Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Tasting good

The boy's eyes shut when the sharp feeling of wind aiming for his chest sounded. He moved, not even knowing if he could make it.. but the loud smashing sound of his heart pounding against his chest told him that it didn't hit and kill him.

The spear cut right through his sweater, tearing a large hole when he managed to rip his whole body away just in time. His body got cut, although he couldn't feel anything but the loud pumping adrenaline in his body begging to live.

The masked being pulled the bone weapon back to his side, turning over to see the small boy fumble on the bloody ground. The boy tried to desperately ignore the eyes that stared right at him from behind, the eyes of his friend who watched him struggle to stand up from her blood. It was too slippery, he slipped again and again, his face landing in all her blood.

The pool of blood along with the large, dead eyes that tore off his skin just by looking at him. He slipped back down, catching himself and looking for a way to escape. His body was covered in blood, his mind running in desperate circles as he tried to think of a way of getting out. He felt the man behind him, his arm stretching out and ready to go straight through his chest.

To kill him-

But instead of that, the large man grabbed at his neck. He pulled the small boy up roughly by his throat, wrapping his arm around the boy's thin body as he was lifted for the masked killer to almost be in his hair.

The small boy let out a terrified shriek, kicking his legs in a desperate attempt to free himself. But he was no match, the man was much stronger than him, so much more powerful with all the control of him now. That didn't stop Cameron from fighting for his life, kicking the air as he tried to pry the large arm around his neck off with his nails.

The man felt nothing, the little boy wouldn't go anywhere with the hold he had on him. He was too small, too weak to escape him. So the masked being had no trouble trying to get rid of him, he could do it easily if he wanted.

Instead, he took a whiff of the boy. He smelt like blood, so much blood that it almost caused the killer to tighten his hold and crush his neck in half. Cameron let out a yell, feeling him tightened around him, suffocating him without breaking a sweat.

"No-!"

The man loosened slightly, grabbing at the small arm that tried to strike him in a frenzy. He held on tight, squeezing his wrist until he heard a small snap. The teen let out a muffled scream, his arm going limp in his grasp. Though the killer didn't release him, instead he lowered his head and moved his arm off his neck and under his other arm to grab at his chin so he had him in a tight hold.

The smell of blood was overpowering. The scent the small teen had was now gone, replacing the putrid smell that covered the whole room that now covered the man, blood smeared from the teen and onto the older man as he tried to escape.

He got hungry, tired. He just wanted to eat and then sleep. He was preparing the girl, cutting her body apart and tearing the flesh off the bones which is why the room was such a mess with her blood. Now, he had the boy in his hands, the hunger overtook him.

The sharp pain of large, sharp teeth being plunged into his neck made Cameron scream. It was cut short, his whole body freezing up as the crazy man sunk his large teeth in his neck, a large chunk of the boy's flesh was in between his teeth. The pain only got worse when he felt it tear, his flesh tearing…

The man pulled harshly, taking a chunk of Cameron's neck along with him.

The boy couldn't even think. He didn't know if he was still breathing, was he moving? Is he still alive?

He couldn't feel himself breathing, he couldn't feel his heartbeat. It was all so quiet.. the only thing he could hear was his own screaming, loud and pained. He couldn't move, he was trapped in the grasp of the larger man.

He never thought he would be eaten alive.

He never thought that he would die.

Kim Seo heard the commotion from under the home, he quickly moved through the mud over to where the steps came from. He stopped when it all went silent, he feared that the killer had gotten to Cameron all ready. That he had killed the boy-

A loud scream coming from Cameron stopped the boy in his thoughts.

Kim Seo panicked, he looked up to where he was, using his elbow to bash the floor board. He had to hit it a few times until the old wood finally gave in, letting way for the dim yellow light in the room.

The boy quickly pulled himself up into the room, looking off near the center of the room where the large figure was. With Cameron in his grasp. The small boy was swinging his arms around in a desperate attempt to escape, the killer held one of his arms out to his side. It was limp in his grasp..

