me attuned with you won't have to worry about them,' Quanliyan lectured.
'Well it's not like I can do anything about it and your already implanted in my head and spine so I'll just have to trust you,' Mo Hu acknowledged his situation.
'I believe that just like the formations on the island, I wouldn't be able to affect you either,' Quanliyan predicted.
'In the mean time, how about the two of us review my tablet so I can teach you all the functions and details. Even though I'm not going to just hand everything over for your supervision, I do want you to be familiar with how this and future projects will run.' Mo Hu suggested.
As Mo Hu began teaching Quanliyan how the tablet and grand array interfaced, he started to walk over to the beach. With a quick flick of his wrist, the ship he built entered the water. It opened and allowed him to enter and then closed again. Mo Hu released a scout drone and then the ship and the drone began to move back towards the Nanying continent.
