Saine district
Shinji walked briskly down the sidewalk. He wore a Newly Christened button up adorned with the emblem of his gang, Ayakashi, he finally made squad leader. The button up conveyed a sense of loyalty and camaraderie and prestige. Shinji had been with the gang for almost 2 years now. putting in a lot of work, some of which even most senior members couldn't accomplish. So, it only was right he made captain right?
News had just reached Aya of an impending attack planned by the Fujiwara Boys, a notorious motorcycle gang from a different section of saine. The tension in the air was palpable, and Shinji's mind was consumed with thoughts of strategies and preparations for the upcoming clash. He clenched his fists, both eager and apprehensive about the impending confrontation.
Lost in his thoughts, Shinji only half-registered the world around him. The murmurs of passersby, the distant hum of cars, and the occasional flickering streetlights formed a backdrop to his racing mind. Neon signs adorned the storefronts, casting vibrant colors onto the pavement, while the scent of street food filled the air, momentarily distracting him from his concerns.
As he made his way through the quiet neighborhood, Shinji's path crossed with that of a girl.
She stood under a flickering streetlight, her presence captivating. Her bright eyes sparkled like stars against her porcelain skin, and her flowing ebony hair seemed to dance in the gentle breeze. Shinji couldn't help but be drawn to her, his breath catching in his throat. He'd never seen such beauty before not even from the girls at his school.
Time seemed to pause as they locked eyes, and a silent understanding passed between them. Shinji's thoughts of the impending attack faded into the background as he tried to unravel the mystery of the girl before him. Who was she? What was her story? In that moment, all he could think about was her captivating beauty and the enchantment she seemed to radiate. She wore a typical school uniform, one of which Shinji had never seen before.
The gentle hum of the city seemed to fade away as Shinji and the girl stood there, locked in an unspoken connection. The world around them ceased to exist as he pored over every detail of her face, trying to etch it into his memory. Her presence was intoxicating, and he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming desire to know more about her. She gave a brief smile was she moved her hair behind her ears. The light of the streetlamp seemed to make her glow as if she was a celestial being. Her Deep yellow eyes seemed to burn into Shinji retinas. A stare into the soul as if she were reading his thoughts.
But reality soon tugged at Shinji's consciousness, reminding him of the danger looming over his gang. With a heavy sigh, he reluctantly tore his gaze away from the girl, his heart heavy with longing and unanswered questions.
"I... I should go," Shinji muttered, his voice barely audible in the evening air. He took a step back, his eyes lingering on the girl for a moment longer before he turned to continue his journey home.
As he walked away, Shinji couldn't shake the feeling that their encounter held a deeper significance, as if their paths were destined to cross again. The memory of the girl's captivating beauty and the unspoken connection they shared would stay with him.
As he arrived home, he quickly changed out of his shirt and placed it in his bag before walking into his house. He was greeted by his mother who was in the kitchen cooking.
"Dinner will be ready shorty my dear, why don't you go freshen up" he heard his mother say as soon as he walked through the door.
His life at home was an average one, his dad had passed away when he was 5 in the corporate wars leaving him, his older brother and mom to fend for themselves. This is what prompted Shinji to join up with Aya in the first place, hoping to seek vengeance on the one who caused him to lose his father. His older brother Shiro was studying in college a completely different path from his younger brother. Since Shinji became of age to understand, he's been the man of the house.
"How was your day love?" His mother asks as he settles into his spot at the table.
"Fine." He replied with a mellow grunt.
"Please try not to stay up too late." She said, taking a small bite from her plate.
"I have to pick up an extra shift in the morning and I'll need your help with an errand." His mother continued as she finished her bite.
with the passing of his father years ago, Shinji's mom had been working tirelessly to maintain their life. Working for the Kada Corp she saw long days on an assembly line at a job that barley made ends meet. Shinji didn't like seeing his mother in this state, she didn't seem like the woman he'd always known.
Ever since his dad past his mom has been totally different.
She's not the smiley happy woman she had been before.
She even cut and dyed her hair back black from the golden blonde that had made her glow before.
"That's fine, but I am supposed to be meeting up with a few friends tomorrow morning." Shinji says, pondering on the thought of tomorrow he couldn't help but think of the meeting.
"A gang war huh?" Shinji thought,
I mean he's been in plenty of fights. He was definitely no stranger to combat, but a motorcycle gang is different.
As Shinji excused himself from the table, he made his way upstairs to his room. the sounds of creaking floorboards and buzzing of the overhead lights made Shinji zone out. Was he really ready for something like this, the responsibility? The life of others in his hands when even his life wasn't manageable. Between school and keeping the secret of being in a street gang from his mother, a sense of Deja vu washed over him.
Shinji, lying in bed, couldn't help but think about the impending gang battle that his crew was about to face. The anticipation weighed heavily on his mind as he considered the potential consequences. But amidst the thoughts of violence and conflict, another image kept surfacing—the mysterious girl he had seen earlier.
She had caught his attention, standing out from the crowd with her unfamiliar appearance. She didn't seem like she belonged to his school or even his district. Shinji wondered who she was and what brought her to their neighborhood. The encounter had left an impression on him, and he found himself curious to learn more about her.
As he scrolled through his phone, engrossed in his thoughts, a notification from Darui , a member of his gang, popped up. It was a message regarding tomorrow's meeting spot to coordinate the plan to gain Mr. Yamamoto's Skada Chip. Shinji knew it was important to stay focused on the upcoming battle and the responsibilities that came with it. He replied to Darui, discussing the logistics and ensuring that everyone was on the same page for the meeting.
But deep down, Shinji's mind couldn't help but wander back to the girl. Questions swirled in his thoughts—was she connected to the rival gang somehow? Or was she just an innocent bystander caught in the middle of their turf war? He knew he had to stay vigilant and protect his crew, but the enigma of the girl remained a lingering curiosity that he couldn't shake off. As he closed his eyes the world faded to black, along with the thoughts of the world around him.
