As the Ghost was thrown away from the barrier, he was losing consciousness as he hit the ground. He tried to look around, but his vision was fading. As he passed out, he saw Barbara and her Huey land.
"Child! Wake up! Please!"
As the other Ottawans joined her, they became surround by knights.
"Halt! Who goes there?"
"Please, our friend needs help!"
The lead knight stepped forward and leaned down to look at the Ghost.
"Quickly, bring him with, the kingdom's healer can save him."
Without hesitation, the Watcher and the others load the Ghost into the Knights' cart and head to this mysterious kingdom.
Once they arrived at the healer, Inferno and the Watcher remove his armor so the healer may work.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet. We still have to detain you and have the king question you."
"We...understand."
The Knights escort the Ottawans to the cell while the Knight Captain hurries to fetch the king.
"So, anyone wanna talk about what the fuck this is?"
"Inferno, mind that language."
"Barbara, Inferno is right, we have no idea as to where we are."
"From the looks of things, we've somehow entered a medieval period. I don't know how or why, but were are here." added Juno
"Well, at least the Ghost is being treated."
"No... The Medieval period was the worst for medicines and life expectancy...."
"Not to worry everyone. The healers use healing magic. Nothing like the dark elves of the north to fix you right up. Although, your friend was seriously injured." said a knight who was guarding them.
As the captain an the others returned, they escorted the Ottawans to the castle.
"Your majesty! I come with some newcomers. They were armed with weapons I have never seen before, but one of them was severely injured, the dark elves are taking care of him. They claim he is their leader."
"My, my. We haven't had other-worlders here for quite some time. I am King Elden of the Kingdom of Eldridge. I apologize for my Knight Captain. She is just protective and a bit much sometimes, but welcome travelers. Might I have your names?"
"Your majesty, I am Daniel Light, but please, call me the Watcher. I am second in command of New Ottawa. With me is Lady Barbara, military advisor of the Ghost of Ottawa, Lady Juno, Chief Scientist of New Ottawa, and Commander Inferno, ranking officer of the 451st Fahrenheit division of New Ottawa and some of his men. Our injured friend is our leader, the legendary Ghost of Ottawa."
"Well mannered and polite. Captain, please remove their ropes. They pose no threat to me."
"Yes sire."
As their ropes are removed, the King comes down to greet them personally.
"Like I said, welcome to the Kingdom of Eldridge. I know how disorienting this must be for all of you. Why don't we see if the servants have made any food?"
The Ottawans follow King Elden down into lower levels of the castle. There the servants smiled and greeted their king.
"Tell me, do you have anything for our other-worlders to eat?"
"We don't, I'm sorry your majesty. We can have a feast prepared for them tonight!"
"Splendid idea! Please make sure you all join us this evening as well."
As they walk up the stairs, a messenger arrives from the clinic.
"Your majesty, Lady Aria has requested you at the clinic."
"Ah, thank you Sarah. Please tell her I'll be right there. Sir Watcher? Would you accompany me?"
"Of course your majesty."
"Captain Eleanor, please see to it our guests are seen to their rooms, and given the chance to bathe."
"Yes sire. Come along."
As the others take their leave, King Elden and the Watcher walk over to the clinic. As the entry bell rings, the dark elf appears to greet them.
"Your majesty, other-worlder, welcome to my clinic."
"Yes, thank you Lady Aria. Tell me, how is your patient?"
"He is resting well. He has some burns I couldn't heal, but he will recover."
"Is he awake?"
"I'm sorry, not yet. You are welcome to peak in on him. His armor, shield and weapon are along the wall."
As they enter the room, the Ghost was asleep, deep in a recovery sleep.
"Tell me about him Sir Watcher."
"I don't even know where to begin."
"Why not start at what happened to him?"
As the Watcher begins, King Elden and Lady Aria listen. He speaks on the events leading up to the war, how the Ghost had kept them safe and alive. He tells them about the war, and the collider, how the Ghost was able to stop the machine, causing plenty of his injuries. He talked on and on for about three hours before he stopped and looked at the Ghost.
"He is a leader that I would give my life for willingly."
King Elden nods as Lady Aria wipes her tears.
"He sounds like a great man."
"That he is your majesty."
"Well, let us take our leave and let him rest."