With a sudden harsh motion, the man ripped his head up. It flung blood around their surroundings. Cameron let out another scream, sobs echoed within his distressful cries. Kim Seo smashed through the rest of the board so he could jump into the room.

He ignored the blood that sunk into his forearms, moving forward to reach for the closest thing to him. That was the bone spear the killer used to kill Loire with. He had it just under them where he pulled chunks of flesh off from Cameron's neck.

When the older boy had it in his hand, he felt himself rise with a surge of adrenaline and rage. Without thinking, the boy used all of his strength to plunge the sharp end of the spear right at the killer's back.

He was pretty strong for his age, and the slicing *clunk of the sharp end running in the killer's back sent a strong emotion within Kim Seo. He knew that if he wanted to get this killer off, he would have to pull it out and cause blood loss.

The man's body was broad, that with the cloth that dropped on his back made pulling the weapon out difficult. Kim Seo ended up snapping the thing in half with half of the spear lodged in the killer's back.

He had dropped the boy, sending the boy to land on his elbow with sharp pain escaping through his lips. That wasn't too much of a worry right now, he forced his hand that wasn't broken over to hold his neck tightly circling his fingers around the large wound. It felt hot, pumping muscles moving around just right under his grasp.

The amount of blood couldn't be stopped by his small hand, it seeped right through his fingers and all around his collar bone. His shirt was ripped from the contact, all the clear white washed away in blood.

He felt suffocated by the blood, some of it his own but most of it is from Loire. It was suffocatingly hot, gurgling within his throat that made his grasp out for the air that avoided him like the plague. The boy couldn't even use his other hand that hung uselessly to his side by a broken wrist.

He felt helpless, dying on the ground all the while he tried to clamber his way up, fighting through the endless abyss that wrapped him in its large black claws.

Kim Seo flung himself away from the killer that had swiped around to his back at the boy. His undershirt got cut by the man's mangled claws, ripping right through into his skin. It would leave scars by the stinging sensations that brought tears to his eyes. But the boy can't dwell on that right now.

He caught the man by surprise, watching him move around in a frenzy with the front of the bone out of his right abdomen. Kim Seo had just missed the heart, but he couldn't stop to watch.

The boy managed to run past the man by going around the desk over to where Cameron was. He had to stop himself from looking down to Loire's torn apart corpse to his side and focus on Cameron. The boy was forcing himself on his knees, one hand squeezing tightly around his neck that was completely absorbed with red blood.

His other hand tried to push him up, only resolving in making him fall back down since he didn't seem to be using it "right."

Kim Seo quickly moved his hand to lift the boy to his side and into him. He didn't stop to make sure the boy was comfortable, he was sure he was not. Instead, he ran with the boy trying to cling to him out of the horrible house. Cameron failed to fall in his quick steps, although he held on to be dragged along the way.

Every move was painful, he felt himself go delirious, his vision swaying from side to side while he tried to watch what was running past him. The rotten smell was gone, replaced with the soft smell of wood and soil. His body was moved around, it made his wrist fall a couple of times which earned a loud yowl from the boy.

"Quiet! Quiet!"

The similar shush from Kim Seo made Cameron groan in pain. His face was hot with tears, his skin covered in blood all around. His clothes were soaked in it, making him fall back down slower with all the extra weight he was carrying with him.

It was becoming too much to hold his neck. His hand kept slipping, making the fast wind to his exposed muscles just hanging out from his hand. The boy let out another desperate cry, falling over to his knees in pain.

Kim Seo was right next to him, stopping to pick the boy back up. He looked behind them, seeing nothing chase them within the dark leaves. He didn't want to risk it..

Even with the pain from the cut on his chest, the tall boy forced Cameron on his back. "Hold on..!" He hissed to the boy before holding onto his leg for a grasp and hoping the boy could hear him and hold on.

