Chapter 2 - Would you still love me?

The air was now slightly warm. The sidewalks covered in the pink cherry blossoms. The new school year had just begun.

As Akane walked towards her second year at Jiro High, she felt the warm breeze graze her soft skin. She held her long, silky black hair behind her ear, as to keep it out of her beautiful crimson eyes. This was it. After the heart break of last year, the kind words of the stranger gave her a new hope.

She never even caught his name. As soon as he appeared, no sooner was he gone. Leaving her his umbrella and an unforgettable memory. Was she experiencing love again? Surley not, she thought to herself. How could she love a man she didnt even know or catch the name of? It's not like she would see him ever again.

"Right then!", Akane smirked as she started for the school entrance.

Akane's friend since childhood had caught up to her, making her have a distasteful look on her face.

"What's wrong Akane? Aren't you glad to see me?", Shido grinned with a devilish smile.

Akane looked at him for a moment as if contemplating how to get out of the situation.

"Of course I am Shido!", she lied with a fake smile.

She put her shoes into her locker and slammed it shut.

"Well, i should get to class Shido.", she said, while turning away to walk towards the grand staircase in the center of the school.

She had almost let her guard down again. The agonizing pain had started to tighten in her chest again.

"I won't let it happen again", she thought to her self.

The strangers words, like a miracle, had popped into her head. "It will get better. I promise."

Her face became flush and her heart raced. His words rung through her like the bells on a church. Wait, the bells?

The school bell was ringing and Akane was about to be late.

"Late on my first day back!", Akane yelled as she sprinted up the grand stairs and through the halls towards her classroom.

Akane flung the door open and ran to her seat. Luckily for her, the teacher had yet to arrive. She quickly took her seat and let out a sigh of relief.

"Made it", she sighed.

The door to the class had opened again revealing their teacher. Miss Komatsu. A tall, slender lady with dark brown hair and light blue eyes.

"Alright Class! Settle down and get to your seats!", she exclaimed, calming down all the students.

All the students ran to their seats, eager to listen to Miss Komatsu's words.

"I know I have been with you for your entire highschool experience so far, but today I am just here to see you off.", she said while holding back the tears.

The students looked at her with sorrow and confusion.

"I am leaving to be married." She paused for a moment. "In my stead, my brother who has returned from our family overseas will be replacing me."

Akane was curious about this new change. She felt something in her chest but couldn't figure out what it could be.

"You can come in now Mr. Komatsu!", the teacher exclaimed.

The door opened slowly and a man with dark shiney shoes and a white button up that was cuffed at his elbows walked through the door.

Akane looked up. Her heart began to pound. There he was. The stranger that saved her. The man with the same broken expression on his face. Akane couldn't believe what she was seeing. She had met her savior again.

The man walked up to the podium and with a dull expression on his face he said,

"Hello class. I will be your new teacher. My name is Takeo Komatsu. I hope we get along this year."

Akane's lit up red. There he was. Her new found hope was there. The more she thought about it, the more she realized. It was love.

"But why did you have to be my teacher!?", Akane exclaimed, causing the whole classroom to look at her.
