It was at this point in the conversation that Ervin stopped listening and made his plans.
The emotions between the group members were running unfathomably high. High hopes are exactly what Ervin wanted to make the best of his Demon Orb.
Ervin got to a considerably close distance from the weakened patrol team.
Once at a spot he deemed perfect, Ervin instantly surged the power of Frantic Fire Storm straight into his arms.
Gleaming waves of flames blasted out of his palms, furiously rushing into the world with the momentum to torch anything to ashes.
'Chi!'
The atmosphere suddenly started to rise to an unfathomable painful degree. Principles of Fire Mana swirled all around, instantly engulfing the weakened patrol team!
"What?!?" Everyone in the patrol team's eyes suddenly widened, each of them shrieking from the intense heat crashing down on their bodies.
Their vision was suddenly engulfed by the painful rays of bright flames swirling across the area. The flames seemingly danced all around the wood, flowing in a hypnotic pattern to pull anyone's soul into an unbreakable trance.
In just a single instant, the flames condensed into a raging frantic storm of fire that the world wouldn't be able to contain.
"Ahh!!" Everyone in the group, including the Adept Mages unleashed anguished squeals.
The chaotic flames directly burned parts of their bodies, drilling into their flesh and torching their nerves!
For the Late Stage Novice Mage and the Non-Mage, even if they were at their full health, these powerful chaotic swirls of flames would still tear deep into their bodies.
The power behind these flames was terrifying, being exactly equal to other Late Stage Novice Mages!
Layers of flesh were brutally fried off their skin. The Novice Mages were struggling to use their Mana to just barely stay alive. The vitality force of Mana alone at least allowed one to sustain their lifeforce for a short amount of time even with extreme injuries.
But the Non-Mage did not have such an ability. She was only alive because of the defensive Mage robes the other Mages put on her. Not that it matters much. Frantic Fire Storm was still slashing through the robes, flames sizzling more into her skin, burning her flesh at an agonizing rate practically slowly burning her alive!
The gruesome sight caused the Adept Mages to go crazy.
Normal times and these flames would easily be dealt with by their superior Mana power. But severely weakened plus extremely drained on their Mana reserves, this frantic fiery storm was pushing them rapidly close to death.
The Adept Mages had no choice. The Adept Mage holding the young woman could only push her away on to the ground so she wouldn't get killed by his next action. In that moment, both Adept Mages bit down on their tongue, spewing out a crimson trail of blood glistening with powerful rays of Ice Mana!
Instantly, an immense surge of Mana blasted out of their veins, condensing into an unfathomable wave of frosty mist.
The Adept Mage combusted the blood essence containing the source of their Mana!
'Barrier!'
Ice Mana instantly condensed around the entire patrol team. The powerful wave of Ice couldn't be stopped. Even with waves of flames engulfing the atmosphere, the Ice Mana had managed to actually freeze over any speck of flame that had gotten close!
The Ice Mana manifested as a large Ice barrier that shielded them from the frantic fiery storm.
The Adept Mages violently trembled. Neither of them could resist puking up seas of blood from overexerting on their Mana and the sheer pain that the frantic fiery storm caused on their bodies.
The Late Stage Novice Mages and the Non-Mages' bodies were intensely convulsing. They continually twitched, showcasing an eerie sight to the Adept Mages.
If they don't do anything, these people would simply die from the massive damage the frantic fiery storm caused.
The Adept Mages were about to force down their dazed state to stabilize the others.
However, right at that moment, one of the Adept Mage's pupils suddenly dilated. An approaching sense of danger erupted from his soul, screaming at him to get the hell away from here.
However, the feeling of being alerted to danger was all too late.
'Chi!'
A cold flash of a silver magical sword pierced through their air, suddenly appearing seemingly out of thin air.
Blood wildly splattered. The Adept Mage's eyes widened to an extreme degree. The magical silver sword mercilessly pierced straight through his chest, brutally puncturing right through his lungs with blood spewing all across the ground!
With a slight pulsation from the blade, an unstoppable wave of Mana forcefully flowed through the Adept Mage's body, completely suppressing him to the point of immobilization.
At the same time, the person holding the magical silver sword revealed themselves.
Ervin had to cancel out his Invisible State just for a moment to keep hold of his Mana reserves. Even with greater strength and a better magical talent, the cost of using Frantic Fire Storm was still considerably large.
