Chapter 55 - 55. Blue Lightning

Seeing Hans blown away by Eric's attack, Herris smiled broadly, "This is getting more interesting!"

Before he had even taken a step, another bolt of blue lightning struck him so quickly that he met the same fate as Hans. He didn't even have a chance to react.

Eric was stunned, his hand still outstretched with a few sparks of blue lightning. He hadn't expected his attack to cause two people which they didn't even manage to injure in the slightest to be thrown away like that.

Was it because his magic had just awakened, so the amount of power he possessed was still uncontrollable? As a result, whatever attack he unleashed was extremely powerful?

Arion looked at the blue lightning in awe, 'Very cool.'

He frowned deeply, 'Wait a minute. Isn't he 5 years old?'

Arion remembered that cases of someone awakening their magic at the age of 5 were very rare because at that age, children's bodies were still very vulnerable. Their bodies were in danger of breaking because they could not bear the weight of the magical power.

Eric stared at the lightning sparks surrounding his hand in awe, "Blue lightning, huh..."

He honestly did not expect to awaken his magic at such a time. Besides, the color of the lightning was blue, his favorite color. It seemed that after all this, he had to find out more about blue lightning.

Eric clenched his fists, "I can protect them with this."

"Eric!"

Noam, Zane and Rose ran to him. Since their two enemies had been blown away by Eric's attack, they took advantage of it to regroup.

"You look amazing!" Noam praised with a big smile. He hadn't expected his rival to awaken his magic before him.

Eric snorted, "How unusual for you to say that?"

Noam snorted back, "I'm being honest, you know." He replied somewhat annoyed. Even though he was defeated, it didn't mean he wasn't proud of his friend.

Zane interjected worriedly, "But are you okay, Eric? Aren't you--"

"My body feels fine. Don't worry." Eric interrupted before Zane could finish his sentence. He understood what Zane was worried about, but for the moment he felt fine.

"Brother."

The call made him turn around. Hana walked over to him with Arion safely in her arms.

Eric rushed over to his sister, "Are you okay, Hana?" He asked worriedly, especially about Hana's injured arm.

Hana gave a small smile, "Apart from a little throbbing pain, everything is fine."

Eric breathed a sigh of relief before checking on his little brother, "What about Arion?"

Hana's brow furrowed sadly, "I saw him get zapped while he was inside the lightning ball."

She had already checked Arion's zapped hand. Luckily, it didn't leave any burns. It probably just feels a bit stinging and stiff at the moment.

Eric frowned worriedly. His little brother's body was still very fragile. Who knew what effect the blow would have on his little body. He should take Arion to the doctor right away.

Arion breathed a sigh of relief, relieved that the twins were not seriously injured, 'I'm fine. Don't worry.'

Eric and Hana's conversation was interrupted by a question from Rose, "How did you destroy the magic ball with a normal weapon, Hana?"

The three of them approached the orb that had trapped their respective younger siblings. They also wanted to free the three babies.

"By cutting off the current." Hana replied briefly, causing the three to stare at her in incomprehension.

"Right, we should be able to see it." Eric muttered after just remembering. Luckily his sister had taken care of it first.

Then his forehead wrinkled in confusion, "But even if we can see it, that doesn't mean we can just destroy it."

Hana just shrugged, also not knowing the answer. She was also confused as to why her arrow had managed to destroy the stream that connected Emily to the lightning ball. She was just acting on instinct.โŒ

"Hana?"

Hana blinked in surprise, "Ah, sorry, I don't know how to say this." She said in confusion. She remembered her father saying it was a secret so she couldn't tell her friends. But how could she explain it now?

Rose sighed in despair, "Then don't say it. Just destroy it," She said, growing impatient. She wanted to get her sister back as soon as possible.

"Okay."

Hana gave Arion to Eric. She knew that her brother should be able to do what she did. But it was better that only she showed her ability to avoid more questions.

