As always, the Hogwarts Express carried us back home, marking the end of another school year. The only real difference this time was Fleur's departure. She had to return to Beauxbatons with the rest of her academy, much to her frustration. But she had made her intentions clear—she'd be back as soon as possible.
She was moving in with us. That was a certainty.
Luckily, our house trunks provided more than enough space, because the townhouse itself was quickly becoming crowded. With only three bedrooms, we already had four people living there, soon to be five. Though, to be fair, one of the rooms remained unused since Yue and Serenity outright refused to sleep anywhere but with me. Rachel, ever independent, had initially preferred her own space, but over time, she had grown accustomed to sleeping with us too.
Not that space was truly an issue—expanding rooms with magic was simple enough.
"So, what's the plan this summer?" I asked, settling into the cushioned seat as the train rumbled along the tracks.
This time, Harry and Ron hadn't joined us.
Ron—now known as "Won-Won" to Lavender—was too busy being attached to her by the lips to sit anywhere else. Meanwhile, Harry and Ginny had been getting along quite well, and he spent most of his time by her side.
That left me, Yue, Rachel, Luna, and Hermione. Serenity had already returned ahead of time, slipping back into the house through the Vanishing Cabinet.
"My parents have planned a trip to Rome to see the Colosseum," Hermione said excitedly. Her family typically spent summers in France or other well-traveled destinations, but this time, they'd opted for Italy.
Luna, who had perched herself comfortably in my lap at some point, smiled dreamily. "Daddy will be busy with The Quibbler this summer, so I'll be spending most of my time at your house… trying to seduce you." She admitted this cheerfully, as if she were discussing the weather.
Hermione choked. "What?! That's not fair!"
Luna simply stuck her tongue out and wrapped her arms around my neck, looking far too pleased with herself.
Yue chuckled, Rachel rolled her eyes but smirked, and I? Well, I just sighed. This summer was going to be… something.
"I already have my lucky panties packed! Though, I don't know how lucky they are if you don't intend to wear them," Luna mused, her voice full of innocent curiosity.
I sighed again. "Luna… are you even wearing panties?"
"Oh no," she replied as if that were obvious, "I was hoping you'd help inspect me for Muffkiffles! You always help Yue, Rachel, and Fleur look for Muffkiffles, so I thought you'd check mine too."
And, just like that, she jerked her skirt up without a hint of shame. Sure enough, she was indeed not wearing any.
"Luna!" Hermione yelped, her face turning crimson as she lunged forward, yanking Luna's skirt back down with both hands.
Luna tilted her head at her. "Are you going to help look too, Hermione? Or do you want him to check you as well?" she asked with the same dreamy smile. "From what I've heard, it feels quite good the deeper you check."
That was it. Yue had her hands over her mouth, her entire face flushed red as she tried and failed to contain her laughter.
Rachel, for her part, had simply pulled her book up over her face, but her shaking shoulders betrayed her amusement.
The rest of the train ride continued in a mix of exasperated sighs (from me), flushed glares (from Hermione), and barely contained giggles (from everyone else).
Before long, the familiar sight of King's Cross Station came into view, signaling our arrival in London. The train slowed before coming to a full stop, steam hissing from the engine as students began gathering their things.
"Alright, let's get moving," I said, standing and stretching.
Yue and Rachel took their time getting up, while Luna remained completely unbothered, still curled up in my lap. Hermione, still flustered from earlier, grabbed her bag with a huff and led the way out of the compartment.
The platform was as chaotic as ever—parents greeting their children, students saying rushed goodbyes, and luggage carts being stacked high. I spotted the Weasleys immediately, with Molly fussing over Ron and Ginny while Fred and George entertained themselves by hexing Percy's luggage. Harry was already deep in conversation with Mrs. Weasley and Sirius, who had come to pick him up.
After a quick round of goodbyes, Hermione was the first to leave, waving as she hurried toward her parents. Luna, of course, made no effort to find her father, as she was dead set on coming home with us.
With Serenity waiting for us at the house, we wasted no time making our way through the station and into the city streets. A quick turn into a quiet alley, and I tapped the handle of my house trunk, activating its Portkey function which was a neat feature we added.
With a tug behind the navel, the world spun, and in the blink of an eye, we were home.
The townhouse stood exactly as we had left it—protected, quiet, and warm. Serenity was already waiting in the doorway, smiling as she welcomed us back.
Luna stretched her arms over her head. "Ah, home sweet home. Now, where's my room? Actually, never mind, I'll just sleep in Ryan's."
I sighed. Again.
Yue smirked, Rachel chuckled, and Serenity simply shrugged.
Well even for all the trouble she causes I still adore Luna so I'll let it slide. I didn't mind her coming over to stay during the summer of her dad was busy. Much better than her being home alone all the time.
Not like we couldn't just apparate her back home. Well technically we couldn't as it was illegal for us to apparate underage. It was also illegal for us to make portkeys and kill people even if they were death eaters. But that never really stopped is before.
