Chapter 16 - The Radiance and Rivalry (2)

When Saskia reached Lina's side, she greeted her with a heartfelt hug.

"Lina, you look absolutely stunning tonight!" she exclaimed, genuinely impressed by her friend's daring ensemble.

Lina's eyes sparkled with delight as she took in Saskia's appearance. "And you, my dear, are the epitome of grace and nobility. I can't get over how radiant you look," she replied, her admiration evident in her tone.

Saskia laughed, her eyes twinkling with affection. "Thank you! But I must say, your look tonight is simply irresistible. You're a vision of seduction. That gown is truly spectacular."

Lina's lips curled into a mischievous smile. "I'm glad you think so. Tonight, I decided to let a bit of my hidden sensuality show. It's not every day I get to dazzle like this," she said, her tone playful yet sincere.

Saskia admired her friend's confidence. Lina's gown, with its fitted silhouette and high slit, revealed a side of her that was usually kept under wraps. The deep black fabric and the bold design highlighted Lina's allure, making her stand out even in the company of the evening's elite.

"You're a total showstopper, Lina. I'm sure everyone is just as captivated by you as they are by me," Saskia said with a grin, her words laced with genuine affection.

Lina laughed softly, giving a playful toss of her head. "Well, if anyone can steal the spotlight tonight, it's definitely you. But I'll gladly share the spotlight with you. After all, we're both here to celebrate."

As the two friends continued to chat, their mutual admiration and deep bond were evident to everyone around them. They drew the eyes of many, their contrasting styles creating a dynamic presence that was the talk of the event.

Saskia's elegance and nobility complemented Lina's seductive glamour perfectly, and together they formed a powerful duo that captivated the attention of all who crossed their path.

But amid the celebration and camaraderie, a shadow lingered on the edge of their joy. Lina's expression suddenly shifted, her eyes narrowing slightly as she leaned in closer to Saskia. In a low, conspiratorial voice, she said, "Look at Alexa. When you appeared just now, her eyes sharpened like knives, ready to stab you. She still can't believe that she lost to you."

Saskia, intrigued, followed Lina's gaze discreetly toward Alexa, who was engaged in conversation with a group of producers. Alexa's expression was composed, but there was an undeniable tension in her posture, a stark contrast to her usual poise.

Her elegant dress, though beautiful, seemed to pale in comparison to the radiance that Saskia exuded, a fact that had not gone unnoticed by those around her.

Lina continued, her voice barely above a whisper, "After all, during the filming and post-production of both your dramas, she was always ahead of you.

People couldn't stop praising her, saying she would definitely win the Best TV Actress award this year. And when both of your dramas aired at the same time, they both broke records. But yours was clearly higher, and everyone praised your acting.

Alexa's team tried to manipulate the comment sections and the internet, buying water armies to praise her work and even had the audacity to claim she would win the award. But look at her now. She lost big time yesterday. Ha! Serves her right.

Does she think the judges are blind? She could buy all the fake praise she wanted, but the judges saw the truth. You were the best actress this year, and no one could deny it. She's still bitter about it, and she doesn't even bother hiding her hate and jealousy toward you."

Saskia observed Aelxa for a moment longer, noticing the subtle way Alexa's eyes flickered towards her, a mixture of resentment and envy clouding her features.

Alexa, once the undisputed darling of the industry, had seen her star fade in the wake of Saskia's rise. Her aristocratic beauty and impeccable connections had once made her untouchable, but Saskia's debut had shifted the balance of power in a way that Alexa had never anticipated.

Saskia sighed softly, her expression a blend of amusement and mild pity. "I don't know why she's so set against me when I didn't even meet her before. It seems that despite coming from a rich noble family, she still feels insecure."

Lina rolled her eyes, her tone dripping with disdain. "Duh, of course, she does. Before you entered the entertainment industry, she was the best and was always praised as the most natural beauty.

But when you made your debut in such a high-class way, she immediately felt threatened. Not only are you more beautiful than her, but your face is also more distinctly oriental, you're taller than her, and your aura is definitely better than hers. Because of this, she's harbored a one-sided hatred toward you."

Saskia's lips curled into a small, knowing smile. "She can hate me all she wants. As long as she doesn't touch me, I won't pay her any attention. But if she ever crosses the line..." Saskia's voice took on a steely edge, her eyes narrowing with resolve, "I'll make sure I eclipse her at every event we participate in together."

Lina's grin widened, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes. "That's the spirit, Saskia. Let her seethe in her jealousy. You've already won, and she knows it."

Saskia's gaze drifted back to Alexa, who was now attempting to maintain a facade of politeness as she engaged with the producers around her. The tension in Alexa's posture was evident to anyone who cared to look closely enough, her smile strained, her eyes betraying the turmoil within.

It was clear that the previous night's loss had cut deeper than she was willing to admit, and the sight of Saskia basking in the adulation of the industry had only added salt to the wound.
