Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Trapped

His face washed white, he felt as if his eyes would pop out of its sockets. Was he even breathing? It all came crashing right back to him, what had happened. What was gonna happen..

"The fuck is happening?" Cameron whispered from behind him. He moved to the side so Kim Seo wasn't hiding him, the older boy knew he shouldn't let the younger one see what was happening.

To see who was being dragged lifelessly in front of them.

But he couldn't move.. he felt trapped, his feet rooted below him, the wetness in his eyes came back to him while he tried to blink them away but only more replaced them.

The sharp intake beside him gave all he needed to know. He couldn't stop the boy from looking, he himself couldn't even take his eyes away. He was afraid, shocked when everything all became too real for him.

"No…" Cameron let out a weak whisper. He watched the large man drag Loire up into the light, her lifeless body dragged behind him like she was nothing but a lump of meat. It was dark, but the boy could see the trail of blood begin to rub into the dirt behind them.

The man pulled her inside, using the bone weapon to push the door farther up so it wasn't in his way. He then turned, grabbing the small girl like she weighed nothing and threw her over his shoulder. He made a small grunt, turning and entering the home.

His home..

Kim Seo took a small step back, grabbing onto Cameron behind him with a strong hold. The boy was limp, his eyes wide and silent tears threatening to escape. The older boy quickly took control of the other male by ducking down away from both the door into the small dark room and the window. They pressed into a wall behind them, the growing moss and mold made their skin shiver to the touch.

But they didn't give it any mind, their thoughts only on what they couldn't see happen outside the room. The large man walked past the room the kids hid in, not even bothering a glance as he walked all the way down the hall and into the room with the small bit of light. The room where the boys smelt the putrid things.

Kim Seo made a small gulp, he felt the small boy give quick and raspy breaths. The room and whole home was silent, so the boy tried as hard as he could to keep his voice down. He had put his hand over his mouth to stop himself from throwing up. He was hot next to the other boy, they pushed one another towards the wall with the older one being open and looking around.

He looked for something. Anything to help them get out. He had to find a way to escape without being caught by the killer. He felt the way the other boy froze, the fear and shock of seeing what the man was doing to Loire turned him to stone. The boy was cold to the touch, his body shaking in a crazy fear.

The sudden sound of a body hitting the floor made the boys flinch. Cameron pushed himself closer into the wall while holding back a sob. His hands tightly wrapped around his mouth in a desperate attempt to cover his sobs.

As the dreadful sound of flesh ripping sounded through the home, Kim Seo had thought of a way they could escape. He watched the window feet in front of them, it had no glass in it, a wide open both of the teens could fit through and be outside of the horror house.

Kim Seo knew it wasn't smart to talk, not in the house that let sound follow it around like the wind, so he tried to get Cameron's attention in the dark without making a noise. He turned to the boy pressed into the wall, a hand coming over to rest on the other boy's hand that covered his mouth. Cameron had flinched, looking up in the dark to meet the taller one's piercing gaze.

Sweat formed along his forehead, his brows stern in a look that hid the fear plastered along his lips that shook ever so slightly. Though he hid it better than Cameron who was shaking so audibly, it made the wall shake along with him.

The older boy took the boy's attention away, he motioned towards the large open window, raising his brows to make a pointed and obvious look. The shorter one followed the gaze, sensing what the other meant with the look. Though his thoughts were jumbled along with his body that felt rooted in place.

The older boy didn't wait any longer after seeing Cameron catching his glances. He turned back around, looking at the entrance and jumping slightly when a striking sound sounded from the room. The older boy refused to think about what was happening only a few feet away from them. He only focused on the window where they would escape too.

He waited, waited until another sound filled the house, he took that sound and ran over to the window, stopping as soon as the sound ended. He had to make two runs to get to the window, but the killer continued the sound just as Kim Seo turned to make sure Cameron was right after him.

The younger boy was slower, his shaking feet making it more difficult to move without making any noise. He tried to do what the older one had done, though he got too scared when it ended, almost tripping over himself. Kim Seo stayed, looking out of the window behind him to see if they could make a run for it.

All the while, Cameron tried to hide his hiccups from what he knew was happening to Loire's dead body in the other room. His mind and whole body was shaking, his mind was rapidly thinking of all the gruesome things that terrified the young boy.

He knew better than to think about it, to imagine the body of his friend going through such things. Even if he told himself that, he got himself distracted, waiting for the sound of the sharp hits until he stopped when it finished. But when he stopped, his hand slid off from the wall quickly, making him lose his footing. He grabbed at himself, swiping his body up and into the wall quickly with his hand over his mouth.

