(10 mins earlier to previous chapter)
The chip was rumored to contain invaluable information, holding the secrets and plans of his notorious organization. We knew that analyzing this data could potentially give us the upper hand in our fight against them.
The amount of lives on world and off world he's effected. Slave trading, servitude, forced labor. Thousof pictures of worker mining what looks like an asteroid. Both alien and human, a long MIA list for missing workers who just vanished. I could go on and on.
As we settled down in our command center, surrounded by monitors and equipment, we began the process of extracting and deciphering the contents of the chip.
His current bank held a value of •$6.6 trillion.
As we extracted both money and information, my mind couldn't help but ponder still on the fact that Kazuki was that skilled.
As I looked on to the information that scrolled on screen, it was so much to process. The countless lives..
Each passing moment was filled with anticipation, knowing that every byte of information could be a vital piece in the puzzle we were trying to solve.
We extracted the money into our secured skada bank and uploaded it to our private server.
"Holy shit.. we rich dude.." I heard Mei say clasping her hands on her cheeks.
" but still Yamamoto is dead and this isn't going to go well." I said still continuing to watch the information on screen.
The man who gave us this information had disappeared when everything went to hell. Slipping out between the gun fire and action.
We had to leave hiro, in a panic we left as quick as we could as to avoid Yamamotos goons.
We had yet to hear from Giro either, not since the mysterious man..
"Hold up.. where's giro?" I said turning towards Mei and an obviously tired Kazuki.
"I have no idea.. haven't heard from him since the mission started." Kazuki said. Looking down at his hands.
"Yeah and not only that we still had that attack coming right? Do you think he was able to stop that?" Mei said looking from me to Kazuki then back to me.
"Yeah I haven't been home either, but yet my mother hasn't called me or anything." I said remembering to check my phone. I had honestly forgotten all about it since this began.
" twenty missed calls- mother
"133 messages- mother"
"Shit.. my mothers going to be pisssssed." I said reading through the messages. She was asking me kindly at first to come home quickly.
Then her sentences became more erratic and explicit. As I quickly call her phone, I began to ring. After 30 seconds her voicemail came up.
Frantically I dialed over and over , each time receiving a voicemail box.
"My mothers not picking up, check on your folks also." I said to Mei and Kazuki, both who still seemed in a trance.
" shinji some strange men are here. They claim you took something?.. I .. I don't know what you took but please come back!" Her last voice mail said, her voice practically hysterical and her words slurred.
The sound of men in the background could be heard. Savagely laughing at my mothers pain.
"They.. they have my mom!" I said turning to Kazuki and Mei in shock.
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the air, causing us all to jolt in surprise. It was followed by the unmistakable sound of hundreds of footsteps, rapidly approaching our location.
Fear gripped my heart as I exchanged glances with my comrades, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
Amidst the chaos, a man's voice boomed through a loudspeaker, cutting through the tension in the room. His words were clear, carrying a chilling tone that sent shivers down my spine.
The voice belonged to someone we had encountered before, a high-ranking member of Yamamoto's organization, known for his ruthlessness and cunning.
"Attention, fools!" the man's voice declared, his words filled with contempt.
"We know you have what rightfully belongs to us. Surrender it now, and we might spare your pathetic lives."
His words hung in the air, the weight of the ultimatum pressing down on us. We knew that giving up the chip was not an option. The information it held was our only hope of dismantling Yamamoto's criminal empire and bringing justice to those who had suffered under his rule.
With a grimace , I looked at my friends, their eyes reflecting the same resolve. We had come too far to turn back now. We would stand our ground and protect the precious data we had fought so hard to obtain.
As the man's voice faded, we exchanged a silent nod, readying ourselves for the inevitable confrontation that awaited us outside. The battle for the truth had just begun.
"Kazuki… do we have any weapons." I said looking towards him and he nodded his head no.
"All I have is my sword, but we can order some real quick." He said jumping onto the computer. I did forget to mention we can transmutate matter haha.
My heart pounded in my chest as the voice of a man on a loudspeaker continued to reverberated through the air.
He claimed to be here for the Skada chip we had obtained, the very chip we had just uploaded to our secure server, successfully securing the funds that could make a difference in our fight against Yamamoto's organization.
Reality set in as I glanced around the room. We were outnumbered and outgunned, with limited options at our disposal. Desperation flickered in our eyes as we searched for a way out of this dire situation.
Kazuki, our tech expert, was already accessing his computer, ordering us the much-needed gear we required to even the odds.
Time seemed to stretch as we waited for the ordered equipment to arrive through our FedBox. Each passing second felt like an eternity, our anxiety rising with every footstep drawing closer to our location.
We knew that the battle we were about to face would be intense, and our survival depended on our ability to outwit and outmaneuver our adversaries.
With the gear finally in our possession, we wasted no time in preparing ourselves for the imminent clash.
We huddled together, discussing our strategy in hushed tones. Our plan was to launch a swift and calculated attack, catching our enemies off-guard and gaining the upper hand before they could fully comprehend the situation.
As we neared the door, tension hung heavy in the air. We took a final moment to steady our nerves, reminding ourselves of the importance of our mission and the lives that hung in the balance. The gravity of the situation was not lost on any of us.
With a shared determination, we nodded to each other, wordlessly acknowledging our readiness to face the unknown.
We tightened our grips on our weapons and steeled ourselves for the imminent battle. The time for action had come, and as the door swung open, we stepped out, stepping into the unknown, ready to face whatever awaited us with unwavering resolve and hope for victory.