He felt him try, forcing his arm with the broken wrist to wrap around his neck before he pushed his head into the base of the older boy's neck. His other hand still tried to hide the neck bite from the world while his legs tightened around Kim Seo's waist in another attempt to hold on.

Kim Seo still felt the adrenaline through him after he managed to push a whole spear inside of a man. It seemed to back him to see things better, he caught on to the direction he was going and where he was trying to go. The hill, the place they fell down to.

He believed they were far away from it, maybe a mile or two. But to his surprise, he could see it through the darkness only feet in front of them. It made his legs quicken up, the weight of a lifeless Cameron on his back felt nothing to him. The sweat pooling off of him was invisible to his pumping heart.

Now there he was, right by the hill they made it to. He didn't think much of which direction to go, so he turned left to the side where it seemed to have a few small caves indebted into the hill to hide. The older boy had to take a break, a break mostly for Cameron's sake.

He didn't want to be too close to the house and killer. Even if the man didn't seem to follow him, he can come out of nowhere to take the teens by surprise.

Without any better judgment, Kim Seo ran along the hillside as he looked for the biggest and most covered area to put Cameron down. He ran along it for a few seconds before stopping by vines covering a small entrance. They both managed to fit through it, the inside much larger than the opening. It was also covered in large, thick vines to shield them from the outside.

Kim Seo quickly placed the boy down, Cameron's back hitting the rock wall which made him let out a sob. The older boy brushed that off, looking over the boy in the minimal amount of light they had. The vines were thick, only parts that swung from the wind allowed the moons dimming light to light up the boys.

Even if it wasn't a lot, it was enough for the older boy to look over Cameron.

Cameron didn't want to cooperate, whining and crying out when Kim Seo grabbed at him to look over his wounds. But the boy had no power or strength to fight back, so he ended up letting the older boy pull his hand away from his neck to look at the wound.

It was bigger than it seemed, so big that the muscle of the body was pumping at a rapid pace. Kim Seo quickly ripped the end of his undershirt that was already ripped to try and cover it. Because the large wound was too big, the blood seeped through quickly, staining the boy's hands as he tried to cover it up again.

"OW!" Cameron hissed out, kicking his feet at the pain.

Kim Seo cursed under her breath, looking around for something else to use. He grabbed at the uniform sweater Cameron still wore. He ripped half of the end off, tearing a large piece that could be used to fit around the boy's neck. He tightened it hard, earning another cry that was filled with panic distress. The boy apologized, smoothing out where the wound was to make sure it would not fall apart. He knew what he was doing, but that didn't stop his hands from shaking with all of the blood consuming them.

Cameron hiccuped a few sobs, using his non broken hand to cover up his shaking lips. Tears fell from his eyes in a heap, suffocating him just as the blood was. Kim Seo knew he couldn't do much else to help, so he turned to look the boy up and down for any other injuries.

The boy's whole body and clothes were covered in blood, his face was smeared with the same thing that dripped down onto his neck. His left hand hung loosely to the side, he could move the arm but every time he was in his hand it would cause enormous amounts of pain. His body was all cut up, his arms had scratches and bruises lining his bones.

A large blue, purple bruise was on the wrist that was broken, his cheek was a large red blotch that had some of Loire's blood covered in it. More bruises were littered along his skin, his clothing ripped apart and filled with dirt and more blood.

Kim Seo slid down to sit in front of the boy, watching with careful eyes to make sure he didn't pass out. He only let out wheezes of broken breaths, his hand over his lips shaking from the environment around that swallowed him and threw him back out. He just wanted it all to go away, the pain holding onto him that tore off his skin to bite through.

It felt horrible, he was out of breath from just sitting and doing nothing. He feared that he lost so much blood that it may make him pass out, that would leave him fending for himself. The similar sound of Kim Seo's breathing told the boy otherwise.