The Adept Mage blankly stared at the suddenly appearing Ervin. A person dressed in Mage Enforcer robes had ambushed them and even suppressed him.
Many questions ran through his mind. But the intense feeling of hatred surged straight towards the top!
Ervin cared little about the Adept Mage's stare as he kicked his body off the blade, causing a wave of blood to spray all around them.
Just when Ervin finished one of the Adept Mages, his whole body gained a creeping chill. The sensation of death was merely inches away from him!
"Die!"
The other Adept Mage sliced out his palm coated in glimmering Ice Mana. His speed, even in his desperate state, was still exceedingly fast, reaching Ervin's back in less than a second.
The Ice Mana palm still contained a higher force of Mana Ervin couldn't possibly match.
Layers of Ervin's robe was slashed right through. A streak of blood spewed as the Ice Mana palm tore a single inch into Ervin's back.
Glee briefly illuminated the Adept Mage's face. He believed, on his last breath, he would be able to take down this demonic Mage.
However, right at that moment, the feeling of tearing through flesh suddenly vanished for the Adept Mage!
"What?" The Adept Mage was utterly bewildered.
Despite clearly touching Ervin's body, his Ice Mana palm was now phasing right through him without affecting his flesh at all.
Cold sweat broke out on both the Adept Mage's face and Ervin's face. If Ervin was just a second slower in manipulating his Mana, the Adept Mage would've already sent him down to meet King Yama.
Thankfully, Complete Invisibility not only allowed Ervin to barely escape the jaws of death, but it also caused the essence of the Adept Mage's Mana to phase out of his body.
Unlike others, he did not have to deal with the powerful invading essence of Mana.
At that very moment, Ervin slashed out his magical sword with as much speed as he could possibly muster.
The cold silver edge gleamed against the icy Mana radiance.
There wasn't any time for the Adept Mage to put up any resistance, his body was completely drained of everything, barely able to function after wasting away all of his Mana.
'Chi!'
The Adept Mage's mouth and eyes flung open. Blood continually pooled out of his chest as the magical sword pierced deep into his lung just like with his partner!
Additionally, a wave of Ervin's Mana completely suppressed the Adept Mage from moving his body anymore.
Ervin indifferently pulled out his magical sword, causing the Adept Mage to flop to the ground, and then he turned his attention to the convulsing Novice Mages.
He moved with swift speeds. His magical silver sword radiated a deathly chill colder than that of the freezing atmosphere.
Numerous splatters of blood soon sprayed all across the area.
Everyone, including the Non-Mage, had their lungs pierced with a wave of Mana suppressing their bodies.
When the barrier of Ice Mana covering the area finally dispersed, the only one left standing was Ervin.
Even this result slightly surprised Ervin. The power of reaching the Late Stage realm was surprisingly more than he could've expected.
When this combined with the fact he reached peak Small Success in Frantic Fire Storm and Telekinesis, while the Adept Mage Mages could somehow put up a resistance, the Late Stage Novice Mages were absolutely helpless in their weakened state.
It was better for Ervin in any case. Even four injured Late Stage Novice Mage can easily kill him if they have good enough teamwork.
As his thoughts mused, Ervin quietly took out the Demon Orb.
The Demon Orb's crimson glow brightly shined within the dreary atmosphere of the Twilight Woods. In fact, the Demon Orb began to violently pulsate, moving as if it was deeply excited about something.
Ervin cast out his Magical Sense to know why. In an instant, he was hit with intense, overwhelming feelings of absolute hatred.
Everyone on the ground completely suppressed hated Ervin to degrees that surpassed his other victims. The vicious glints gleaming in their eyes told that they wanted to tear Ervin into millions of pieces by biting off his flesh.
Ervin found their hatred to make complete sense.
Just literally seconds ago, they all were very hopeful about returning home. The Mage Enforcers wanted to make a difference in a Non-Mage life. While the Non-Mage finally started to believe her life wouldn't be so desperate.
But all of that was taken away in seconds by this random demonic Mage. A Mage wearing the same robe that was supposed to spell justice and protection for Lightwall City.
Everything the fallen group had ever worked for, lived through, all of it gone by the hands of a demonic Mage who only had an indifferent expression on his face.
