Tuk slowed his speed as he let the princess run past him. "Princess, you have to keep going," he said.
"What?" the princess exclaimed.
"If we go like this, the two of us will surely be caught by them. So, I'm going to stop here and try to stop them," said Tuk.
The princess's gaze looked past Tuk toward the leader and Idrik running behind them. Compared to the two of them, their speed seemed rather slow.
And to their slow pace, the reason is not Tuk but her.
[It's all because of me. If only I were more courageous and had the mind to make decisions more mindfully, none of this would have happened,] the thought of self-blame appeared in her heart.
She wanted to tell Tuk to stop sacrificing himself, but she didn't have the courage to do it. She knew that only if he stayed behind could she hope to escape from those bandits.