The older teen stood close by, watching for the noises outside of their hiding place just in case. Cameron opened a weak eye, seeing sweat fall from his vision until it landed on the boy. He was also covered in blood, not too much but it was enough to soak through his uniform that was ripped on the chest to show a bloody scratch mark. It looked like it stung just to see the irritated red of his skin separated apart.

The boy let out a tired sigh, covering his eyes with his hand to let the darkness and silence seep in. He felt oddly out of breath, his body felt so hot and sticky. His mind took turns trying to understand what he was trying to do, what to do next.

He wondered if the killer had managed to follow them? Was he watching them when they escaped? The boy wasn't paying attention.

Which is why he didn't exactly know what had happened. He knew that Kim Seo was there, that he managed to get the killer off of him and race to safety. So, the older boy had actually decided to save him.

Save me? Why..?

Cameron whined in his throat at the thoughts, it didn't make sense to him. Him and the older always were at one another throats, it didn't once occur to him that he would go back for him. To go and save him.

"Erm.." Cameron coughed lightly, his throat feeling clogged and tightly suffocated. Kim Seo turned to him, hearing the boy try and struggling to speak. "How.. how did you manage him off?"

Kim Seo tilted his head, peering up slightly before it seemed to come to him. "Oh.. that…" He made a sound in his throat before looking down. "He was distracted with you, so I got a chance to stab him in the back. That's why he didn't run after us, he was hurt."

Cameron's eyes were wide. He stared at him with complete disbelief, the older boy noticed, giving a sly smirk in response. "What? Don't believe me?"

"I- I mean.." Cameron scoffed, his face slightly heating up in embarrassment. "No, I do.. just surprised you had the balls to actually STAB someone."

"I've done it before."

Cameron swung his head back to him, wincing when his wound stung at the movements. Even with the pain, Cameron powered through with a look at the older boy. "You- have?"

"..." Kim Seo looked in his eyes, thoughts feeling conflicted as he watched the brown orb's swim with confusion yet excitement. He let a soft smile escape onto his lips before continuing. "I grew up in a gang. The Geondal to be exact. That is where I learned to do all the stuff I said back at school, same with "fighting". Something like that.."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Kim Seo turned back to him, a smile still on his lips, though his face was shadowed with something dark. "Fighting, and.. hunting are different things." Cameron gulped, keeping his lips sealed while the older boy continued. "Hunting others my age for my parents orders. I didn't want to, but I had no choice. I didn't choose to grow up like this, to be a danger to others because I had mafia parents."

The boy made a face that told Cameron that he was going somewhere dark. His mind was lost, his eyes swimming with grief along with anxiety. It was strange, everything they have just been through didn't change his expression as much as talking about his childhood did. He was grieving, scared and sad…

Cameron may have just dug somewhere no one was allowed to. Kim Seo kept this side of him hidden, his backstory was too dark for him to explain and not change.

But he let it side with Cameron, growing soft. Cameron's face turned a bright pink, his body squirming with both the numbing and pounding pain fighting one another. He didn't know what to do, but he didn't like watching Kim Seo be sad. He had saved the other boy, Cameron felt as if he owed the other boy something.

A warm hand grabbed onto Kim Seo's. The older boy looked over with raised eyebrows, seeing a blushing boy look back at him with a grief in his eyes. This might be the first time he had seen Cameron look like that.

His face warmed up, grabbing back onto the other boy's hand in desperation for another living beings' comfort. They let the silence seep in, the boys feeling a connection among one another that was different from either of their lives. Cameron couldn't feel the pain, only the bigger, warm hand holding onto him.

"You-"

The silence was cut short with a few rustling from outside that made the boys flinch. They pulled away, completely on edge at the sound. Someone was outside, behind the vines and within arms reach. Cameron stiffened up, pushing into the wall behind him in a fearful panic while the older boy got himself up and ready to defend them.

A figure over-shadowed them, covering the moon's light just as the vines were pushed roughly apart.