Seeing his friends and his sister busy, Eric decided to approach Emily who was still on her knees.

Eric tightened his embrace on Arion as he looked at Emily, "You're not going to stop them?"

Emily snorted amusedly, "There's no point. I don't know if you're aware of it or not, but the weapons you're using are coated with paralyzing magic. My body will continue to be paralyzed as long as that arrow is still in my shoulder."

Eric blinked in surprise before he looked at his sword that was now draped around his waist. He didn't know that. He thought it was just a normal sword hidden for emergencies.

Eric shook his head slightly before turning his attention back to Emily, "I'm sure you were very confident a moment ago. Why do you look so resigned now?"

Emily looked down deeply, "I've said it many times, haven't I? I have my own priorities."

"Then--"

"But that doesn't mean I'm happy about it." Emily cut him off sharply. Her eyes were filled with hatred. If she could have moved her hand, she would have clenched it.

"What?" Eric asked confused. Arion watched their conversation carefully, especially Emily's current hateful expression. It must be something to do with her being forced to do all of this.

Emily glanced at Eric, "I'll make you a suggestion, Prince. It's better not to use your lightning magic if you don't want to be destroyed."

Eric was silent and did not answer. He was well aware of the consequences if he continued to stubbornly use his current magic. He didn't even have time to check.

Usually, when someone awakened their magic, they had to see a doctor immediately. Some children need time to get their bodies used to magic. If it's forced on them when their bodies aren't ready, it could be danger.

Eric snorted before turning to leave, "I'll do what I want."

Arion frowned deeply, 'He shouldn't use his magic all the time.'

That was the point he could get from Emily's last words. But seeing his brother's stubborn expression, he would definitely not stop so easily.

When Noam and the others manage to get their baby sibling back, they don't realize that their enemies are starting to rise again.

"This sucks!" Herris growled angrily as he tried to stand upright while his body was still in pain. Too bad for him that he felt such a strong sting twice today.

Hans, still unable to stand, could only groan in pain, "Wait, Herris! That child has magic now! We better use it!"

Herris glared at him sharply, "I don't need it to destroy the kid!" He said loudly and angrily. How dare Hans underestimate his abilities!

Too bad for him that his loud voice drew the attention of Eric and the others. They were immediately alarmed and quickly protected their little sibling.

Eric looked at Hans who was still lying down, "Zane, Rose, did you manage to injure the sword man?"

Rose snorted, "Just a scratch. We were just lucky."

"Don't tell me he's more affected by your lightning attack because he has an open wound?" Zane asked, looking at Hans' condition, which seemed to be very painful just to move his fingers.

Unlike Herris, who looked to be in pain, but was still able to stand up. Perhaps his large body was also due to his extraordinary stamina.

Noam snorted in exasperation, "We'll find out later. There's someone more troublesome preparing to attack."

Eric pulled Arion back into Hana's arms, "No. You stay here. You stay here." Eric's words immediately brought protest from his friends and sister.

"Don't be crazy, Eric. Just because you have your magic doesn't mean you can defeat him all of a sudden." Noam said unhappily. Was his friend now a fool because of his magical awakening?

Eric clicked his tongue in annoyance, "I'm not that stupid, idiot. My lightning has a stronger effect and it will hinder him. Use this time to regather your depleted energy."

His statement instantly silenced everyone. What Eric was saying was not wrong. But they still disagreed with his reckless actions.

Eric rolled his eyes as they all still looked doubtful, "We're lucky that the other guy still can't move. We should use this time to defeat the big guy."

Noam let out a long groan, feeling very irritated at the moment, but finally could only resign himself, "I don't like it, but we have no choice, right?"

When Eric didn't answer him but went back to his sword, Noam already had his answer. He approached Eric and grabbed his rival's right shoulder.

"Don't die." Noam said seriously.

Eric snorted amusedly, "Who do you think I am?"

With that, Eric was ready to face his first enemy with everything he had. He would use his magic if necessary.