He wished deeply that maybe the killer didn't hear him, that maybe he wasn't listening.. but the surprisingly sickening sound of the slashes stopping made his whole body run cold. The large, deadly man was silent, his steps flooding into soft steps that soaked in the cold and dirty air of the home.

Cameron was too terrified to look over at the window where Kim Seo was, he heard nothing, he could only feel the cold sweat run down his forehead. He heard nothing from the masked killer, nothing came from him even though the small boy knew he heard his small loss of footing.

He was heard, and knew he was being stalked like prey.

His back stayed firm against the moldy wall behind him, his hands itched towards the wood in a desperate attempt to ground himself. He felt like he would die just from staying there, the fear was overwhelming him, his vision blurred from time to time, making his desperate breaths feel useless.

The thing he did hear was the sharp rush of wind next to the door he hid behind by the entrance. He couldn't see in the dark, he couldn't even make out a shadow of the man, everything blurred together into disfigured things that he couldn't make out in his dazed fear.

But he heard it, it was sickening, drawing his breaths in quick and wispy.

He stopped breathing, the dim presence of the man just to his right made his body and mind freeze. The killer was just there, waiting outside of the room for his escape. He could try and make a run for the window, but the larger man was much faster.

Maybe he could make it around him and out the front door?

No, not when he was right in the doorway, Cameron knew he couldn't even make it out if the killer was in the room. But that might be his only way to try and get out..

He had to take the chance. Standing with his feet rooted and body shaking like a small leaf would be such a cowardly way to go out. He was a coward, but he didn't want the little amount of pride he had to be stomped down for such a death to take him out.

The man suddenly took a step forward, making his way in the room that was covered in darkness. His whole outline was nowhere to be seen, it was camouflaged in the sea of darkness that sucked away all the life and movements from the dangerous being. That terrified the teen more, the more he couldn't see or hear the man, the more scared for his life he was.

The boy tried to build up the courage to make a run for it, but there is no safe opening. He had to make a way to get the killer farther inside the room and farther away from him. That means he needs to stay still, to keep quiet.. even if it took long for the man to move away from him so the teen had an opening.

He thought for a second, letting the silence seep into him and allow his thoughts to try and circle a bright idea around his head. He looked forward, then to the ground, trying to see anything that he could use.

Thinking about it for a second, he finally decided to make a decision that might cost him his life.

The older boy made it out of the window, landing in a large dead bush just below the window. He plastered his back into the wall, listening, or rather waiting for Cameron to jump out right behind him. But a few silent seconds told him that he was stuck inside.

The older boy tried to silently look up from the bushes, he only managed to peep his head in to see what was happening. He quickly looked away when he noticed that the killer was in the doorway, with Cameron just behind the door he was at. He was close to the window, close to escaping.

But he wouldn't do that, the killer was too close to get out without being caught. There was nothing Kim Seo could do, he just moved down silently and out of the way. He let the silence sink in, his eyes wide in fear at thinking about what Cameron was trying to do.

He knew he couldn't do anything, but he didn't like just standing here and not helping. What could he do to help?

Even if he couldn't do anything, he had to do something.

He couldn't lose someone else like this. He would never forgive himself..

The boy took in a fresh breath of air, building up his courage, he positioned his hand down off the ground to get ready and stand up.

But he froze.

A soft creaking sound echoed in his ears. He hand landed on a wooden panel, a panel that sounded dried and dead from the years of age. The boy moved up, looking down at the panel, he turned around to behind him where his back was turned.

He just now noticed that this home was elevated, that there were panels on the ground that hid an entrance below the house. It was dried and dead, falling off the hinges with one simple tug. The boy couldn't think before he did.

He knew that he would have a much simpler time going under and taking the much larger man by surprise to help Cameron then to just burst right in there and get both of them in a coffin. With that plan in mind, the boy silently pulled off the panel and landed on his elbows to crawl under the floorboards below the home.

Because of the silence that stretched the whole surroundings, the small sounds felt like echoing bangs even if they were just soft swings. The killer flinched within the home, moving his head towards the window, his long legs quickly led him over the window where the glass was meant to be. He looked down, though when he did, nothing was there.

Kim Seo had predicted that the man would do that, he rolled around just to grab onto the plank and hold it in place before tilting it so it would stay. When it did, he moved his hands away, his eyes looking up at the soft bits of dust that fell from the pressure above.

It felt like any moment, the roof would come caving in on him from both the sounds, and the denting wood did just inches above his head. But he knew this was no time to start worrying about stuff like that, he had to get over to find a way in and help the poor, younger boy.

