Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23

"What do you mean by his unreasonable disappearance?" Mr. Rafael stated he was talking to one of his men, who had previously assigned him, to arrest Kan, but there wasn't any trace of him. It was as if the earth split open and swallowed him.

Rafael was nervous; despite his unlimited power and position, he couldn't find a single man. This was his first time failing at something he had planned to do.

He went to the garden, where there were many noises and loud yelling in Erika's name. It was Rosalina; she stood in front of the bodyguards with a cross-hands and disappointed face.

Her red eyes, struggling not to tear, she wiped her cheeks, carelessly removing her ruined make-up. She headed to Rafael, who eyed her from toes to head; he didn't have time to hear her complaining.

"Better if you keep your sad story to yourself"

He sighed then added: " And you have the audacity to stand in front of me after what your husband did to Erika." Mr. Rafael stated.

Rosalina did not reply to his response; she bit her teeth and held the edge of her dress tightly till it was about to tear apart.

She noticed Erika, who had just woken up by her screams; she made herself be before Rosalina, but Rafael grabbed her back and shackled his head, making her aware not to approach.

"I am not here to argue with you or accuse you of terrible things; I do not deny that my husband has exaggerated and crossed the borders with you, but..." Rosalina bowed under Erika's feet; she let the river of her tears run as if there were no tomorrow.

Erika stepped back. She could feel her sister's pain; it was not her fault to be punished by her husband's sins. Erika knew that Kan had dampened Rosalina and made her fall for him.

"Please, sis, bring him home; I can't find him anywhere. I beg your forgiveness; he is the love of my life." Rosalina muttered the words in sadness tonr; she didn't stop crying.

Mr. Rafael pulled his hair and walked around himself in an angry way. Erika kneeled to raise Rosalina.

"Come on, sis, it's not your fault; he was a bad man, soon you will forget him, you're still young" Erika said, trying to help her to stand, but Rosalina pulled her to the ground till she hurt her arm.

Mr. Rafael ran and held Erika between his arms while his evil looks were on Rosalina.

"I know from the start that his past is not a supervisor, but I accepted everything in him—his bad side; I accepted being criticized for the age difference between us; you will not understand the feeling of adoring someone with all his bad and good," Rosalina screamed, hitting the ground and crying as loud as she could.

"Don't act like you care about me," Rosalina added as she dragged her feet out of Mr. Rafael's apartment gate.

Erika tried to stop her, but Mr. Rafael grabbed her hand and lifted her; he took her to her room.

"I don't understand the nature of your relationship with Mr. Milne's daughter, but I won't let her hurt you like this; you should not leave this room."

Mr. Rafael stated that without waiting for Erika's response, he left the room and locked it. Erika fell to the bed, crying. She blamed herself for Rosalina's situation.

"Yes, sir, it all done; no one will find him." A man, in his black suit, said he got a dragon tattoo on his arm.

"Good, you can leave now," Ronald replied as he was talking about Kan. The victory smile on his face was a rose.

"I won't rest until you're fine, Erika," Ronald stated as he entered the meeting of the periodic medical committee of the city hospital.

They were waiting for his presence, as if he were the king. He sat in his special chair next to Doctor Akraman.

"I will hit the bottom of the matter—our meeting regarding the behavior of Dr. Ronald." The deputy director, Mr. Duncock, said in his hoarse voice

Ronald smiled with careless attention to his speech. He sighed, then eyed Mr. Duncock, who told him to answer his questions.

"Well, about Madam Lara surgery, I did my best to save her," Ronald said, remembering Erika's situation when he told her about her mother's death.

"That surgery was not your specialty, and it was the responsibility of Doctor Akerman; should you stop sticking your nose in everything?" Miss Doli shouted that she was the headmaster of the doctors in the hospital.

"Relax, Madam. I think I must end this hilarious meeting." Everyone was whispering after Ronald's statement.

He stood up; you would not take your eyes from him; he looked like a charming prince, more proud and full of glowing than the peacock.

"First of all, you obliged the patient to go through this unnecessary surgery, although you knew that she wasn't ready for it." Ronald spoke, but Jan interpreted him, saying, "Hey, what the hell are you talking about?"

Ronald gazed him in the eye, and he added:

"As you accepted a bribe by Mr. John to perform the operation for the patient, for whom you put an unparalleled cost throughout the history of the preaching hospital which it does not exist,"

Ronald walked towards Mr. Duncock and put some pictures in front of him, which showed the dirty deal that he had with Mr. John Milne.

"You are all involved in the crime; when the surgery did not work, you brought me to bear the guilt of your failure." Ronald clapped as he gazed at Doctor Akraman, the responsible doctor for Lara's situation.

"There are millions of souls who die in vain because of people like you. Try to be real doctors and save their lives," Ronald whispered with a bitter voice.

"You cannot accuse us of such awful things without evidence." Mr. Jan yelled as he hit the table.

Ronald threw all the pictures that he had on the air; they picked them up, everyone hid their faces from him, Ronald didn't stop on this he turned the video on the projector.

It was the recording of the surveillance cameras, which they thought they had gotten rid of, it showed them their crimes and what they had done under the cover.

"With this, I will conclude this frivolous meeting, and you will also be prosecuted based on these evidences. Good evening, gentlemen; the game is over," Ronald said as the police entered the meeting room, arresting all of those who had a hand in the crimes against humanity.