Just as he put the panel in place, the older boy rolled back around and onto his elbows. The mud sunk into him, his weight plastered into the ground below that felt suffocating. The smell of rot, and garbage was much stronger down where he was. He couldn't cover his mouth due to marching through the ground with his elbows so he didn't knock his head, he had to deal with it.

For Kim Seo, he did have to deal with danger back when he was living with his gang of a "family". It was dangerous, yes, he got stabbed and shot a few times that almost cost his life. He had to live out in the streets to fend for himself when he was 13 a few times. So, the boy had been through something that could be described as living hell.

That's why when the boy felt a few webs caught in his hair, along with a few small legs crawling along his back, he shrugged it off. He knew better than to get caught by a harmless thing that couldn't even harm him. So, he ignored the tiny legs that ran down his hair that was no longer in a bun and down along his neck. It felt slick with the water he almost died in, the wetness making it difficult for the insects to get out without fighting.

But Kim Seo kept a cold face, ignoring them and instead crawling along the muddy ground that was turning his white uniform shirt a shit brown. It looked almost like black goo in the darkness that swarmed around him. No light was allowed under the home with him, he was alone with only helpless insects running down his hair and skin.

While the boy under the home made his way across the ground filled with a horror amount of bugs. The small boy in the home had to worry about a new horror that was right in front of him. Whatever Kim Seo had done, it had drawn the masked killer over to the window. The window that was just across from the door he tried to desperately hide behind. The boy knew better than to stay there, but running felt too risky.

He knew the man wouldn't stay there for long, he would look and then turn and catch him. So he had to make a move now.

Without any better judgment, the small boy turned around quickly in the direction of the door behind his back. When he had done it, he managed to make it around just when the killer swiped his head in the direction of feet against the broken wood. He caught the sight of Cameron forcing the door wider to get out.

He was quick.

Faster than was humanly possible. His hand landed on the wide open door. With much force, the killer smashed the door off its hinges. It broke with a large snapping sound echoing in the home. The teenager jumped back before the door that fell on him, it landed right on his way down the hall to the exit.

But he couldn't think about that right now, the killer was just a few feet away from him. And knowing the man's speed, he can catch him if the small teen didn't move fast.

Fast, faster…

Cameron knew it was stupid, he was just trapping himself. But his feet did what they could only do, and that was to run. Run away from the danger barreling towards him. The boy ran down the hill, the hall that ended up in the room where the horrible smell was. He knew it wasn't just a rotting corpse, it was an actual corpse.

That corpse was of Loire.

The boy couldn't think, he ran straight into the room that had a small source of light. Even with the light shining down, the floor was now slippery and wet. Cameron slipped on the liquid, catching himself before he could land face first in it. His hands quickly jumbled around or the shelf-like desk to pull himself up quickly.

Even in the small lit room, the liquid he slipped was a very dark shade of red, it smelt something so strongly resembling iron and rusting copper. He didn't have the time to think about that, the man was now in the room with him. With the light in the room, Cameron can now see the "face" of the man that was after his life.

The rotten wolf skull stared back at him. The dark black sockets felt like they sucked all the light out just by looking in his fearful ones. The boy took a gulp. Standing behind the desk in the middle, his back to the wall that was filled with the shelves and jars of what he knew was anything but something living.

The masked man took a new demeanor. Suddenly he was acting hungry with speed unknown to man. Now, he stood up fully, his back straight and facing the small boy in the room. He became slow, his steps walking in small yet large steps across the room. He reached for the large spear that was sprawled along the floor that Cameron had tripped over in the dark.

Cameron couldn't take his eyes off the man right in front of him. His feet were stuck to the ground, his legs shaking in place as he stared at death walking right in front of him. He didn't know what to do, how to react..

Only inches away now, in arms reach. Cameron refused to react, his eyes open wide, his breathing must have stopped since it was dead silent in the room. Nothing but his heartbeat skipping in beats could be heard.

He wasn't ready.. he didn't want to die yet, not by this man had no right to take away his life so easily!

Not without a fight!

But he couldn't fight back. Not this time, he had no escape, no hope in living.

Just the vivid image of Lore limp, mangled, and rotting apart corpse only a foot away from him staring back at him with dead, glossy eyes. Eyes that dropped nothing but deep sadness, only to fall and slid along her severed arms growing a deadly gray color. Her mouth opened wide, blood stuck between teeth as it fell down into a large pool of blood that half of his body was covered in..

She would have fought back if she saw it coming, fighting her way to safety and living to tell the tale with a cocky grin on her lips.. lips that are now dried up, soaking in her own blood.
